Fantastic game, outside of occasional audio glitches
Occasional desyncing of audio, but it would sync right back up after a minute or so
Have played around for a good bit on a new save. Everything seems perfect, though I haven't checked Multiplayer yet. Will see if I can test that in the future.
Fantastic game, runs flawlessly
This game runs perfectly. When I used to play it on Windows, before the switch to Pop!_OS and Manjaro on my systems, it was in development and I enjoyed the occasional stutters and jitters. But its smooth as heck on Linux.
Game runs just as perfectly as it used to run on Gamecube, if not faster. Surprised at how bad I am at it these days, but no technical difficulties.
graphics were occasionally jagged
may need better control mapping and optimization on deck
Now runs perfectly! Played through several missions and everything worked fine! Loving this oldschool game now that everything works...despite the config menu on first launch not showing images. Other than that, when the game itsself loads, everything is playable!
Loader still doesn't show images, but once the game starts, everything runs perfectly. Even all of my many mods I have for it run perfectly! Just beat the American campaign fine!
Great Game still. Occasional glitches, but still great.
Every once in a while, the game will crash in the middle of an Instant Action game. Perhaps once in every 10+ play sessions.
It takes a good bit of scrolling in the right touchpad to aim, will have to look into how to fix this as it can be the death of you in dogfights
SO CLOSE but then Bad FPU Word
Proton 5.0
Game starts, with audio, then dies
I had so many hopes for this after the recent Proton patches, but it's still borked.
Fantastic oldschool game that runs perfectly fine.
Keep searching for those extra weapons!
Works fine on Proton Experimental
It would occasionally take textures a few min to load in- this is mainly noticeable when I'm playing Zombies.
Note that, if running newer Proton GE versions, it might not like that when initially opening. Also it seems to not like eGPU setups, as I occasionally have to reconnect the eGPU to have the game utilize it.
Flies on Deck!
Lock at 40 fps
Note that if you have a lot of sprinklers or conveyer belts running on screen, your fps may drop a good bit
Runs fine on deck when native!
lock to 40fps, 40hz, FSR
Runs fine if you and the server are both on the linux runtime version
Please note you may have to force the Linux runtime in compatibility. Saves between Linux and Wnidoze won't work but they will between installs utilizing the Linux runtime.
Runs fine on modern hardware, but may run around 40fps on Deck. Still a great time!
Please note you may have to force the Linux runtime in compatibility. Saves between Linux and Wnidoze won't work but they will between installs utilizing the Linux runtime. Most servers will run the Linux runtime version, so it's recommended to do that when running on Linux.
Runs flawlessly!
I recommend setting the refresh rate to 40hz /40fps or 30hz/30fps as the game only has 30fps or 60fps modes.
Runs perfectly fine!
I love that we're at a point where new games like Dinkum just work on Linux distros. This is so cool. I'm enjoying playing this game without any tinkering needed, and soon I'll be playing it with a family member as well.
Works fine on ChimeraOS and Nobara Linux...but needs better controller support
Seems that my 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4g controller is being read as double-button-presses but only for this game. Any other game I run with the living room setup doesn't give double presses.
Runs great!
Used the default Proton 5.0-9, had to make sure Proton version matched other Proton users or else there were slight delays between attacks for some reason. Other than that, perfect!
Game will start, with dll, but stops at black screen
Previously game would not start. Downloaded and extracted an xlive.dll file from https://wikidll.com/microsoft/xlive-dll, then tried running it again. Game would now succesfully open, only to show a black screen with the Fable III-themed cursor.
Follow instructions here, using steam to open local files. Extract the .zip to kill xlive and make sure to move the .ini and other file into your game folder. The rest is as written. https://steamcommunity.com/app/105400/discussions/0/1628538005528399439/
Playing this with my cousins and coworkers worked out flawlessly
No need to force the download of the EAC runtime now it seems...or perhaps I already had it
EAC fully installs and is supported if running in GE
Broken regardless of proton version
Works fine on GE Proton 7-29 on desktop but fails to get to the menu on any one I try now, even with EAC installed
EAC fully running, multiplayer working fine, everything loading up fine on Beta OS!
After futzing around with various proton versions, it seems Proton GE 7-29 is the sweet spot if you're running Steam Deck Beta Channel, as of the time of this writing. It will run flawlessly! Just let it install and get what it needs done, then play.
It will only work with ProtonGE if you run through this tutorial https://youtu.be/ls_DFIPG8oQ
Runs fine!
Go into Desktop mode and grab Protonup-qt on your deck to easily install the latest Proton GE. Then go back into gaming mode and fire it up fine! Note that I'm playing via the Steam installation though, I got it on Steam way back when. EAC fully running, multiplayer working fine, everything loading up fine on Beta SteamOS!
Another protondb report mentioned the script needed to install the EAC.so file. Run the following script in Konsole: curl -s -L https://gist.github.com/rokam/3fb8b768606eef1ddd696cd0bc02e6df/raw/6a0f3a502b2722c87e92ea9cffb8a00144f8a76a/fix_fallguys.sh | bash
Run this in your terminal to get EAC working: curl -s -L https://gist.github.com/rokam/3fb8b768606eef1ddd696cd0bc02e6df/raw/6a0f3a502b2722c87e92ea9cffb8a00144f8a76a/fix_fallguys.sh | bash
Runs flawlessly when EAC is enabled properly.
Runs fairly flawlessly on SteamOS and ChimeraOS
Occasionally an Xbox controller wirelessly hooked up to the ChimeraOS Steam Machine would not accuately select blocks around the edges of an island.
Everything works perfectly. Went through almost the entire first scenario over three hours or so and it's fine.
Still running fine in 2022, even on Deck
Dying with friends is excellent
Fantastic game, perfectly playable with current proton releases!
With a headset, occasionally, some metallic pings could be heard as the Rumbler or Toxic weapons were fired. This only happened at the beginning of a volley and only occasionally.
Note, I ran this on both my gaming rig and locally on the GPD Win Max I have running Fedora. It runs fantastically on both, and controllers are recognized out of the box.
Audio is somewhat stuttery
It runs but with some audio stutters. Played a multiplayer match.
Using GE 7-27 and the Steam OS Beta is glorious, like some eggrolls we know.
Works fine with EAC disabled and custom fork of Proton. Downside is that you can't play with those that have EAC enabled.
Copied this custom proton version to /home/username/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d https://github.com/rkfg/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/halo_mcc_test
Slight jitters
Proton-4.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Used custom proton from https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/4.21-GE-1-MCC-2
Occasional audio jitters
Occasionally would see objects in distance disappear.
Go browse local files, delete the easyanticheat .so file, then start the game up. It'll start up fine.
EAC still stopping you from doing matchmaking, regardless of recent update.
Occasional freezing and crashing when in multiplayer custom games
Occasionally freezing
Runs flawlessly on SteamOS and ChimeraOS
I had my doubts, but it looks to run quite well both on my Steam Deck and my ChimeraOS Steam Machine that has an Xbox controller connected.
Doesn't start in WINE nor any version of Proton I have installed. Farthest I made it was to get the dependencies installed.
For some reason the menus keep having the mouse go up on options endlessly...making it a tad bit difficult to select things...
Runs fine, as long as you don't poke around too much
If you end up using GameConquerer on SteamOS/ChimeraOS or traditional distros, this game tends to crash fairly quickly after poking at memory addresses
Don't edit memory values or try any sort of modification injecting for too long, or the game might crash. Outside of that, the game runs flawlessly!
Runs fine, just have to change to fullscreen
The game starts in windowed mode by default, you can set the game to be fullscreen by default only after you finish the tutorial sadly.
Still hard as hell even after all these years. Everything runs fine in Solo. Will try multiplayer when the mates are in town.
Runs flawlessly
Been playing a few hours here, and it runs flawlessly on SteamOS and ChimeraOS natively.
Runs quite well!
40fps, 10w tdp
Flawless Remote Play Together
May need tweaks for better battery, but runs fine!
Runs fine on Deck!
I've been enjoying running back through my childhood games. This works fine!
Game runs fine when you run it through Proton Experimental! Previously, wouldn't open in whatever the stock proton recommendation is. Great fun re-experiencing the childhood.
Can load up fine and menus work fine, however the game will not allow me to join any server after choosing 22 different servers....
While I'm using Proton Experimental by default for all of my games, I believe that the default-selected Proton version will run this fine as well. All hail waifus.
...can't believe I wasted an hour of my life or so testing this game for protondb hahaha. Runs perfectly fine.
Runs fine if I unplug my mouse and plug a controller on in, disabling the touchpad. Odd sensitivity to mouse input...
Is Not Playable With ProtonGE 6.16 and above
The game will start, after 5 minutes of loading even on an NVMe SSD, then freeze at the Play/Multiplayer screen for a few seconds before letting me choose my save. After loading the save, the game will load me in after another 4 minutes of space screens, then load 50 times slower once my character and everything loads into the screen, rendering a powerpoint presentation. Note this is on an i7-1185g7 and a desktop RX6600XT.
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
protontricks 275850 win7
Game takes 5+ min to load, regardless of how nice my hardware is, stutters incredibly often while playing
Game would just stop responding randomly
Dogfights with friends around freighters have never been better.
Played with my Windows friends, splendidly.
This ran out of the box fine in Experimental Proton on my Deck, so I could see it running fine there for PC. I just have GE Proton enabled for all titles to cover my bases.
Loads to the menu, then crashes, freezing everything including gnome. Couldn't even drop to tty.
Fantastic game that runs well
Although the playerbase is fairly dead, its still a great game that I enjoy too this day.
Runs flawlessly!
What a fun little game this is! Truly enjoyable on Deck or my "Steam Machine" I built.
Crashes on start
Can't play with Proton GE 5.8 nor most recent (5.13) Proton.
This game is AMAZING on Linux. Everything runs smooth as butter and I absolutely love this title.
This game runs BEAUTIFULLY!
This game has run fantastically from the get-to on Proton. Just install it and play it. I've actually been getting higher FPS than my run-mates that all use Windoze.
Works flawlessly. Server browser still bugged.
Proton 5.13
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
DRI_PRIME=1
This glorious game has run fantastically since entering Early Access in 2019. I recommend it to all.
Multiplayer with and without mods is working beautifully.
If you go the r2modman route on Linux, for playing with mods, you'll have many more hours of fun after unlocking everyone.
Runs quite well, even all these years later in 2023
Multiplayer lobbies working fine, as well as hosting games for my friends
There haven't been any updates for a while, since Hopoo sold the game to Gearbox, but this runs flawlessly! Also, if you run r2modman as a mod manager for this on Linux, mods run fine! 01897d0e-0990-08d1-3d48-c27e0dbda173 is the code for the mods I usually run, if you play modded :)
Unless you're using Proton Experimental right now, the game may occasionally freeze if you pause and alt-tab away from/back to the game.
While running it on the default proton would result in occasional crashing when paused, running the game in Experimental is flawless!
Proton 5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Proton 5.9-GE-8-ST
This runs fine on Proton GE 5.8, but ever since Epic Games bought Psyonix, they've discontinued the Linux port support. For some reason, Proton 5.13 reverts to the Linux port and doesn't allow online multiplayer.
Proton-6.15-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Fantastic game when running with the newest proton. If you don't have this on Steam, go find a key. Love how plug and play this is on Steam these days.
Proton has excellent multiplayer, the Linux binary is now local-only
Great for Couch Co-op
Multiplayer matches and tournaments run fine.
Note that you will need to use either Proton Experimental or a recent Proton GE version in order to get full access to multiplayer.
I tend to continue running the original Steam version of Rocket League on the latest GE-Proton builds and its running flawlessly. Occasionally, Epic Games will catch on to Steam players playing online on LInux and will patch it so they're back to offline mode. In order to combat that, I recommend using Proton Experimental or the latest GE-Proton builds to keep online functionality.

Works fine so long as you don't use a controller
It seems like it detects my 8bitdo wireless xbox controller by default, but I can't get anywhere past hitting Launch with the controller, as it won't highlight the Continue buttons etc. Seems to only be keyboard and mouse compatible for now.
The controller support via Steam Input might get fixed by either the developer or the community with community layouts in the future, but for right now this seems keeb + mouse only.
Fantastic game
Ran out of the box. It's whitelisted so I shouldn't be surprised, but still ran flawlessly.
Fantastic game, minus the crashes with the recent update.
The game, prior to the current update that I updated to on June 25 2020, ran beautifully. Now it crashes more often the longer you play it...will see if upcoming patches fix this.
gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f %command%
If running on a desktop/laptop, running the game through gamescope launch commands will enable you to get the steam overlay running. Note that my gamescope command is for best performance fit to my external monitor.
gamescope -w 2560 -h 1440 -f %command%
I had to run it on my steam deck to buy anything from the shop. Note the listed launch commands, if you want to enable the steam overlay while playing. Steam overlay isn't working out of the box.
Occasionally there will be some jitter if players jump in or out of your game
As there are new fixes in GEProton7-55 and onwards, you will need that to have a stable experience with EAC in this game. Despite that, there are occasional jitters, but the game is perfectly playable!
Went great!

Ran fine on ChimeraOS!
Ran fine on both my Steam Deck and my purpose-built ChimeraOS Steam Machine for the living room with an Xbox Controller. I'm pretty terrible at it, but it works fine!
Runs fine without mods
Plays fine without mods, but when using mods there is a missing dependency even after using the touchscreen to click the play button on the mod launcher.
Great game for Deck
Will need to use Steam button + Touchpad to configure in the launcher when the game initially starts.
Proton-6.1-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Incredibly jittery and freezes
This game will freeze when loading the tutorial
Runs perfectly well using both the native version and via Proton Experimental
Open game, play, boom.
Runs great in Proton! Don't even try the native port.
Co-op with friends was flawless, but Remote Play Together is a bit broken
Note that you'll have to setup Syncthing or rclone if you want to enable your own cloud save support, as it seems the developers aren't working on that until a finished release.
Runs fine on a ChimeraOS Steam Machine
Build a machine utilizing ChimeraOS to act as a Steam Machine for the living room, and this plays flawlessly there!
Runs fine on SteamOS and ChimeraOS!
Ran perfectly fine, even with community layouts on the ChimeraOS box to enable couch play.
Co-op with friends is flawless with controllers
Multiplayer in co-op online works fine.
Remote Play Together works fine if both of you are using controllers.
- Lock Refresh Rate to 40
- Limit TDP to 10w
- GPU Clock to 1100
- Half Rate Shading on
- All game graphical settings to Medium, Shadows to low
Worked fine with friends!
Very happy with the performance of this game on Deck, and the battery life when tweaks are made.
Occasionally will crash on a loading screen.
Ran perfectly fine with my M$ comrades
Run the game through ProtonGE and also make sure it's set to use DX11. Mine was set to use DX11 and use lower graphical settings by default. Ubisoft put out an update that fixes this for all Steam Deck owners recently.
Changed the prefix to use DX11 from Liam's guide here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNrs1QRa6Bc

Make sure you have the EAC Runtime installed by searching for it in your library and installing it. Also make sure that you search up Proton Experimental, go to settings and then Betas, and opt into Bleeding Edge. Update Proton Experimental, then relaunch the game using that. It will work fine.
Did some raids with friends, leveled up a new friend that joined the game, blew through the NYC campaign again. Works perfectly fine!
Joined and played perfectly fine on the LGC Server
WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command%
Copy DLL method from Eggy works here. Private PvE session works also.
Steps:
Download free to play Battlerite Royale
Copy from:
Battlerite Royale/BattleriteRoyale_Data/Plugins/stun_steamnetworking.dll
To both of these locations:
VRising/VRising_Data/Plugins/x86_64/ VRising/VRising_Server/VRisingServer_Data/Plugins/x86_64/
Link to Eggy's notes: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5845#issuecomment-1134205419
Make sure to switch to the Bleeding Edge branch of Experimental.
Runs fine!
Fullscreen for a 2560 x 1440 monitor only means 2560 x 1080 so there are black bars
Note that if you have a 1440p or higher monitor, you may see black bars.
Runs great on Linux handhelds and desktops!
Ran fine on my GPD Win Mini running Arch and my Steam Machine running ChimeraOS, both updated. A recent update has fixed the 4K and 2560x1440 scaling issues previously mentioned, and this game runs flawlessly now on Proton 9+!
Loads fine, but once you choose your character you get a message like "sandbox not loaded" and the game quits out.
Runs fantastically on Deck. Quite calming.
If experiencing any anomalies, try Experimental. But it should run fine.
