Game crashed on 2nd launch, just as the splash screen begun. Disabling steam recording fixed that behavior. After reeanabling recording it continues to launch fine
GOG Galaxy install script (https://lutris.net/games/gog-galaxy/) with the latest installer from https://www.gogalaxy.com/en/, then install the game from there
works out of the box, no controller support

As soon as there are some technologies placed, the fps never recover to above 60. Hardware is not utilized well
I installed the Windows Version with Wine - because getting native dynamically linked binaries to run on NixOS could be quite time consuming and did not work out of the box. But this is a quirk of NixOS. The native linux version would probably work fine on other distros

Cloud sync is entirely broken. Game didn't manage to successfully sync a single time in weeks, despite any attempts to fix it
Video tooltips showing how buildings work absent entirely. Achievemnts do not work.

On Native and regular Proton, some of the small preview videos when hovering over buildings don't play. Proton-GE fixes this, as others have pointed out.

Achievements didn't work for me on native Linux version. That was the only issue with native. No issues with Windows version on Proton.
If you don't care about Steam achievements, just click play. If you do, switch to any recent Proton version in the compatibility options and the achievements will work..

Only launched when switching to Experimental.
Works almost out of the box, only needed to switch to Experimental
Lovely game, native support tipped me to purchase

I played through the first "continent" with no observed issues.

install, set proton compa -> launch

As written by others before, I had to use Proton GE in order to see the little videos in the building selection popup dialogs.
Works perfectly out of the box.

Runs fine on SteamOS and ChimeraOS!
Ran perfectly fine, even with community layouts on the ChimeraOS box to enable couch play.

Installato e avviato il gioco, senza nessuna modifica alle impostazioni il gioco funziona bene e non ho notato alcun problema.
Giocato con mouse e tastiera e monitor singolo, controller non testato.
Refresh rate to 40Hz
Framerate tanks when zooming out too far.
Use GE Proton. Framerate tanks when zooming out too far. Still runs okay but expected better for a game like this. I didn't expect this game to be such a performance hog. Steam deck will often start actively cooling. Still a positive experience.

Mis à part les vidéos d'aide, le jeu est parfaitement jouable.
Les vidéos d'aide ne s'affichent pas.
Il faut reconfigurer la taille de l'écran à chaque lancement.
Used GE in order to be able to see the little videos in the building selection popup dialogs.
No probs, works out of the box
During long sessions on the same map, the performance steadily degrades over time.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Had to swith to older Proton version 7.0-6 add add PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% to launch options otherwise game would not start
Runs fine!
Utilizing the default recommended proton, loads up and plays fine.
Worked without flaws
So I read the older reports from folks that got access to this game when it was a demo before release and they didn't look too great. This lead me to only try the game with Proton Expiramental and it works flawlessly on my desktop and Steam Deck.

The in-game graphical and stability issues are fixed, not sure if the stability fix is due to the tinkering or a patch released overnight. Using alt-tab to switch out of fullscreen does not minimize the full screen window but places other windows on top, minor annoyance

Most gamers has more powerful machine, or not retina disaplay
Cannot change resolution
When switching or doing any action out of window, it is not act with mouse or keyboard
After switching - no reaction on input.
It related to Retina. I cannot down the resolution.
It is playable as Demo. But that issue with resolution that I cannot change is real performance pain. Also, no Alt+Tabs, because no more input comes. Trying to resole those issues in some way.
Aside from semi-uncommon crashes, which are mostly mitigated how often the game autosaves, the game works fine.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Some difficulty with multiple monitors, some unwieldy moving in and out of fullscreen possibly needed to get game to the correct monitor.
Occasional sudden crashes 2-3 times per level, though autosave is usually very close if not immediately before said crash, minimizing the impact.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
may help if an eventfd: too many open files
error occurs, though this shouldn't be necessary. Tested version is the initial release full version of the game.
The game crashes every 15-30mins or so on my PC which is frustrating. Thankfully the game autosaves frequently so progress isn't lost.
When you hover over a building, the left side of the info screen is missing
game crashes about every 30mins or so
Missing background in main menu and tooltips. Pink and yellow show in their place.

Game can be played on Steam Deck using trackpad as mouse and runs pretty well. There's a graphical issue in the main menu and in tooltip videos when selecting stuctures. It's probably the same video playback issue wich is currently worked on on the last Proton releases for many other games (looks the same)

Videos in the main menu background and tooltips are glitched
Missing artifacts on main screen and tooltips when selecting items. Gameplay was fine.

Demo works out of the box
When positioning the sun structure the fps drops a bit but I think it's not related to proton. And "videos for all components are missing and the main menu background is not displayed correctly." too, but dunno if this is because it's a demo too.

Runs very well out of the box
Videos for all components are missing and the main menu background is not displayed correctly.

Unter Mutter (Windowmanager) kann es nötig sein per Alt+Tab aus dem Spiel und wieder herein zu wechseln.
