Proton 9.0-3 worked like a charm
The game crashes on startup, tried "GE-Proton9-10 Released", with opens and is playable but it's very laggy
Not recommended for Linux at the current time.
My library is shared with Windows so my drive format is exFAT. I needed to follow the exFAT compatdata workaround to bind the shared compatdata exFAT location to the ext4 compatdata location on my linux steam directory.
no issues whatsoever, connects to online multiplayer without tinkering too
Runs great out of the box, but installing mods recommended!
- Install chaudloader: https://github.com/RockmanEXEZone/chaudloader
- Follow the installation instructions
- Finally, install the following mods in mods from chaudloader's installation instructions:
Game runs fine when you run it through Proton Experimental! Previously, wouldn't open in whatever the stock proton recommendation is. Great fun re-experiencing the childhood.
Had to use Proton GE. Did not launch with Proton Experimental. This does not seem to affect Steam Deck Users.
3W TDP
Main Menu Background doesn't animate. This is super minor and doesn't affect the gameplay. Also changing the resolution appears to have issues, but the game runs at 1280x800 fine in 16:9.
Setting the scaling filter to Linear is recommended to smooth the game out.
Runs fine on Deck!
I've been enjoying running back through my childhood games. This works fine!

Game runs perfect out of the box
Aspect ratio seems locked at 16:9, causing both vertical black bars, and side bars.
Even though it's a shame the aspect ratio seems locked at 16:9, causing bars on all sides, the collection runs perfectly. No tinkering needed.
The only thing I tweaked was adding a button in the steam controller profile that turbo fires.
