Within acceptable range but might be small for some.
Works perfectly natively on SteamOS

I've been unable to find a permanent solution to make a controller work with the game. Not recommended for Steam Deck.
Contoller worked first game was launched (desktop mode). Controller didn't work second time game was launched (pressing buttons or moving sticks did nothing).
It's the same whether using the Deck's built in controller or an external one.
Tried switching to game mode. Controller worked once in game mode. Second time game was launched in game mode, controller inputs did nothing.
Switched to desktop mode so I could look up what in game settings might need to be changed. I don't remember what I did but in game settings got the controller working. Until the next time the game was launched, when the controller did nothing again.
I saw it reported here that switching to Proton 6.3-8 fixes control issues so I did that and thought it worked and this would be a permanent solution. But the second time I started the game after switching to Proton, controller input did nothing again.
Any solution only seems to work one time, and then when the game is run again the controller does nothing.

Once you switch to Proton 6.3-8 it works perfectly. The native port is so bugged with controller input that I wouldn't recommend it at all.
It kept not being able to see controller input (Deck and external) when launching the game, even after having configured it to work properly the previous time the game was played.
Switching to Proton 6.3-8 fixed that.

Works great out of the box.
Did not try multiplayer.

Co-op with friends was flawless, but Remote Play Together is a bit broken

If, once in the main menu, the game doesn't recognize input, just touch the screen once and it'll start working, for some reason. Another thing that might be worth mentioning is that the scale of the game is kinda small, so it might be bothering to some to play on the smaller screen of the deck, but I've personally never had problems reading the game or the text on screen.
In main menu the cobtroller might not work until you use mouse

Starts good
Played with Native Linux version (net game is not tested).
excellent linux support
easy to host and connect
play it if you have friends :)

Seemed to work fine once the controller was calibrated and as long you don't unplug secondary controllers during a run
The Deck controller wasn't working, had to go in settings using the touchscreen to reset controller settings
Go into settings/controller setup using the touchscreen to configure it
Using a usb-c station with a usb controller, unplugged controller wasn't functionning when replugged

Trying to do Alt-Tab would crash the game in the background, causing it to have a black screen when trying to get back to it.
Maximized window would freeze and do weird stuff while you can't go back to the game as i mentioned on Full-Screen. The main menu background is always black fsr.
Fine game, plays fine too but sensitive on certain actions.

It runs fine, but I ABSOLUTELY needed to use proton 6-3.8. Using anything later than that had the default controller config unrecognized!
Not sure why everyone says it works "out of the box".. it needs specific proton version.. Even protonGE latest did not work.
The game seems to default to controller and not allow M+K play if it detects one. The Steam Deck flatly refused to let me use M+K to play the game.
Had some disconnects, seemed like server issues, not Proton issues.
There is a black screen when the game is booted that lasts a few seconds longer than expected, especially the first time. Game otherwise runs fine. I've played a few games where it seems like some specific issue triggered an automatic failure for Steam Deck compatibility. I finished this game last night; I have no idea why it's marked as incompatible.
Works fantastically. Truly baffling that it isn't verified. It even has an official developer Steam Deck controller configuration.
Listed an issue with cloud save syncing, but had in fact actually synced properly.
When one of the external controllers disconnected and we re-connected it there was no way to "reattach" it to one of player characters. It seemed to be detected as completely new controller. We tried changing Steam Deck order of controllers, but no matter the settings none of 3 controllers would be able to control the character. We had to restart the game to fix it.
I configured one of the rear buttons to be a turbo fire button while stress-testing
First, the game runs completely fine natively on Linux and has done for as long as it's been on Steam, so I don't know why it's labelled as unsupported on Deck.
Second, the performance on Deck is great! I was hoping the Deck would prove a more capable machine than the Switch. I stress-tested it with the usual set of mutators that I like to play with (infinite ammo, rocket chaos, full health for everyone, no limits) and the Deck handled it without any issue, even when I set one of the Deck's rear buttons to a turbo fire button so I could spam rockets as fast as possible (this is the only control change I made, to be clear; I didn't change the layout or anything, but the protondb site doesn't let me specify just this change, so I had to fill in the form that way). This configuration tends to get really slow on the Switch once a big firefight starts, but the Deck has no problems with it. The only time I saw slowdown was when I started a city-wide fire. To be fair, this also chugs on my 16 core, 64 GB RAM desktop, so that's clearly an issue with the game's code rather than an issue with the hardware.
First time load of the game is very delayed on a black screen. Could have been seconds, but it felt like maybe 2-5 minutes. However, subsequent launches provided no issues
The initial listing of the game being "Unsupported" and the fact that the game loaded to a black screen for a few minutes supported the theory that it deserved the "Unsupported" rating. However, it eventually acted as if "it decided to go ahead and work" and I was immediately in game with the controls working as the game expects out of box.
This was my first time playing Streets of Rogue, so I had no familiarities or expections of what controls "should" feel like. The game starts with a tutorial and every action the game asked me to take worked with no problem. The game has a certain "looseness" that you may not expect from a top-down pixel art game, so I'm assuming attacking enemies is less precise than doing so on MK+B, but I don't know for sure.
I haven't completed a run yet, but I did have a lengthy run ended me in the Park stages and with level 10 and I don't get the impression that I'm missing any controls or I'm not able to do anything specific in the game because I'm playing on the Steam Deck. It appears to work as intended.
Fonctionne parfaitement !
le jeu fonctionne parfaitement en native et j'ai 180h de jeu :)

Works perfectly with Proton now, no crashes after 30 min
Native version doesnt start, stays in black screen. Proton version crashes under 15 minutes

Game works Perfectly. You can use Steam Remote Play Together and Workshop Contents without any issues!
Proton-6.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.21-GE-1

Use the native version. It performs just as well and doesn't crash.
Crashed about 15 minutes into the game. Native version never crashed over several hours.
In the native version, I had to go to the controls menu and switch between keyboard and controller to get the game to detect my controller.

Just Works (TM).
Disabled Steam Input to make controller work.
Native Version often does not work. Proton version is more reliable.
