Zombies in this game are amazingly fun they focused alot on map quality and fun of the game and did something unique and different

Sometimes doing actions or changing video settings would cause xwayland to crash thus crashing steam and the game
There is stuttering and very low fps unplayable untill I installed dxvk async and enabled it in launch options
Multiplayer/Zombies online work great just wish there was more players, how ever playing with friends works amaingly
For anyone who has issues with low fps or stuttering try installing dxvk async and pasting this in the games launch option " DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command% " I went from 40fps avg and 15fps low to 90fps avg and 80fps low

gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Only two minor issues:
- Can't tab back in after tabbing out. Might be a Wayland/Hyprland issue though.
- When starting the game back up there's pop us saying that the game did not close successfully even tough it didn't crash. After selecting "no" it starts up normally.

Crashing and Instability is so Prevalent that it is not an Enjoyable Experience to play on Steam Deck
A notice would pop up if the game's configuration ever changed, that would have to be dismissed with the touchscreen.
Cutscene audio would sometimes become out of sync with the video.
Game would often drop to low single digit framerates every 15-30 minutes of gameplay, and stay there. This could be fixed by exiting to the main menu. However when this happened, the framerate could be so low that the game would not properly register inputs.
Crashes were a regular occurrence. Approximately every 15-30 minutes, in addition to the slowdown.
All issues related to crashing and framerates also apply to zombies and multiplayer.
Swapping to Proton GE and Proton Experimental did nothing to alleviate these issues.

Runs fine at roughly 60fps with reccomend settings throughout campaign. Despite crashes, game has frequent saves and quick load times.
Compass and in-game computer screens hard to read. No text scaling in options. Subtitles are fine.
Crashes and freezes during some cutscenes, especially while accessing loadout before mission start. Disable shadow caching options to reduce frequency, reccomend restart every hour to avoid surprise crash.
Added gyro with left trigger pull. Changed left stick click to left grip buttons. Right stick click and B button to right grips.

DXVK_HUD=version DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
installed dxvk async through arch user repository and all the stuttering is gone, once you enter a new location there is no need to wait for shaders to load it'll be a great experience just like on widnows.
"it appears infinite warfare did not quit properly. Do you want to run in save mode"whatever I press afterwards the game crashes.
Doesn't even get to main menu
Stuttering the first few minutes you play in a new area but when shaders are done compiling it's a great smooth experience.
Runs as it should right out of the box

it performs well overall. but the high video ram occupation is really annoying
the game occupies all of my video memory (12GB) and sometimes loses frames
Works fine on Proton Experimental
It would occasionally take textures a few min to load in- this is mainly noticeable when I'm playing Zombies.
Note that, if running newer Proton GE versions, it might not like that when initially opening. Also it seems to not like eGPU setups, as I occasionally have to reconnect the eGPU to have the game utilize it.
Yes, the guns ok in linux !
The game runs good single and multiplayer mod!

Runs well overall with a little bit audio crackling and mouse lagging
fps isn't smooth when moving
Runs mostly fine. I do sometimes have the issue that the game runs at a really slow FPS for a few seconds.

The game freezes in a black screen, after the splash screen is loaded.
Tried this with both Pop! OS and Linux Mint. Steam Proton versions used were Experimental, 5.13 and 5.0. The only choice left is to force close the game now. Please update if there are any tweaks necessary to play this game on Linux.

MUST have shader preload on. otherwise, my zombies in space land matches (3 solo's) worked 100%.
during initial scene loading (notably zombie "scene" main menu) it's a little slow to load then windows. it's a little messed up during this. unsure if this is BECAUSE the scene is always normally loaded first, or something else. either way. not a problem itself, just noteworthy.
shader preload is REQUIRED for good gameplay, but is abnormally slow (4fps, around half an hour i'd guess, I alttabbed out instead of waiting for it to do it's thing, and tabbed back later)
shader preload normally smoothes the game, but is not too much a issue to leave off in windows. it's REQUIRED in linux (manjaro?) otherwise you get nasty stutters and fps drops.
I only played zombies, don't care about multiplayer in general, but since the functionality is technically multiplayer, i marked as such. it loaded my profile, and everything except GAME settings off their servers no hitch.
low Fps stutters and no mouse movement
after switching to fullscreen
no mouse movement input registered except for the mouse buttons
It runs out of the box using Proton 5.13-2, even without any tweaks. Making it a pretty simple experience.
Added "gamemoderun %command%" to launch options
Experienced some stutters during my plays both in SP and in Zombies.
Multiplayer doesn't work not because of any anti-cheat, but because Activision permanently shut down the servers. Other than that everything works pretty much flawlessly apart from the occasional stutter, which does not make the game unplayable.
Multiplayer servers have been down for the past month or so because Activision for some reason doesn't have servers running for PC. Custom zombies matches with my friends worked. I get around 80-90 fps on low texture settings and everything else normal.
The game runs nearly flawless with Proton 5.13-1
Everything A1 except for lag during cut scenes

The stuttering events are not often and slow down the game only for a few moments.
Accually not really noticeble, but for sake of transparency i had rarely minor mouse trailing.
Some slow downs on certain moments, but otherwise very smoth on highest settings
Using Proton 5.13. Game started up like on windows

Possible to play through the entire game, zombies and multiplayer. But this game has a dead player-base.
Disable Sun and Spot caching. High Textures uses WAY too much vram (to get high textures you need over 8gb vram.) Disable shader pre-loading in-game since steam uses it's own. 6GB VRAM users: Very Low or Low textures. 8GB VRAM users: Low to Normal Textures. 24GB VRAM users: High Textures. Frame-Rate is really good however.
Constant stuttering too.
Crashes in Campaign after 30-60 minutes (Playing survivalist difficulty.)
Please follow the guide that's here whats right for you since running this through proton is a stuttery and vram mess. Only play this game if you are interested in the campaign or playing zombies alone.

"Steam needs to be running to play this game." Dialogue.
Doesn't boot past the launcher because Steam "isn't running" apparently when running it direct from steam.

If you're only interested in the multiplayer, don't even try it.
Multiplayer isn't just dead (no players) - Activision shut down the matchmaking servers for everyone.

silently crashes after splash screen on proton 5.13 (valve release)

After so much time this game is still not working , same DirectX Error: DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error.
PS: I dont know what is this guy talking about some magical wine patch "Wine patch by johncena141 from 1337x".
Fatal DX error still.

Fatal DX error on launch

"DirectXe encountered an unrecoverable error. Check the readme for possible solution"

Crashes on start with "Schwerwiegender DirectX-Fehler".

Crashes with a Fatal DirectX error, just like everyone else. Someone managed to run the standalone non-Steam version under Wine in Lutris. I replicated his configuration into Proton, but it still would not work, which leads me to believe it might be an issue in the steam version. Either way, not starting until whatever is broke is fixed.

Game tries to start but crashes giving a DirectX error.

Crashes with a "fatal directx error" ("schwerwiegender Direct-X Fehler")
