HTC Vive controllers appear in the game but can't select anything in the initial menu.
Load or create a working controller configuration WHILE the game is running. I will try and upload mine soon. You need: pointer click, teleport and pinch grip. Extend hand is also useful.
Game ran fine the first 2 levels. No issues at all. Didn't check loading saves or focus switching.
Played 3 missions (2 hours) online with a friend without any issues.
Tried some launch options and some former workarounds. Doesn't start anymore.
You can start Training and get kicked after a short while. Every other mode doesn't work due to anti-cheat.
Menu and ingame seems to work as expected. Bit of a rough performance but that could be the iGPU.
Game launches into Menu. Multiplayer kicks due to EAC missing with error message sandbox client.
Game crashes due to missing EAC support. Training and Crates work.
Won't run at all.
Mouse doesn't remain centered while aiming. Invisible pointer gets stuck on window frame. Aiming feels weird.
Intel GPU doesn't fully support Vulkan. WineD3D11 runs great.
Crashes without these launch parameters:
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Rename borderlands executable to Launcher.exe!
Multiple hours of multiplayer with Windows users. Crashed once or twice, alt-tab might mess up mouse behaviour. Runs pretty well.
Rename 'Borderlands2.exe' to 'Launcher.exe'
Savegames in steam cloud are platform specific. Be sure to manually carry them over.
Renamed 'Borderlands2.exe' to 'Launcher.exe'
Sometimes the game crashes due a memory issue. Seems a bit more frequent than the Windows version.
Both mf-install and mf-installcab are required.
Had to start with 4.11-13 once to enable multiplayer.
Multiplayer runs fine, Singleplayer doesn't. If you tinker with it it is doable but coop will not work at the moment.
Losing and resuming focus sometimes results in a black screen.
Singleplayer will not launch. You can use an executable without DRM but then Spec Ops will not work.
Multiplayer runs perfectly fine. Singleplayer is up to tinkering or won't run at all.
Singleplayer won't run at all. You can circumvent DRM but then coop mode won't work.
Singleplayer now works with Proton Experimental + Steam Beta. Didn't try Spec-Ops co-op online yet.
(Reported experimental version: Proton Experimental)
Steam Beta
Played a multiplayer game. Sound is horrible even on low settings. Game works well enough, no crashes or anything.
As long as EAC keeps magically working this feels native. No issues at all in 4 hours.
Found no way to close Ubisoft overlay messages so I disabled it. Runs perfectly in Singleplayer. Did not test Multiplayer.
Sometimes both chunks of the ground and most of the trees flicker or outright disappear. It's quite noticable but happens somewhat infrequent.
Sometimes the framerate drops heavily until the arena is reloaded.
First fight crashes if you don't salute fast enough afterwards.
Game runs ootb perfectly. Sensitivity setting sometimes randomly resets.
Ending cinematic doesn't play correctly, sadly.
The missing cutscenes and occasional crashes limit the enjoyment.
No cutscenes show video but all can be skipped with ESC.
Runs fine the first 30+ mins with minor stutters on Proton 5.13-1.
Seems as buggy as on Windows. Generally runs okay-ish.
Had to edit the render.cfg to change the ingame resolution.
Disabling Esync seems to have prevented crashing after/before cinematics completely.
Edit the config file to change the resolution. Runs great other than that. Doesn't run with Esync.
Modified TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML with lots of value="Low", no fullscreen, borderless window and vsyncEx value="off". Game crashes otherwise before ingame options can be changed.
Low fps. Not more issues than running it on windows. Crashed once in 3 hours.
Alt-Tab can make a mouse cursor appear while in first person.
Added "-changedir" to the launch parameters.
Bad performance during plant selection before a stage. Game itself runs perfectly.
Plant selection is choppy
Didn't start without launch options because it crashed on CryEngine init(). Added some launch option - didn't help. Removed them again, everything works perfectly. No idea but I'm happy.
EAC error, then intro movie plays with sound only. Black screen remains. Not playable.
I tried most suggested workarounds but the game still crashes frequently when using the journal.
Borderless window is needed. Otherwise the gnome status bar is still visible.
Game crashes everytime the journal is closed.
Some stuttering happens. Might be due to shader caching.
10+ hours with cross platform multiplayer. Crashed once. Doesn't work as well on iGPU.
Crashes on exit since Scorched Acres update. Didn't notice anything else being broken. Played about an hour of 3 player multiplayer sessions with mixed characters with windows users.
Game runs really well with mouse and keyboard.
Analog stick doesn't move character but only lags game.
In-game tutorial videos aren't properly played. Cinematics work perfectly fine.
Game start successfully but the controllers are not recognized. Selecting a custom controller configuration does not help.
Played the tutorial and first level without issues.
Sometimes saber would not become "locked" in hand with grip button.
Proton 5.0-7 doesn't handle xbox live login, Proton 5.8-GE-MF-2 makes it through the login but crashes immediately afterwards.
Small graphical glitches but perfectly playable.
Sometimes the view through the large window does not display correctly. A test frame is visible shortly before it goes back to normal.
The experimental beta branch works perfectly. Streamed about an hour with Steam Controller. Don't enable gamepad though, that made things break for me.
protontricks 611670 xact
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
Intro video as well as mission selection crashed the game on Proton 5.13-1.
Game is playable but issues are noticeable and annoying.
Text is messy and incomplete, some terrain is noticably darker and in general some very noticable artifacts.
Game runs well enough but not perfect. Hit a few stutters, but most of them in cutscenes. Finished the intro, tutorial and first minutes.
Every level load seem to crash the game. By restarting it you can begin in the new level but it gets old quickly.
Won't connect to servers. Developer won't work on support anytime soon - https://steamcommunity.com/app/707010/discussions/0/2828702372997674021/
Loading takes very long and gameplay seems laggy at least in the 10 mins I played. Maybe it gets faster once shaders are processed completely.
Shadows look a bit funny (spotted rather than smooth). Ran perfectly otherwise. Tried the starting camp, outside area and some enemies.
