Had some issues to run the game because of the uplay/ubisoft authentication. I installed ubisoft connect via protontricks to try solve it but finally I cleared all installations on prefix in protontricks. So to be honest I don't know if it was unnecessary or not.
Had to downgrade drivers to the 565, otherwise game is not playable.
To sum up, most important steps to make it work are:
- Install 565 drivers
- Set up gamemoderun %command% launch option
- Use proton 9.0-4
- Maybe using protontricks to install ubisoft connect and then clear prefix but here I'm not sure - I've tried so many launch options to run this game that I can't say if it was very needed.

Plays fine, you may have to launch twice on install while Uplay sets it's self up, looks and plays beautifully.
The game froze / crashed maybe 3 times throughout the entire game, which took me about 30 hours to play, so not a big deal.
Good game, plays well

Set to capture mouse on fullscreen
Mouse not captured
Had to manually close in steam after exiting game

Güzel çalışıyor, medium ayarda 40-50 fps oynanıyor, ultra ayarda 30 fps oynanıyor ama fan sesi geliyor
Grafikleri düşürdüm low ayarda oynadım.
Ubisoft connect için internet gerekli
Ultra ayarda bile köşe yumuşatma iyi çalışmıyor
Ubisoft Connect runs in the background after closing the game, you have to manually cancel it if you want to relaunch the game.

Occasional FPS dips, but nothing too major. Have to force Stop from Steam to register the game has actually closed.

Except of Uplay, everything is fine

I can play this game 95% of the time without any issues. Graphics, audio, etc. all work perfectly with Proton Experimental. The only problem is that the Ubisoft launcher thing sometimes crashes and borks the game. I don't lose my saved games but it's very annoying.

Some stuttering and spikes on new drivers, lower settings fix this.
Game might crash without certain tweaking.

I had good fps (~200fps)for 99% of the time but in some cases the game lagged, but only for a couple seconds. Not to bad.
Worked good. No Problem.
Worked out of the box and only with some stutters every 30 - 40 minutes but they only took some seconds to go back to normal(~200fps).

This is a great game. Got it for 5$ on steam sale and is well worth it for a linux game collection.
Everything works, co-op works great. Game needs to be restarted after initial install for uplay bloatware to start working. Controller doesn't work out of the box. Requires enabling steam input in the game settings, use default profile, then controllers will work.
Controller doesn't work out of the box. Need to enable steam input in the game's steam settings then controllers will work. Sometimes theres a glitch when using controller and driving a car, where the controller gets stuck reversing the car.
Played co-op with my friend. Everything worked great.
Works out of the box.

Massive fps drops are simply annoying and do not allow you to enjoy the game. Changing the graphics settings does not solve the problem.
While driving a vehicle, the left trigger, which is responsible for the brake and reverse gear, does not work. It is also not possible to assign this button both in the game settings and in the settings of the steam deck controller.
А terrible experience. You can forget about stable fps. With a limit of 40 fps, the frame rate can drop to 25 at the lowest graphics settings. Even a lock at 30 fps does not help. Plus, every 5-10 minutes, the terrain is loaded, during which the FPS drops to 20.
I highly do not recommend this game for purchase on steam deck

Played the whole game in coop mode with a friend

Downgrade nvidia to 550, but it stutters after an hour of gameplay.
With nvidia driver version 560 the game goes directly to black screen. Had to downgrade the nvidia driver to 550, with that it works, however after about half an hour to an hour of gameplay it starts to stutter, restarting the game helps but is annoying. Also when quitting the game it has to be forcefully stopped via Steam, as it leaves behind the ubisoft connect running.

NVIDIA Driver Version: 565.57.1 работает отлично, на 560 был чёрный экран из-за оверлея P.S.: gamemoderun %command%

Very minor tweaking required to get to run on Nvidia hardware, not sure if AMD has the overlay issue.

Game was freezing at the first information window. I suspected ubisoft overlay was not playing nicely with Proton and that turned out to be the case.
Go into the prefix for the installed game: ../compatdata//pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Ubisoft Game Launcher/settings.yaml
Game ID in this case should be: 552520
Look for the lines that say: overlay: enabled: true
Change the true to a false with your favorite text editor and save
looks like nvidia drivers messed it up

runs alright, needed no real tinkering or configuration after switching to btrfs. dont use ntfs with proton and save yourself a headache.

I had no issues playing co-op with a friend on windows.
I had no issues running the game. I only set the proton version to experimental and it worked.

%&$* Ubisoft Connect, Otherwise Great Experience!
I bought this for co-op multiplayer with a friend. The only quirks are that after the initial account creation Ubisoft Connect failed to connect upon launching the game. I found a solution on the Steam Deck subreddit of initializing a VPN to get it to connect. Fortunately I have a quality VPN subscription, but I think you could do a system IPv4 setting of some kind too if you have this issue, based on the reddit post. Apart from that, I got randomly booted from multiplayer once within a few hours of total MP play time. Those are truly the only quirks I've had.
Smooth experience overall for online co-op!
As has been previously reported, some overlays seem to be the culprit for the game not working with Nvidia drivers 555 and 560. Disabling those fixed the issues for me. Steam's Overlay doesn't seem to cause any issues, but Ubisoft's Overlay needs to be disabled (can be simply done in the settings of the Ubisoft Connect app, which can be opened by clicking on its tray icon). Other overlays might work, depending on which ones you use. vkBasalt (I guess this is technically an overlay) causes the same issue as Ubisoft's Overlay. MangoHud on the other hand works fine. Those are just the ones I tested, others may or may not work. As mentioned here multiple times, downgrading Nvidia drivers to 550 works too, but disabling those overlays seems to be a better/easier solution (and the only one if you're using Wayland, since olders drivers will probably make the game barely playable anyway without the explicit sync support introduced in 555).

Not functional on NVIDIA's latest drivers 555 / 560
Given a black screen, downgrading to 550 does fix

Lots of tinkering involved BUT this may just be due to my specific setup as it ran with no issues or any tinkering on Steam Deck. See notes
Launching required disabling the overlay and forcing the game out of fullscreen mode.
Fullscreen can be initiated, but it crashes the game.
Frequent Crashes UNTIL taken out of Fullscreen Mode
Some stuttering after hours of play
For context I am running Arch Linux fully updated as of 8/18/2024, I tested gameplay with the nvidia, nvidia-open, and nvidia-dkms drivers. My system specs are...
Ryzen 3600X 16 GB DDR4 RAM RTX 4070 QTile/KDE Window Manager w/ both X11 and Wayland installed (important to debugging actually)
When I first installed the game it would launch, show 99 fps on a black screen and it would just stay there. Forever. I tried verifying game files, forcing DX11 in the launch options, uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice. By this point I figured it must just not run on Linux until I saw everyone here on ProtonDB saying it runs perfectly fine with no tweaks. So I downloaded it on my Steam Deck and sure enough it runs without tweaks.
I google.....a ton, and I find some people are having issues with FC5 with certain compositor settings and that made me ask what if I just switched from X11 to Wayland entirely. Sure enough, I can now get to the warning screen that pops up after the black screen at game launch....but it would freeze here after several seconds.
Googled more, then found some people recommend disabling the overlay. So I did this, sure enough now I can get to the main menu, and load into the game. My final issue was crashing 3-5 minutes into gameplay. It would just freeze, audio would continue, and I had to force close the game.
Then I stumbled upon the fix by accident by actually giving up. I installed Windows, launched the game and verified it worked. Switched from Fullscreen to Windowed as that is what I prefer on my ultrawide...Then had the idea that I never tried Windowed on Linux. I rebooted back to Linux and my settings were already saved to the cloud so it launched in Windowed.
I just played a little under an hour straight of gameplay with zero issues. Shaders had to compile for the first few minutes of gameplay so there was some stuttering then it was perfectly smooth. No crashing, no freezing, no error messages, worked perfectly. Hopefully this helps someone else who may be experiencing the same thing on Arch with KDE or Qtile (the game now works in both KDE and Qtile using both Wayland and X11).
So in summary, or TLDR...: Disable the overlay, switch to windowed mode.

only small stuttering when first booting the game, after a few minutes it fixes itself
played for about 3 and a half hour with my friend (from the same country of course) and we had 0 lag or connection problems, only once the game "disconnected" me but it was due to the game freezing when loading a new area, i have an HDD
the game runs 4 times better than it did on windows 11 in my case, 0 stuttering only at the start maybe but that's normal for my PC specs and the fact that i have an HDD, but it definetly runs so so SO much better than on windows, i had to do 0 tinkering too just straight up booted the game, logged onto ubisoft and started playing with my friend, with the same savefile i had on windows too so no issue at all.
Just works.
NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER

Just works.

To solve the Black Screen when the game doesn't start
This is caused by the Nvidia 555 Drivers
Downgrade from version 555.58.02.1-1 to version 550.90.07-1
sudo downgrade nvidia-dkms nvidia-utils garuda-nvidia-config lib32-nvidia-utils
and choose version 550.90.07-1
also add to /etc/pacman.conf
IgnorePkg = garuda-nvidia-config lib32-nvidia-utils nvidia-dkms nvidia-utils
This will prevent the upgrade to the nividia drivvers until they fix the issue!
Happy Gaming!
P.S:Thanks to my Friend Bl4cKj4cK21 for the solution! :)

Renamed the overlay.dll and overlay64.dll files in the compatdata because of a notification that would not go away. No UPlay overlay anymore.
UPlay my behated. Also it seems like people with NVidia cards are having massive issues.
Não inicia após exibir a uplay. Jogo não inicia.
After Updating the OS Ubisoft Connect does not run. Can't sync to cloud saves. The game does not run, just hangs.
Didn't work with Nvidia 555 drivers, also not when reverting to 550. Tried all Proton layers until 6.0 with both default & GE

I confirm that the game doesn't work with 555 nvidia drivers
So far I can't find any workaround
