Runs great under Proton 4.11.
Hangs at a black screen using the Linux native client.
Once running, no issues.
Occasional flickering textuers on some in-world objects.
Takes a LONG time (~2hrs) to compile shaders on first run.
After banishing UPlay overlay, works great.
Disable UPlay overlay, otherwise crash.
Uplay overlay disabled, disabled Esync. Running great so far through the introduction.
Launcher runs, game throws several errors on start. Unable to add components to the Proton Prefix.
Tesselation off, all other settings High, including FXAA. Very playable.
Occasional chopiness in framerate, especially if tesselation is enabled. Only slightly more exagerated than running under Windopws.
When game was minimised, mouse control was lost and had to restart.
Works great with no tweaks required.
Punkbuster supported, seems to work OOTB.
Started through one of the 3 main campaigns, all good so far with no tweaks required.
<20 frames in the menu and in-game. Minimal settings with reduced render resolution.
Introduction video sound is heard, no window is displayed in the foreground. Cannot be switched to.
Run well, 60FPS+ all turned up.
Occasional tearing, regardless of VSync setting.
Runs very well, maximum settings. 2560x1600 resolution.
Occasional low frame rate, usually when entering a large or new area.
Works after using "protontricks 223750 vcrun2013 corefonts xact d3dcompiler_43" after running game once. Running fullscreen 2560x1600 with low/medium settings for now.
Enabled Vulkan, much better performance.
Launch options needed as from others:
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json %command% +r_renderAPI -1 +com_SkipIntroVideo 1 +com_skipKeyPressOnLoadScreens 1
Starts loading on Splash Screen, then hangs.
GE Proton seems to load the furthest if the bar is to be believed (roughly 4/5). Most versions of Proton hang at a Black screen. Proton 6 (including latest GE 6.9) and above show the splash screen and start loading, then hang.
Stuttery Intro Videos, Crash to Desktop when Main Menu should appear.
Symlink to dx12 exe in the Launcher folder, works perfectly with Proton Experimental. **ln -s ../bin/evilgenius_dx12.exe eg2.exe**
Doesn't start.
Also tried 5.13-6, Experimental & 6.1-GE-2. Same effect for all.
No music, otherwise runs fine.
Winetricks installation of directplay and directsound throws errors regarding qasf.dll and quartz.dll. Unable to find a solution.
Runs really well, high settings, smooth.
Have to disable UPlay overlay, otherwise crashes on first splash screen.
Config menu works, seems to crash unless full-screen native resolution is used. Gets to the main menu, can start or load a game. Crashes at the end of loading. Tweaks had no effect.
Had to specifically set 3.16-9 to run, the default Proton causes a hang at a bright white screen. Runs perfectly following this selection.
Close to Desktop ~50% along the first loading screen.
Identical behaviour on Proton 7.0-6 & GE 7-50.
Single Player works great. Linux - Windows user Multiplayer shows as incompatible.
Works without issue, Tutorial + Single Player campaign, maximum graphical settings.
Playable, but becomes very choppy in busier environments.
Runs very poorly, even with minimum settings and below native resolution.
Copied DLL's as advised from bin/Win64shared to bin/Win64, runs great on Mid to High settings.
Tried the various tweaks already given, either hangs at a white screen or crashes immediately.
Game launches a black screen, then closes to desktop.
Tried tweaks as per previous entries (Disable ESync, D3D11, use D9VK), previous Proton versions. All produce the same effect of a black screen close to desktop.
Black Screen, hangs and force closes after ~30 seconds.
Tweaks had no effect.
Game crashes to desktop after the two static splash screens, presumably as it tries to play the first video. Haven't had any success in disabling them. Tweaks have no effect.
Won't start, tweaks have no effect. Using Steam Testing recommended Proton version.
Crash to desktop after 1-2 seconds at the main menu splash screen.
Black screen on start.
None of the tweaks previously used had an effect.
Occasional stutter.
protontricks 214510 d3dx9_41
Works great with Linux client selected.
Had to select the Linux client from the Beta options within the Steam client, seems to default to the Windows version, but this generates the 'cannot find ns2.exe' error seen by others.
Shows in taskbar, does not start.
Won't install the new Origin Client.
Launcher cannot connect to the internet to download the full client.
Stutters heavily when transitioning between levels, no cutscenes.
In-game performance is great.
With Proton version and set and VSync off, works a treat.
Flickering mouse cursor, disable VSync to resolve.
3.16-9 Proton required, otherwise draws a partial blank screen.
Works great, occasional stutter aside.
Occasional freeze/drop in frames.
Stutter/hangup with quick camera movements, on par with performance under Windows. No tweaks tested, out of the box.
Manual start, otherwise works great.
Running the game opens the game folder in WINE file manager. Running the executable from here runs the game up with no other issues.
Runs without any tweaks, been through several campaign missions, no performance issues. Multiplayer not tested. Running in a window at maximum resolution available.
If the crash issue can be resolved, the game otherwise runs really well under Vulkan.
DX11 causes significant pauses/stuttering. Switching to Vulkan fixes this.
Lockup/Crash at random intervals. Still investigating.
Launcher doesn't display correctly, but functions. Single player runs flawlessly. No multiplayer time yet.
