Works out of the box with no problems
The game is working amazing without any extra modifications.

Works smoothly including multiplayer features

Works perfectly
Steam cloud is disabled for this game (on windows too), make sure to back up your save manually and import it.

Ran beautifully OOTB, PvP included. Use blue sentinels mods for protection against PvP hackers though.
Set L4 and R4 to L3 and R3 respectively because pressing L3 to jump while also using the left stick to run always made me mess up the jumps. putting camera lock on R4 was just for QoL

Works out of the box with proton 9.0-4
played for over 100 hours and beat the game three times without experiencing a single crash, framerate is stable and loading times are fine. game works perfectly.

Runs great, works well with Xbox One controller
Reminder: Your saves aren't stored in Steam Cloud, so be sure to back them up elsewhere.
Save files can be found at: ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/374320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/Dark Souls III
Everything Worked

gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Game intermittently stutters, but from my research this just seems to be the game itself and not caused by Proton.

It more or less just works.
One crash after many hours and a lot of alt tabs this behavior would have crashed it on windows.
It also ran with less visual bugs than on windows with my amd gpu the rx 7600 normally the overlay that hides load transitions doesn't work on windows for this gpu does work on here.
Simply installed/launched and its running beautifully!
Game "launches", can hear the sound, no errors in log, but no graphics at all. Just stays on the Steam app

I couldn't play the game out of the box(proton experimental). I had to use Proton9-20 for it to work.

Runs as smooth as butter. There's only slightly more noticeable stuttering in areas where it even stutters on Windows
Slightly worse stuttering than Windows in several areas, but overall very playable and almost compares to running on Windows.
Overall, it's amazing playing this game with Proton 9.0-3, even for online plays. There can be little stutters in several areas like The Dreg Heap, where it even stutters a bit on Windows but it's still extremely smooth most of the times, and totally playable.
Works OTB

-Used forced experimental. Worked immediately. -Successfully brought save file from Windows to Manjaro. -Only weird issue was on my 8bitdo Pro 2 controller, my A button and B button were swapped on startup. This didn't happen on Windows. Probably a seperate thing though. Was able to fix buttons with Steam Input.

9.9/10
Fullscreen has black bars on top and bottom. But then again, I have a 16:10 monitor and this might as well just be a From Soft game general issue rather than a Proton issue...
If not for the very, very minor issue of the fullscreen setting, I would call it indistinguishable from native.

Played the whole game with both DLCs using a PS5 controller with no issues
like all fromsoft titles you need to be standing still or in a menu to Alt-Tab without flickering

-w 2560
When in main menu without steam flags, prominent black borders on bottom and right side
When not forced to 1440p via steam flags UI overlays only a third of the game window, window is 1080p on 2k display, unable to change resolution or set it to windowed (game freezes for couple seconds and reverts to original settings)
When forced to 1440p when gameplay begins cursor is forced to second monitor, bringing it back to game window causes the player camera to spin uncontrollably When not forced to 1440p, whenever mouse leaves game window the game completely freezes
Frequent FPS drops
Game completely freezes after a couple minutes of gameplay

Just ran for me.. no tinkering required
Works perfectly!

Work out of the box
Had to enable Steam Input because it thinks it supports my Razer Raiju but none of the inputs worked. Didn't try a more common controller.
Flawless, no issues

I can determine that, as our lord and savior Hodd Toward once said, "It just, works."
DS3 cursor gets replaced with the OS one if you middle click, you can fix it by left clicking.

Works great out of the box
Cloud games don't work for this game in general (Windows also affected)
Didn't try any mods

On Sway specifically I've had some flickering with fullscreen mode. Going into Windowed and making the game fullscreen through Sway fixed that easily though.
DS3 runs really well out of the box. No major glitches, performance issues or visual problems. The problem with Sway is a relatively niche thing that can be expected with a Tiling WM, so no surprises here.
At 2560x1440 black bar appears at bottom of screen in main menu. Disappears once game begins.

Work Perfectly fine
no tinkering, no wondering aroud to make the game work, just install and play, that's it
Work out of the box
Simply works

No problems...
... it just works, runs perfectly fine without any issues.

TDP 10W
Best experience was achieved by using 1280x800 resolution with high setting and limiting to 45 FPS with TDP 10W.

Runs perfectly out of the box
Even mods run perfectly
Runs out of box.

I still have to run older version of Proton to play at all because I don't wanna see screen tearing. Pretty sure anything newer will work fine as well.
