I've set GE=Proton for all my library. Wouldn't deem it a tinker setup. However, Game ist running flawlessly and I do enjoy every minute of this sad and magical story!
Working perfectly out of the box with proton 8.0.
Mild audio crackling when resuming from sleep.

After setting up ProtonGE + Steam input for controller, the game worked great aside from the mildly irritating issue with the cloud saves.
My xbox 360 controller was not automatically detected by game (e.g. just turn it on and it was picked up as is usually the case for other games that support controllers). However, when I launched steam in online mode, then went to the game's properties in Library and under the Controller section changed to "Enable Steam Input", I was able to download an official profile for my controller and play without any further issues related to the controller.
Saved games themselves worked fine. The only issue is that I have my cloud saves globally disabled and this game does not respect that setting. Every time I launched steam, I would have to go back to this game's properties and manually disable the cloud saves for this specific game (despite having a global setting of disabling steam cloud). It did this regardless of whether steam was launched normally or in offline mode. Which was kind of annoying.
Works perfectly with latest stable Proton, including PlayStation button prompts.

Capped to 40FPS for extra battery life
Running smooth.
I originally experienced stutters but it was due to my slow hard drive. As soon as I switched to an SSD it ran perfectly.
Worked great!
Crashes on launch with Intel ARC, even on latest 6.2 kernel.
Does not work for ARC GPUs, tested A770.
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0000000000000000 at address 000000035907FE45 (thread 011c), starting debugger...
After 15 hours gaming, the game suddenly can't launch. Originally I think it's because SteamOS upgrade (from 3.3.2 to 3.3.3). But after trying debug with Proton log, nothing special. Then I found the game have a lots of people which can't launch game in Windows version. May the same issue with windows version.
Now, I can't start the game / play this game anymore.
At the beginning, gaming experience is perfect. But for now the game won't launch, I can't play anymore. There is major issue about this game (both in Linux or Windows version, try search "launch" in steam forum). Hope someone can looks into that.
Game worked great but I had inssues with my controller not working but after I did this little fix it worked perfect.

Plays perfectly. FPS cap isn't necessary as the Deck can handle 60 FPS easily, only if you really want to stretch battery life.
30 FPS cap
I tested both 1080p and 1440p. The top left quarter of the screen remains black: https://pasteboard.co/l1g1vlRrL4zu.png
Top left part of the screen is black.
On the screen, a quarter of the space on the upper left was occupied by a black square. Edited by fix: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v1.4.1
This can be fixed by turning on the overlay in steam and setting the game settings for the controller to default values.
Flawless
Runs absolutely perfect out of the box. Have not had any issues whatsoever.
Runs out the box
Works without any tinkering or tweaking. Right out of the box
No problems at all, performance is close to native.
The game can also read Playstation input, so if you have a Dualshock 3/4 it will change the icons, neat!
Works perfectly, no issues found

Quite a bit of mid game performance hiccups that make battles difficult or impossible.
On FPS drop mentioned earlier.
FPS would drop to a crawl for about 2-3 mins every now and then on overworld and in combat.
During cut scenes.

Great game that almost runs like native with 6.3.7 module. Any Linux user deserve to play this wonderful game, I really enjoy it.
Just some artifacts on windows house (present day, city) that looks like a bad clipping or something. Barely noticeable.
Runs seamlessly, I had no hiccups at all
Runs perfectly on 1080p at 60fps with proton experimental.
Run directly out of the box, no problems after 50+ hours
Yes if they don't mind experimenting a bit and doing some research before playing.
Black bar on top of screen
Little bit of micro stuttering

The game would attempt to launch, but right after, it would go back to play.
I turned on proton logs and got this: wine: could not open working directory L"Z:\home\ironwolf\Mounting\GamingLibrary\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witchb\0004" Remastered\", starting in the Windows directory.
Runs like native
So far, I've played mostly with Proton-6.1-GE-2, which runs like native. Performance is good too. At max settings @ 1080p it's locked to 60fps.
I had to enable V-Sync to avoid some screen tearing. I've tested with Proton 5.13-6 as well. This gave me sligth stutters in the beginning, which was probably just some shaders in the background being rendered. Smoothed out within a couple of minutes. And has good performance and a native-like feeling as well.

Works as native
Make sure to enable steam overlay and Steam Input to get your controller working
Slight issues when entering fights but quickly corrects itself
Game works fine and performance is awesome. My gamepad is recognized and fully working.
There is a little stutter in animation cutscenes when camera is moving. It's barely visible but it happens.
