Work ootb.
Needed proton-ge just for the video playback when you start a new game. Works with DS2LightningEngine mod and others.
gamescope -- %command%
Had to run it with gamescope because the company logos screen would freeze. Also I would recommend running rbdoom3bfg
Works OOTB.
I even run it with an ENB and mod from nexusmods. But if you choose to go this way know that it's not as stable.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
If you want to mod it, you might need to override a dll.
Works ootb.
As many has reported you can, and should mod it.
And though many recommend against it, you can even use ENB. If you do, use Proton 6.3-8, otherwise the keybindings won't work.
Works ootb.
Mind that fps above 60 will introduce bugs. This is not a linux/wine/proton issue.
Works ootb.
As previous reports mention, running through proton instead of native, gives better performance.
Had to disable vsync to fix this, not sure why.
Enabling FSR2 would make some textures dissapear
This test is for the DEMO
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Only using ray tracing.
Enabling ray tracing would tank performance when playing video cassettes (loading a new area). Also it would trigger some crashes. I got a stable playthrough with ray tracing limiting fps to 60 and enabling in-game FSR.
It works.
If you are on nvidia as of March 2025, directx12 games lose 20-50% performance.
It works. Bad performance. It's bad even in Windows.
This game has problems running on Windows even. Directx12 even without Ray Tracing performs worse than under Directx11, still talking under Windows. So under Linux it's the same or worse.
If you run it with directx11 api (-dx11) or have high end cpu/gpu it won't be a problem.
Works ootb. But found that like others reported, GE-Proton and dxvk_async gave a better frametime.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 mangohud %command%
Once the game starts you can alt-tab to a terminal and kill Origin app without any issues. You can also bypass Origin completly with this executable, running it directly with wine or Lutris.
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 %command% -nolauncher
It can run with ray tracing selecting Proton compatibility and adding the launch options above. The game runs with smooth frametimes. The benchmark feature in the display options is not representative of the actual gameplay.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Might need to add the launch options above to enable DLSS
I would wait for new Nvidia drivers, and proton/vkd3d-proton marking the game as playable.
DXVK_NVAPI_DRIVER_VERSION=53161 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Not sure what's going on but some audio can generate frametime spikes.
On patch 1.0.3 Windows performance on 1440p, DLSS quality, High quality graphics the game can do above 70 fps, with good frametime. On vkd3d-proton/nvidia drivers same graphics, you get 20 fps and will go lower. There's some memory issues. Also CPU usage is high on Linux, seems to be fix on Windows.
Issue probably from nvidia drivers. Disabling Steam Overlay can help on some of these.
Don't lower your graphics settings, just wait a couple of months.
Patch 1.0.4 from ND makes a lot of difference. CPU usage is still "high" but it doesn't causes stutter or sudden spikes.
DXVK_NVAPI_DRIVER_VERSION=53161 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Issues from nvidia driver noted in my previous report remains but with this last patch it can be played and enjoyed.
When you start the game you'll see at the bottom right corner a message that says "compiling shaders x%", you should wait for it to finish for optimal performance.
Works ootb. If you have Resizable BAR capable hardware make sure it's enable for optimize performance.
Playing Ultra settings on 1440p. The solution was, as mentioned by other users before, to enable Resizable BAR. Completly changed the performance, from 44fps deeps when many cars where in view screen to 135fps avg.
