For any of you struggling with this game to work, Alexosker and ϟϟ Illusion gave solutions for PC, i tried them in Steam Deck and now the game works wonders. Here are the steps i did: 1-You need a GOG verison of the game
2-Copy Obscure.Exe, Settings.Exe and the folder "_videopc"
3-Paste and Overwrite the Exe files in the game folder, create a new folder named "data" and paste the "_videopc" folder inside the new one.
4-Rename the file "cachpack.hvp" to "datacach.hvp"
5-Launch the game in desktop mode (the buttons stopped working so i had to use the screen), it will open a window and you need to click the file "Settings.exe", another window will open, select the resolution and proceed.
(Note: at this point i had to restart the deck because i couldnt close the game, but after that i run it from Gaming mode with a community layout for the controls)
Im not sure if you can do it all in the Deck, but i recommend doing the steps in a Pc, compress the files into a Zip file and upload it to Drive, then you can download it from the deck and do the steps.

Don't Bother with the Steam Version, Play the GOG version
I don't think Valve will ever fix this problem because Obscure uses a different file compared to GOG, for some reason... the Steam version uses directx9 but it's so janky that the launcher is not going to even work, it opens but it stays in the background, i tried everything and even changing files with cracked version, nothing worked. what a waste of money on this game that should work just fine but Valve changed the file. Play this on a Emulator or GOG, that's what i call "Valve moment". funny enough Obscure 2 works... bruh
Doesn't launch
Steam shows the game running but it never actually launches. I tried with both regular proton and proton GE.
Wanted to try ϟϟ Illusion's way but I do not have the game on GOG and their links no longer work.
Didn't work with any proton version.
Game does not open. The process is running and the CPU is providing the grunt for it, but nothing really happens.
Game does not work and it does not throw an error code. Replacing .EXEs is not really a true fix; however it is a possible workaround albeit legally questionable. GOG and Steam are slightly different versions of the game.
As ϟϟ Illusion said, you'll have to replace the Steam provided executable with the GOG executable and then rename "cachpack.hvp" to "datacach.hvp" in the installation directory. To have the cutscenes working, you need to unpack "kinepack.hvp" inside "data/_videopc/" or copy the contents from "data/_videopc/" of a GOG version installation. The only problem I had after that is cutscenes not having sound.
Cutscenes had no sound.
Have to replace the Obscure.exe with a the Obscure.exe provide by gog
First you need to download the Obscure.exe and Settings.exe

Extract Obscure.exe and Settings.exe inside the folder /steamapps/common/Obscure/ (replace the file Obscure.exe)
And then you need to rename cachpack.hvp to datacach.hvp
Launch the game it should display wine explorer, execute the "Settings.exe"
The movies(Cutscenes) won't play unless you extract the kinepack.hvp using the tool(unhvp.exe) and put it content inside the folder data/_videopc/

Steam just says running, had to manually kill the process.
