Used the Deck Plugin LetMeReshade, since I'm usinf FSR 2, I applied the "AMD FidelityFX™ Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS)" shader for more sharperness

mangohud %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False
Had to add the /WineDetectionEnabled:False switch as someone else mentioned (thank you) to get the Ray Tracing option unlocked but works fine and FPS locked to 75 @ 1440p no FSR.

I had issues with nvidia hardware in the past; However, running this game on an AMD GPU, the experience is much better. Other than some minor issues with VRR in certain areas, the game ran smooth and didn't crash a single time during my full playthrough of both the main campaign and separate ways. Modding also worked quite well, I was able to play the Beserker mod as well as some BioRand runs without any issues. REFramework was used to increase the FOV.

Comming back to this game a couple months later, I needed to point the path to some vulkan files in order for the game to work
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr,dx11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 %command%
small mouse issue if you alt+tab too much from the game.
without the enviroment commands on my AMD GPU, the game runs with terrible graphical glitches and at 20fps.

Had huge issues with freezing, missing textures. After changing from variable refresh rate to 120 in my case game worked flawlessly

gamemoderun %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False
/WineDetectionEnabled:False needed to enable ray tracing. I was able to get locked 60Hz at maxed out settings and 1440p (no upscaling).
gamemoderun %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False

Runs out of the box.
Separate Ways dlc also works great.
gamemoderun %command%

The game runs fine. FSR is set to performance by default, I'd recommend setting it to quality for better clarity and locking FPS to 40.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" %command%
Some of the puzzles are hard to read and require you to get further to the screen.
For whatever reason the game randomly crashes on me with GE Proton. But overall the experience and performance is pretty great, it dips to around 30 FPS during heavy fights but is still pretty playable.

MANGOHUD=1 game-performance gamescope -w 3440 -h 1440 -f --hdr-enabled -- %command%
You need Fullscreen for HDR to work
Runs perfectly out of box

I've locked the game to 40 FPS for smooth frame times. Occasionally the game dips below 40 in busy areas (mostly the village when it's stormy).
Key graphic settings for the Steam Deck OLED:
- FSR2: Quality
- Textures: 1GB, ANISO x4
- Mesh: Mid
- Shadows: Low, On, On
- Volumetric Lighting: Min
- Particle Lighting: High
- Subsurface Scattering: On
- Ambient Occlusion: FidelityFX CACAO

Simply Perfection!
Played through the main campaign and separate ways with zero performance issues. Using the default "High" settings at native 1440p resolution the game ran at >60FPS with no stuttering, slowdown, lag or any hiccups at all.

Perfect experience out of the box
There were certain sections where the FPS stutters a lot. But apart from that, the FPS is pretty good and stable.
Played it from start to finish. Perfectly playable.

This report is for the DLC Separate Ways. Not the base Resident Evil 4 game. The DLC is unplayable because it frequently crashes.
ACO_DEBUG=nosched %command%
Parts of the level would not load in. The level would have gemoetry and models missing
The DLC separate ways is unplayable, frequently crashes on Fedora 41.

Few Pops but nothing too serious ; could be my computer
The game was crashing after few minutes. I tried few things, but the solution for me was to simply set the framerate to 30 FPS directly in the game menu. After this change, the game run smoothly. Before setting to 30 FPS, I recommend to test the 60 FPS option ; maybe my computer simply can't handle the game at more than 30 FPS.

The only time it crashed for me was during cutscenes, i intially increased graphics to 4k but dropping that down seems to have fixed all the crashing

Excellent experience
Great overall

game is extremely unstable with my configuration. ive tried multiple versions of proton, and they dont seem to make much of a difference
%command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False
lighting messing up making some stuff bright red or bright blue etc, leons face sometimes turns completely black, cutscenes sometimes freeze the entire game and make me have to close it through steam or force shutdown my pc, game generally isnt stable for more than 10 minutes or less without something messing up
im surprised this game has a gold rating when it can be this bad

Ray tracing cannot be enabled

mangohud %command%
This game works fine OOTB without any ajustments.
In KDE Plasma 6.2 if you have two or more monitors connected, when you start the game the screen flickers constantly and then in the options menu you can't choose any option. The solution is simple, inside the plasma configuration menu, in the screen section, temporarily disable all screens except the one you want to play.

gamemoderun %command%
Works perfectly out of the box, no tinkering needed. However, I need to add gamemoderun as a launch parameter to prevent my system from turning off the screen in KDE Plasma. This happens because controller inputs don't seem to count as system activity.

mangohud %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False

If I hadn't found someone here on Proton with this launch option fix to force my GPU I wouldn't be able to play the game.
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json %command%
Not a seemless experience for me, probably the worse yet. The game wasn't able to go fullscreen and I wasn't able to change any settings. I'm still kinda new to Linux gaming so I was a bit out of options in the end how to solve it. Until l found the launch option to force my GPU what eventually fixed it. Still have problems "tabbing out" in i3, I have to mash to another workspace to switch.

glitches
stuttering, sound glitching, fps drops, not able to run 4k high 60fps (win 11 i get 4k high 120 flawless)
Maybe Proton was wrong but i experienced the same Problems w other RE:Engine Games

Locked 40 FPS TDP 12W
There are spots where you can't really read the text without gettings closer to the screen etc.
Given everything is on low and playing with FSR Quality it's expected that some graphics could get really bad. But if you don't care about some muddy textures here and there etc. it's fine.
The game is a little too hard for me but when you get the combat rhythm down it's really fun.

It worked out of the box. Great experience!
Having many saves locally caused there to be a large delay after the logo intro before the main menu is loaded
Alt-Tab would break Fullscreen. Borderless Windowed worked perfectly
200% resolution scale, all on ultra, 1440p. runs like a charm

No problems
I didn't have to make any changes. Worked out of the box.
