Problems with cutscene (Solved with Proton Ge 9-25)
Well, I did some research, and discovered the "source" of the problems that many people had with this game running on Linux (at least there were problems with the game loading and crashing right away)
To summarize the common problem of crashing after loading or new game, it is due to the ''sampling point of your HD/SSD) If you have the game installed on a partition other than the Home to avoid problems with this game you have 2 solutions
1- use this command in your game through the steam configuration PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command% In my case, my Dragons Dogma is installed at point Z: Solution 2 is simple and definitive and you don't need to use that command from solution 1 Open Winecfg in your terminal for the Correct Prefix: (Look where your game PFX path is, dragons dogma ID is 367500) in my case: WINEPREFIX=/run/media/victor/d166166c-189e-431e-96ea-3d0fe77ba9d5/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/367500/pfx/ winecfg
My game is on drive Z:
Click on the DRIVES tab, select the drive where your game is installed and click remove
Then click on the 'add' button and add your drive again, in my case Z:
Copy the game path: /run/media/victor/d166166c-189e-431e-96ea-3d0fe77ba9d5/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/DDDA/
Paste it in the prefix, save and close, that's it, your Dragons Dogma is permanently solved

Runs out of the box.
Title :)
Boots up with no problem, faster startup time than on Windows
Just worked.

Game crashed after starting new game in both "native" or "flatpak" version. But after some research I found that this game needs to be stored in a shorter location path. eg. /"storage device"/steamapps/common/DD

Handheld mode 8tdp 40fps
Played on handheld mode 30 % 40 fps on fhd beamer 70% 60fps, it was unbelievable good!

Game crashes in flatpak version of steam when opening map. I have a "native" install of steam just for this game. graphics stuttered significantly if fame rate is set to anything but variable. Once set to variable it runs smoothly at max settings without issue.
when setting the frame rate to 60 fps it became quite choppy, once set to variable it ran very smooth without any noticable frame rate dips

Switch to GE 8-27, which fixes the start screen bug. Yknow, the one that causes it to turn in to a "Technical Difficulties" background? I know a lot of y'all were complaining about it, so now I'm sharing the fix for it ^w^
gamemoderun %command%

Works great, don't use steam flatpak
Menu screen video is missing
Crashes on some loading screens when using the Flatpak version, but the native binary works perfectly

gamemoderun %command%
Haven't had any issues playing this game so far.

Plays perfectly fine out of the box.
The only issue is that I have encountered is that the intro video doesn't play most of the time.

Played nearly 50 Hours without any problems (except with the game itself).

On the title screen (when u startup the game) the background video doesn't play correctly sometimes. In some instances, it appears, sometimes - not Tried different versions of Proton and still.
The game is stable and the performance is comparable to Win11. Similarly to microsoft's OS, Dragon's Dogma on linux suffers from a torn framepacing if u didn't activate VSYNC or FPS LIMIT, then it's silky smooth. Definitely a good experience overall

If using Flatpak Steam DDDA will crash if you open the map or entering Gran Soren

Works fine out of the box
The title screen background shows a Proton test movie. No issues in the actual game.

I played for about 20 hours with Proton with no issues. All of a sudden it stopped launching. It would process the Vulkan shaders, and then immediately crash. I had to reinstall and revert to Proton 8.0-5 to get it to work again.
I have no idea why it suddenly started crashing on startup. Ubuntu downloaded some updates recently, which may have something to do with it. But it's working again after switching to 8.0-5.

Without changing anything you get a TV test pattern on the menu but the game plays fine.

Läuft Out of the Box perfekt, selbst docked in 1080p noch mit 60fps in 1440p sind es noch so 40-50 in 4k nur noch rund 20
Titelbildschirm sieht aus wie ein Testbild

Plays good out of the box even without using Proton GE. I started playing this without any tinkering and other than the weird start menu background video becoming this static tv screen, the game plays just fine. Use Proton GE if that start menu bothers you too much

Missing introductory video
Have not done further tinkering to get the Title Menu video working, no issues seen in game up to Gran Soren

Can't play it, had to refund.
I've traied the many options, including different versions of Proton starting from 7-55 until 9-1 with GE, also experimental but game crashes every time I start a new game. Also tried multiple command arguments reported by others in the community but to no avail.

Not starting on endeavouros
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
tried everything from Proton 8.0 -5 to Custom GE, closes directly after starting.
Have to use GE otherwise black screen after title screen, also disable vsync from quick access menu

Versions newer than 8.0-5 Proton: hair color selection freeze, cinematic after first tutorial fight infinite loading screen - issue not fully isolated, possibly intermittent
I have an old system, the game plays wonderfully on highest settings - but with latest Proton/Steam updates I ran into the hair color selection freeze and first cinematic infinite load screen - rolling back to 8.0-5 Proton fixed that for me.

DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Running this OOB, I got stuck after beating the tutorial it would hang on a loading screen permamently & wouldn't save that i had finished the prologue so had to play it a few times testing out tweaks.

Opening the map causes the game to crash. Tried Proton Experimental, Proton8-0-5 and GE-Proton9-1 with same results.
Will look for a solution to the map issue, will report back if I manage to fix it.

Mouse input seems to be hard set to maximum sensitivity
Game would encounter infinite loading screen after finishing tutorial area. Issue was fixed by setting to 8.0-5.

without GE the post-tutorial loadingscreen is broken and dosn't finish.
after switching to GE no issue in 4h of gameplay and good performance.
its probably a good idea to skip the ~5h shader compiliation (it gets slower and slower) and accept the worse performance since performance is not a problem.

Proton 8.0-5

Tried default and experimental, tried no options and options for dxvk & v9vk recommended in other reports
Audion very laud before it load save
Stops at loading screen after tutorial

High settings run at a fairly stable 60FPS. Medium settings, 45FPS, 1280x800 works well with 10W TDP.
L4 to run. R4 to aim.
45FPS Medium. 10W TDP.

Limit yo 40FPS

Crash on starting new game, was resolved by moving the installation to a different (much shorter) path.
