Worked before, but mouse control now broken
Mouse movement and clicks doen't work anymore allways.
Works well except for fullscreen which needs some twiddling
Had to alt-tab a few times to get fullscreen to work
Playable at a high framerate from the beginning to the end. No significant or gamebreaking bugs.
some weird windowing in dx12 when launched
when loading into a stage it may seem like it has freezed, just wait a couple seconds.
Game started but caused computer to freeze up about a third of the way through the first level.
Such a pity I couldnt get it to run past the first level. It was pretty good up till the computer freeze.

By default the mouse could not move far enough to the right, so I could not change settings or anything. Using Proton-GE fixed it. The mouse cursor also changed after using Proton-GE.
Performance with Raytracing is pretty rough in 4k, only playable on Low with FSR Quality.
Works perfectly without any tweaking. Even the ray tracing works well enough that I've played that way some without issue.
Runs nicely, and it is a nice game to play on Deck, and suppose it will be pretty fun to play it with keyboard and mouse. No issues playing
Ray Tracing cannot be enabled, neither with standard Proton or ProtonGE
The game starts in an odd resolution. Change it to windowed then back to fullscreen and you'll be good.
stutters a little in the first few areas but it goes away after a bit.

when selecting some specific skills in the skill tree, instant crash
I finished the game without learning a few skills because I couldn't select them, but that was ok for me
Works best with DirectX 12 option
Game crashed once or twice, but could be an issue in Windows too
When launching the game, there is a "Play Bright Memory: Infinite" option which runs in DirectX 11, but I noticed some visual artifacts with the graphics. If you go with the DirectX 12 option (it says ray tracing), it runs very well. I beat the game and it only crashed once or twice and the framerate was always at 144 with FSR 2 Quality.

The game slowed down to 5 FPS after dying on a few bosses. Restarting the game fixed.
Game ran fine most of the time but it had a few moments where performance would tank to literally 5 FPS and was only fixed by restarting the game. After finishing the story the game is supposed to loop back to the start but now it just crashed while playing the intro.
Deleting the save file should fix it but whatever.

Played from start to finish with no issues. Max Settings as well.
You need to set "Play Bright Memory Infinite" in the launch options, otherwise launching the game using a steam shortcut will cause it to crash every time before the main menu even appears,.
Flawless with standard Proton (7.0-5)

FPS are down to 3-5 point after death or cutscenes if you have RTX on with dx12 mode run
Don't work with a native Proton: after running and first logo the game is frozen. RTX works such as DLSS with a GE-Proton
Really good looking, really unique wee shooter that runs quite well, no real issues.
On title screen, it doesn't display the controller input to go to menu, it instead gives a keyboard prompt. Pressing 'Start' on controller still allows you into the main menu. No other issues with button display.
Minor stuttering at points but infrequent and not really during the fights, I think it happened while trying to load the next large environment, but it wasn't a common issue.
One minor freeze that required exiting the game by Steam menu. Not hard crash requiring reseting Deck, thankfully.

It works with Proton GE. I had attempted to play the game previously, but I couldn't get past the first menu. Now it works without issues.
The tutorial cinematics only worked well after I installed Proton GE. With Proton 7.0 or 6.3 the game doesn't even launch and with 5.0 it's playable but you can't see those cinematics.

Game stutters a bit. Haven't played native but It would almost certainly run better native. It has also crashed a couple of times.
Works
With proton 6 it worked somewhat but crashed constantly, now with proton 7 it works.
Proton-GE using the default D3D11 launch mode works best, since videos play and the game itself runs fine. D3D12 doesn't work with listed GE version; Proton Experimental has missing video codec (i.e. TV bars for videos) and D3D12 mode runs in literal single-digit framerates for imperceivable differences.
Even though Steam Deck Verified by Valve, I couldn't pass through the game's initial menu
Once I hit "Start" button, the game shows "loading" then into a white blank screen. The game stucks there indefinitely.
Dadurch das teilweise manchmal nur ein großer Missing Texture Screen da ist, ist es schon nervig
A lot of Missing Texture Screens
The game is completely playable on Linux (i just finished it), but you will need to do some tweaking
Game crashed 2 times during gameplay
The game will freeze on menu if you stay too long on it
Here is a small tutorial to fix the issues i had:
1 - Open Lutris
2 - Go to Preferences -> Runners
3 - Install 'Wine Steam' (close to the bottom of the list)
4 - Look at the left sidebar and search for 'Runners' -> 'Wine Steam'
5 - Click on the cog icon next to the name
6 - In 'Runner options' choose 'Wine version' -> 'lutris-fshack-6.21-6-x86_64'
7 - Run Wine Steam and install the game
8 - Once the game is finished, right click on it and you MUST NOT choose dx12 ray tracing option, this will NOT WORK properly and the performance will be horrible, you must choose 'Play Game' option(probably the first one)
9 - Do not stay on the menu for too long or the game will crash
10 - All the rest is completely playable as i finished the game myself Enjoy :)
Fades to white after "Press Enter" screen
Using Proton-7.1-GE-2
Game does run if you install it over Lutris, crashes with Steam Launcher.
Here's a relatively simple solution to get it to run:
- Open Lutris, click Manage runners (via the 3 dot menu, upper right).
- Scroll down to Wine Steam, install that.
- Click Add Game. In the Game info, type in the name & pick Wine Steam as your runner.
- In Game options, add the Application ID 1178830 (Game IDs can be found on their respective Steam Store pages).
- Click Save, then click Run.
- Lutris will now go through the installation process via the Wine Steam runner we chose. Wait for it to fully download, then click Stop (The game does not start automatically after download).
- Click Run again - and the game should start.
Of course you want to install DLC, if you have any:
- Purchase the DLC or enter the code you got.
- Now we notice Bright Memory infinite does not show in your installed list of Steam games, because we installed it over Lutris.
- Close all instances of Steam. Start Lutris, run the game. The Steam Wine runner we installed will launch a new session of steam, which then will recognize Bright Memory Infinite is installed and then add our DLC.
- If the Steam Overlay says "Finished downloading content", but it does not show up ingame, just restart the game and it will be there.
- Additional notes:
- The main menu background animation & the first cutscene might be stuttering / slow. This does not impact the performance of the game when you play. I played through the game twice and everything runs fine, except these two things. Nothing that would greatly bother though.
In-game videos don't load. These are only used for tutorials so far, so not a problem
Need to use proton 5.13-6 otherwise you hit the whitescreen issue before the main menu.
There pretty comfortable to play on my RX5500M, with ultra settings, proton 5.13.6 and need run on DX11. I not sure about Nvidia...
Just doesn't show video on TV, preview for skills. Anyway it very comfortable to play a game.
latest proton experimental as of 1/8/2022. it just fades to white at the start and will not proceed further.
I did also try proton GE with no difference. tried the normal start up (i assume this is dx11) as well as the dx12 option the game gives you. neither work
tried various official, GE and TKG versions, either doesn't start at all, or hangs with white screen after "press enter to start"
Game seems to work fine, it just has some jitter when new textures appear and also no video
Game jitters for half a second when new textures appear.
No videos
Doesn't work on proton experimental and 6 (white screen freeze), 5.13 the game didn't load. On 5.10 it loaded and I was able to reach actual gameplay but no video (start of game logo and small tutorial videos).
Game hangs on a white screen
Game gets to the title screen, and when hitting enter the screen goes white and the game hangs. With older Proton version 5.13-6 it was possible to play the game, but all the videos are missing.
Works well
Game tested in an Ubuntu LXD container running under Funtoo(Gentoo) linux 1.4 with the latest packages from Ubuntu on the container side and Funtoo on the host side. Works really well with almost no problems under Proton 5.13, on newer proton versions such as 6 it would start but will crash on a white screen when loading in the main menu after you press "Enter"
Use Proton-TKG. All cutscenes work, I have zero "whitescreen" issues. Proton GE and Experimental gave me the whitescreens, TKG does not.
Ray Tracing doesn't work. VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr doesn't allow enabling ray tracing at all, VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 causes a crash on launch. But DLSS works perfectly.
I use PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
with either Proton-tkg 6.23 or 7.0rc1. Both worked perfectly (other than no ray tracing). DLSS works. All cutscenes work. Performance is pretty incredible. Not a single stutter.
game launches fine into the titlescreen, but hangs on a white screen afterwards
Works using Proton 5.13-6. Good performance and awesome gameplay. Videos not playing ruin the immersion in some scenes.
Many in-game videos and video-textures showed just a white screen and the according audio. This ruins some epic moments.
Heavy stuttering during first attacks and in some scenes due to shader-compilation.
If the videos would play, it could be recommended to the average gamer. Modern versions of Proton did not work for me.
