Error "config.txt" doesn't let me play
As soon as I click PLAY this error appears:
Error: 3889861889 : 337 Can't open configuration file : 'config.txt'
Already tried some fixes after some research but nothing. Same error. Always.
Almost 6 hours in and no problems.
This game requires 32-bit support to launch if you are playing on Linux
Make sure you have the appropriate 32-bit drivers installed for your graphics card or else you will encounter fail to launch program error.

If you want to mod it, you might need to override a dll.
problems with the launcher only, very slow and has to use certain versions of proton
i had to force update nvidia drivers to 545 to get it working
Perfect.
The game runs smooth on the deck out of the box. Only downside is the fact that you can´t use the sleep mode.
When putting the steam deck to sleep mode, I was not able to enter any menue. So I can´t save the progress. After this I need to restart the game.
With or without mods this game will slowdown for some fights

100%ed the game no problem. To make sure that FF8_demastered & along with all of the mods work you need to run the game with the following launch command:export WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b"; %command%
Runs great ootb with Proton 5.13-4.
RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command% recommended, but not mandatory. Tested on Intel HD 530 / 630 and AMD RX 560 OC.

Zero issues with an NVIDIA card.
If using Intel graphics, you may receive an error regarding OpenGL 3.3. If so, add "MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=iris %command%" to the game's launch option and it will run flawlessly.

Plays perfectly with Pop OS on Oryx Pro & GTX 2070. However, I received an OpenGL error when trying to launch the game on Intel integrated graphics.

Playing at 1440p full screen and the game runs absolutely flawlessly with no tweaking required from what I have played so far. It is locked to a 4:3 ratio and 30fps in the world and 15fps in battle like the original version with few options to tweak.
Used plain Proton 4.11 using the Steam Play feature on the Steam Client to launch both the launcher and the game exe but it still crashes upon launching them
Start the game, be happy. Just works.
I launched using lutris from the launcher exe , used Proton 4.11, enabled DVXK and it works after the first crash of the launcher
