6.3-5 was the latest version at the time when I played the game. It most likely still works without any issues on the newest version, I just haven't tested it.

You can tab out but the game will always be on top of everything on the monitor it is open on.
Achievements don't work with the native version. Runs without issues with Proton.
There are graphical glitches around the bottom and right edge of the screen (on the inventory area) but the game is still completely playable.
Starts to a black screen. When tabbing out and back in the screen changes to colour white but that is it. Sounds seems to work.
The game is really buggy, but none of it is caused by Proton.
Dragging around the screen does not work, but the same issue happens on Windows as well so it is not actually Proton related.
Felt like it was running at a sub 60 fps even if the game was claiming it was running at 60
Game would crash at startup with the newest ( 5.0-7) version of Proton
Tabbing out in fullscreen mode would make the game crash sometimes.
The game would not even start for me on Windows 7 so playing it with Proton is definitely an improvement.
Linux version is just an empty folder. With Proton it works without any issues.
Just of some background elements, nothing that actually affected the game.
Game crashes at the exact same point in the game every time preventing progress.
Something it would stutter a little when loading a scene
Crashed once when loading a scene, not sure if Proton or just game itself related
Native version was acting funny with resolution so I switched to Proton. It worked without any issues.
Native version doesn't unlock achievements. It works without any issues with Proton however.
Has some issues when tabbing in and out (tabs instantly back in by itself or just turn into an unresponsive black screen) but otherwise works fine.
Some video when starting the game doesn't load, but it is nothing needed or gamebreaking. Everything else (including quitting) works perfectly fine.
Works perfectly fine without any issues out of the box
Game crashed twice right at the end but that is also an issue people have on Windows.
Opening the settings menu crashes the game, but thats a problem with the game itself, nothing to do with Proton.
Same as everyone else, worked flawlessly before update 20, now it crashes at startup.
Level 15 doesn't actually load anything, but thats the game, nothing to do with Proton.
Game always starts in windowed mode even if set to fullscreen. Going into the settings (not changing anything) and back out makes it switch back to fullscreen and front them on there are no issues.
Throws an error and if you click on continue you get stuck on an infinite loading screen.
Crashes when trying to play it
Managed to get to the first cutscene and after that the game just crashes instantly.
After level 15 or so it keep crying about something being corrupted every level start, finish and sometimes during a level (something might have just gone wrong with my install), but you could simply dismiss the error window and the game was completely playable.
It crashed once in about an hour and 15 minutes, but other than that it ran completely fine.
Game still claims to have native support when it doesn't. Works without issues with Proton at least.
Native version would just crash at startup for me, worked with no issues with Proton.
Going into the settings menu crashes the game, some textures randomly don't load, on some points it lags a decent bit and tabbing out of the game sometimes breaks the game and you have to force quit it.
I had the audio start constantly looping twice, a restart of the game fixed it.
Tabbing out in fullscreen made the game disappear off screen and therefore I had to kill the game and then restart it, windowed mode worked perfectly fine.
The game crashed once right at the very begning after the first cutscene, but after that there haven't been any issues.
With Proton version 3.7-8 the numbers in the circles wouldn't show up, with version 4.2-1 the game works flawlessly.
Linux native version of the game would crash on startup, playable with Proton with some issues.
Game worked fine as long as you didn't try to tab out as that would cause pretty bad artifacting.
The artifacting is really minor and not problematic. No idea if it is actually a Proton issue or it happens on Windows too.
The start config menu works, but it crashes when you try to load into a game.
Seems to run fine except for it wont shut down in any way other than actually killing the progress. The game itself is really buggy but I am 99,99% sure that has absolutely nothing to do with Proton.
Would crash occasionally (mostly when switching buildings), it autosaves in the middle of the level so not much is lost when starting the game back up.
Very minor artifacting, still completely playable.
It gets a bit laggy at the later levels where there is a lot more going on but it is still playable.
Instantly crashed on first startup, after that it worked flawlessly.
It feels like it is running at 5 FPS but I can't tell whose fault it is (the awful game or Proton). The HUD randomly disappeared and the UI gets cut off in some places.
Game would start lagging after 30 minutes or so, restart fixed it.
Likes to crash on tab-out in fullscreen mode (windowed more works completely fine), but other than that there are no issues.
While the store page doesn't advertise it to have Linux support there is a native build uploaded but it straight up doesn't work. If you force it to run with Proton the game works without any issues at all.
Taskbar still visible in fullscreen. Needs to be restarted every 20-30 minutes due to the game starting to lag a lot. Other than that there don't seem to be any issues.
Game doesn't start
The non Deluxe version of the game that comes with it works, but is due to what looks like to be an ingame bug unplayable.
Game would randomly drop down to 20-40FPS depending on map.
Except for not minimizing properly when tabbing out in fullscreen mode it seems to work fine.
5 main ones work fine, 2 bonus ones are unplayably laggy.
The main 5 games in the bundle work perfectly fine. The 2 bonus games are so laggy (running at maybe 0,2fps) that they are completely unplayable.
The 2 that are unplayable are the bonus games: Behind the Reflection 2: Witch's Revenge and Vampire Saga: Pandora's Box
Edited the HitmanContracts.ini file to add the next 2 lines: UseDirectInputMouse UseDirectInputKeyboard
Mouse clicks wouldn't registered till a config file was changed.
Randomly crashes with null object error.
While the crashing is annoying the game at least has autosaves so you don't lose too much progress.
Worked as long as I didn't tab out. If I tabbed out the mouse would start spinning uncontrollably making the game unplayable.
Would randomly lag every 15-30 second for a second or 2
Crashes with "Failed to find Steam" even if Steam is running.
Gets a bit laggy after a while but I am not sure if that is a Proton issue or not. Other than that I had no issues.
Native version doesn't start because of missing files, but when forcing it to run with Proton it works without any issues.
Has minor issues you can very easily work around.
Game would keep forgetting my audio settings every time I started it up.
Has issues with alt tabbing in fullscreen (it would usually either hang or I couldn't click on half of the screen after tabbing in). In windowed mode the game works perfectly fine.
As other people mentioned you have disable voice chat because when someone talks the game crashes. Other than that I have not experienced any crashes. It runs at 5-15 FPS less than it does on Windows with the same settings, it does however feel laggier and not as smooth for some reason (at +120fps). Alt tabbing out of the game when it fullscreen won't move the game in the background (I could still use my other monitors that didn't have the game open fine). The mouse does not show in the Steam overlay.
It now works flawlessly with just as good performance as Windows as long as you disable Esync.
If I played the game more than an hour straight there was a pretty much 100% chance of a crash. And it would sometimes even crash before then.
Tabbing in and out while in fullscreen makes the game go black and unresponsive. Windowed mode works flawlessly.
The game runs in a small window top left of the screen.
Other than the display issue the games runs without any other issues out of the box.

The game runs in a small window top left of the screen.
Other than the display issue the game runs without any other issues out of the box.
The game itself seems to be highly unoptimized, I am not actually sure it is a Proton issue.
You can't see the cursor in the native Linux version of the game making it basically impossible to play, however running it in Proton works perfectly fine.
Game starts up but no video, only sound
Native version doesn't support achivements so I wanted to play with Proton. Game starts up and you can hear the sounds, but all it does it just put a transparent overlay over your screen and you can't interact with it.
Native doesn't work, but it works file with Proton
"Native" version is just the game running with Wine which doesn't actually work past loading the main menu. With Proton it runs without any issues at all.
75% of the time crashes when tabbing out in fullscreen mode (windowed mode is fine), other than that no issues.
Had to turn down the graphic settings because otherwise it was a bit laggy and it shouldn't have been with my hardware. Ran perfectly once I did.
Game insists on starting on your leftmost monitor no matter what and while you can move it to another one it will keep the original resolution it was started on so if your leftmost monitor is an odd resolution (like portrait one) good luck.
I didn't switch to an older version when I was playing, that was just the current version at the time of me playing it. I forgot to make a report back then and I haven't tested the game with a newer version since (it is likely fine however).
It wouldn't run with Proton 5.0-2, but with 4.11-12 it worked without issues.
Tiles constantly disappear, there is random artifacting everywhere. Unplayable.
Native version downloads an empty folder, Proton version doesn't work.
Both normal and beta version (where the achievements work) work fine.
Game never actually starts up. No error shows up.
Works perfectly out of the box
All TVs were displaying things properly and one of them is actually supposed to be test screen and it is not a bug...
Ran perfectly fine for me out of the box, didn't have to do anything.
There doesn't seem to be a Linux build at all for this game, not sure why the store page claims otherwise. Works without any issues with Proton tho.
Doesn't load into the menu
First time around game got stuck loading at 99% and nothing happened. After I tried to launch the game the second time around all I got was a black screen.
Back screen on startup, even with Esync disabled
Not sure if this is actually a Proton problem or just the game being awful.
Game would freeze randomly for a second often enough to be annoying but not bad enough to be unplayable
No tinkering was involved. 6.3-8 was just the version that was the newest at the time when I played and it worked fine, I just forgot to make a report back then. It most likely works fine with newer versions as well, I just haven't tested it.
Played in OpenGL mode and there were some noticeable graphical glitches but the game is still completely playable and it ran at ~75FPS with the highest settings. No matter if OpenGL or not and if fullscreen or not the game would freak out if alt tabbed to the point the only thing I could do was close it with alt + f4 (I thought it was related to my weird multi-monitor setup at first but after a quick test it doesn't seem to be the case). Does not crash on exit for me.
The native Linux version crashes at startup, with Proton the game works without any issues.
Native version didn't work for me, running it via Proton worked without any issues
First time I started the game there was no audio at all. 2nd and 3rd time I started the game was fine.
Game would always be on top of everything even when tabbing out and trying to open something in the background on the same monitor.
FPS was pretty bad at some points
Except for the tabbing out issue the rest might very well just be issues with the game itself and nothing to do with Proton, but I have not tested the game on Windows so I don't know who is at fault.
Works flawlessly. I did also play it on a lower end system (i5-3210M, integrated graphic, 4GB RAM) and it would lag pretty badly but other than that no problems.
Starts in an odd resolution in windowed mode with black bars but its 100% playable
Felt really laggy at moments, but I can't tell if it is just the game itself or Proton
Crashed out of nowhere a couple of times and had some very minor visual glitching sometimes, but otherwise ran without any issues.
Game wasn't happy with alt tabbing on fullscreen mode and would lock up. In windowed mode it worked flawlessly.
It felt really laggy at points, but I can't quite say if it is just the game itself of Proton that is the cause. It however doesn't really affect the game too much since it is a HOG game.
Crashes on tabbing in/out and if you try to put it in windowed mode. Basically unplayable.
Nothing happens after you click "Play Game", just gets stuck without throwing any errors.
Changed the config file to what the developer suggest to get past the control selection: https://steamcommunity.com/app/301540/discussions/0/490125737473530539/
crashed on me 2x when I was playing it for a longer period of time
This wasn't tinkered with, it was just played when 7.0-2 was the newest version and I haven't tested it on any newer versions.
Doesn't start
"This aplication requires a Java Runtime Enviroment 1.6.0"
The game wont minimize when tabbing out. Can use other screens with mouse but can not type anything.
Switching from fullscreen to windowed made the game crash, but I could start the game back up and it started in windowed mode.
Game wouldn't go into background when tabbing out in fullscreen mode (windowed worked fine).
First try starting it just opened a black frozen screen, second time it worked fine. Occasionally randomly throws script errors (not related to exiting and entering the game) but simply restarting the game fixes it (happened to me 3 times in 3 hours of playtime).
Seems to be working now with some minor issues.
1st time starting the game it froze, 2nd time worked fine. Once threw an error at me when trying to load back into the game from the main menu.
Playable, but not ideal.
For videos to play I had to pause and unpause the game and had to repeat that at the begning of each clip. Skip viewed scenes didn't work for me at all.
In larger cities it tends to lag a bit but other than that it seems to run completely fine.
Everyone once in a while there was some lag/slowness but it wasn't too bad and still perfectly playable.
Game has native Linux support, but it is an old version where the achievements don't work. Running it with Proton to get the latest Windows version works without issues.
There is issues with the game itself, but none are related to Proton as the issues exist on Windows as well.
Cutscenes don't work, just a black screen till you skip them.
The crashes don't seem to be Proton related. Plenty of people on Windows are complaining about it in the reviews.
The performance it is not the greatest, but it is still playable.
Game runs at ~50FPS with random dips down to 20FPS when driving around.
I don't think it is actually a Proton issue. People are complaining about crashes on Windows as well.
Except the fact that you can not hide the game in the background in windowed mode the game runs perfectly fine.
Game throws an error when you press the play button in-game.
Game started on my leftmost portrait monitor and it took a bunch of switching back and forwards between fullscreen and windowed, switching resolutions and restarting the game to actually get it to run at the proper resolution on my main landscape monitor. From the Steam discussions this however seems to be partially a problem on Windows as well, just not to the extent I had it.
Once I got it running at the right resolution on the right monitor there were not futher issues.
Normal (non-redux) version - has some annoying graphical glitches and it crashed twice when tabbing out, but it is completely playable otherwise.
Other than the FPS issues at some points it ran fine
The game would drop down to 15FPS in some parts of the map.
Every once in a while when tabbing out and back in the game either crashed or the mouse movement broke. Other than that the game ran without any issues.
With the newest version (5.0-8) of Proton the game would simply not start. With an older one I managed to play the 1st episode without any issues whats so ever, but as soon as I loaded the 2nd episode the game just froze. Played the beginning of 2nd episode on Windows, switched back to Proton and it was fine for a few minutes before freezing completely again. I did not bother trying out the 3rd episode.
If the 2nd episode would work just as well as the 1st one I would say it would be a great experience, but like this sadly I can't.
The crashing and blackscreens are actually issues on Windows too. Setting the game in windowed mode with alt+enter fixes the blackscreen issue and the game then runs fine.
Native version didn't work for me, but it worked without issues with Proton.
Works as long as you leave the settings be.
Game would freak out if put into fullscreen and not display things properly
Crashed after cutscene sometimes
I couldn't switch the resolution, without everything breaking and the game being unplayable. Was stuck at 640x480 resolution.
It worked out of the box without any problems at all for me, including the Twitch integration.
Game opens to a black screen. No audio can be heard.
Doesn't work. Opens to a white screen and nothing happens afterwards. No fixes tried.
Black screen on startup, can hear the sound however.
First half of the game worked without any issues, then I hit a game breaking bug that wouldn't let me continue further but that is a problem with the game itself not Steam Play (same bug also happens on Windows).
Crashed once in 12 hours but that crash froze my whole PC up.
The controls are all kinds of messed up, but I can't say if they are any better on Windows. Ran at 58FPS.
Native verson is a lie (nothing downloads when you click install), but the game works without any problems with Proton.
Game starts up to a black screen. You can hear the music, just not see anything.
Works fine except not being able to access the settings.
What seems to be a settings menu doesn't want to open.
The initial setting menu works, but once you want to actually start the game it just crashes.
The game is a buggy mess, but it is the same thing on Windows. Only minor issue is that it wont minimize when tabbing out of it.
