Does not use dgpu on laptop
Multiplayer doesn't work - potentially related to network config if you can't port forward
Could not connect to any invited game
Single player is fine
The native version is out of date but works. Forcing to default proton for the windows version has no issues

Force Proton. The linux native version isn't up-to-date.

You get an initial window to select which version you wish to run, then a black screen and a crash.
Does not run on a Chromebook

Last update after some problems with my linux installation
Linux support for HumanFallFlat has been discontinued since 2018 (source). You can run the game without Proton, but it will be an old/outdated version. In order to have an up-to-date version, you need to force Proton Experimental for this game.

Some tutorials containing a video showing the player how to play may cause the game to crash.
Once the proton version has been changed, the game is as fluid as on Windows or even better! Otherwise, the game doesn't launch at all.

Game crash at launch
When trying to launch the game I'm having the following issue:
dxgi.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module dxgi.dll at 0023:7853a936.
I haven't found a workaround, so the game is unplayable for me on Linux via Proton.

Works perfectly out of the box.
Worked once, crashed every 5-10 minutes. After a reboot it doesn't open again, verifying game files and proton files doesn't fix it.

Works almost flawlessly out of the box.
One crash during a whole walkthrough.
On-line multiplayer with a friend, we both used gamepads (Steam Controller and Xbox's one), finished the game. One random crash on my side mid-way through (I was the host). No other issues.

While Proton 9.0-3 does work, the game was unable to connect to a multiplayer session with a bogus mismatched version error (reported version strings were the same). Switching to Proton Experimental did the trick.
Switching the resolution caused a black screen until the game was rebooted

runs at 3fps max.
Running with no compatibilty with the default settings has the game launch but it runs at 3fps max. changing proton to version did nothing. changing launch options did nothing

Funcionando tranquilo, nenhum problema
É baixar, instalar e jogar. Nenhum trabalho adicional. Experiência tranquila.

Runs smoothly with Proton GE (9.2) for Singleplayer, needs Steam's Proton for Multiplayer.
I have a sharp 20 FPS drop when switching to Steam's Proton 9 (Beta)
While ProtonGE 9.2 is quite smooth, it can't play multiplayer. I can't see the lobbies and can't join my friend's. It'll say "Incompatible version". I had to switch to Steam's Proton 9 (Beta). Unfortunately, it has worse performance than GE

can't play with friend, the version of the game is not the same as him, have to play it in virtual box (hopefully it is a low spec game)
Smooth as well, it was surprising because I didn't except any results from this game but it runs very well

Игра не запускается. Просто виснет в диспетчере задач.
Не работает.

it works just like it does on windows

Out of the box only the main menu. If you want to play, you need to downgrade the proton version to 5.13-6 and use run parameter from above

Enabled Virtual Desktop through protontricks' winecfg
Native version was abandoned by devs and multiplayer did not work, so you need to force the game to use Proton, I only tested Experimental version and GE - both work fine
On native version multiplayer won't work
I'ts an amazing game, very fun to play online with friends. Needs to activate proton forcibly but not any hard tweak need to be done to play
You need to force the use of proton by right click in the game > Properties > Compatibility > Check the box saying "force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool". I used proton experimental and it worked out of the box after updating the game to use the most recent windows version. (If you don't check the box you'll be using an older linux compatible version by default that doesn't let you play online).
Without tinkering you can open the menu, custom your character and play some old phases, but you wont have all the game. So you'll need to forcibly activate proton and install the newer windows version if you want to play the game completely or play it online.
It's a fun Physics-Based 3D-Platformer that is, at points, quite frustrating due to the weird physics. Especially fun with friends.
Works well, runs smoother.
The game works out of the box, I haven't tested controllers / multiplayer yet, but so far, single player works for me.
Pressing a single key on the keyboard once, outputs twice (press "a", game shows "aa")
Game works perfectly with the latest Proton GE or less perfectly with older proton version (I tested Proton5-13 and Proton6-3)
Works fine out of the box but to have multiplayer you have to go in the game propoerties and selection Proton6-3 in the compatiblity section. In my experience though ProtonGE was better since, with Proton6-3, I couldn't leave the game's windows and come back to it (if I did it I just had a black screen. But I have a bad PC so...

Game crashes occasionally (most often after a new level load). However, due to the frequency of checkpoints, this rarely causes any considerable loss of progress. It felt more like a "oh well, got to sit through the developer logos on startup again" than a real annoying issue to me.
There were a few cases where the game decided to give both controller inputs to the same player at the start, but pausing the game and making player 2 leave and rejoin (by holding START) fixed this.
Crashed once when loading a new level.
Had to enable Proton Experimental, else it would crash as soon as I pressed the first 'door open' button.
The game crashed a bit too frequently though it's possible that my default battery settings were the issue.
I have by default battery wattage set to 11W.
Every 2 levels or 30 mins the game tended to crash.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Played multiplayer with Proton Experimental along with a Windows user without downgrading Proton versions.
The default native version is outdated significantly so forcing it to launch with Proton is necessary to get features like workshop levels support.
If you switch to Proton 5.13-6, the game runs without any issues.

Got 1 random crash when loading the lobby, but managed to reconnect to the game
The game has a native version that in theory is up to date with windows version, but could't connect to my friends lobbys this way, had to force the use of proton and then managed to connect to the lobby
Overall works fine
If you don't mind restarting it every half hour or so it is a fun game.
The game will frequently crash for no reason; most often after reaching a random checkpoint. It's never consistent. If playing online and hosting, progress is lost unless it crashed at the checkpoint that you reach when you fully complete a level. It's not reproducable in any consistent way. Just play the game and it'll crash at some random checkpoint. I played for maybe two hours last night and it crashed at least six times.
When the game crashes at a random checkpoint in single player, progress is saved and you can continue. There is no continue from a checkpoint option in multiplayer. So if the game crashes and you're hosting, you have to do the entire level over again.
Proton 7.4 and Proton experimental made no difference. Both have the same crashing issue.

Had to use an older version of Proton (5.13-6) to be able to use online multiplayer. Other than that, everything worked perfectly.
