I use SteamTinkerLauncher to set gamescope, so the launch parameter might differ slightly.
Stuttering and low framerate when playing without gamescope. No performance drops when using gamescope.

Following void's report for Thronefall, I got the game working with the following: delete any existing compatdata folder (steamapps/compatdata/2272400), then launch the game once with Proton 6.3-8 (or some other earlier version, 7 worked for void for Thronefall but not for me for this game). Afterwards the game runs fine for me with GE-Proton8-16. Before it would try to launch, open no window and automatically stop after some time.
