Ran fantastically. Really blew me away how great the performance was. About 40-60 fps with high to ultra settings.
Ubi is annoying, and makes you sign in the first few times you launch it. That did go away after maybe the fifth time for me. After that it doesn't prompt for login anymore.
Cloud saving doesn't seem to work through Ubi, so be sure to manually backup your save
Ran great on Steam Deck
Fun game to play on Steam Deck - I had no issues playing it.
Played through the whole game (50+ hours) on Linux. Haven't even tried it on Windows
Some lagging when text on screen, and when on max settings. Nothing extreme though.
Disable "Frame Rate Limit" which I believe to be Vsync. Vsync will cause a delay with button inputs (and I didn't notice any tearing)
I also have it running in windowed borderless. No more input delay as far as I can tell.
Pre release demo: Running great with Proton-5.8 Glorious Eggroll
Played through the full pre-release demo. Doesn't mean the finished game will run this well, but it certainly is a good sign
Took a long time to load upon first launch, after that I've almost played for 10 hours with only one crash.
Ran better in Proton for me than the native version did
Ran fine on my system. It ran in a small window, but I think that's intentional for what the game is
Ran great, no noticeable difference from Windows
Game crashes when clicking on create dino button. This likely isn't an issue for most gamers, as they can just use the above options to customize their dino
Played through demo. Ran very well aside from some slight stuttering
Stutters at times but goes away pretty quickly
Ran great! No issues I saw
Added power limits
There was the occasional stuttering, but tinkering with stuff like rendering distance got rid of it for me.
-provider Portal
Launch command helps if you want to use a non-steam account, but isn't necessary. I've played for probably 80+ hours on Lutris, and now on Steam. Both work perfectly.
Ran great for me. You have to use trigger for left click by default. Very enjoyable, played 7 hours.
Game ran great with proton, did not try native - Multiplayer worked great when playing with friends (I hosted)
Ran great, was able to play with a guy I matched with through the whole game
Ran very well, aside from some minor issues it is very playable
Game occasionally had issues coming back from alt+tab - menus stopped working
Game stutters when watching (listening) to video in the background
Ran perfectly - Online functionality had some issues
I had fairly frequent disconnects from the multiplayer, although I didn't spend time troubleshooting. May not work well if you care mostly about the multiplayer aspects
Ran great, some minor dips in framerate, but I don't know if that's related to Linux or not
gamemoderun PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Runs great!
Very minor issue with the water texture. Hardly noticable though except when playing missions near the docks.
I'd highly recommend playing the game on Linux, my only issue was with water textures and it was minor.
Had to disable IPv6 for EA App to work, as well as use Proton Experimental. Terminal commands to disable IPv6 on Linux: sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6=1
Ran great. Played about 5 hours on Linux (I think I played more previously but I'm not sure)
You can access the main menu without issue, but cannot enter single-player or multi-player games. Window blinks and does nothing
Seems to work fine
Crashed once during my short test, may have been due to downloaded asset, not the game
Multiplayer worked fine
Game crashes very frequently, and has low framerate. However, by spoofing my vendor ID from Nvidia to AMD, and NOT using Glorious Eggroll, I was able to create an extremely stable, and enjoyable experience. It is now running perfectly.
Spoof Nvidia to AMD, don't use GE, don't stream high resolution video to another monitor while playing
Ran perfectly, I didn't notice any problems
Multiplayer was great, no issues whatsoever
Very great, no major issues
Sometimes lost connection in between games, but never during.
Ran okay, north of 30 FPS. I played about 2 hours and decided the game isn't for me, but it runs fine.
A little hard to play with the small screen depending on your view mode, however it runs flawlessly and controller support is solid.
Ran great for 20 hours. Played two runs on multiplayer as well without issue.
Ran great. Keep in mind that the main menu is always lower resolution, even after you change it. That's just part of the original game. The actual gameplay does go all the way to 1440p
Ran fantastically without any tweaking
As other's have said, the launcher is broken, but you can still hit the button that says "Play"
The game launched, but no input would work on Proton 5.13-2. Running it on Proton 5.0-10 ran perfectly
Anti-cheat error if you run with the default Proton, use GE
Works great out of the box, some visual bugs but it is a Bathesda game
Game lagged sometimes, but definitely still playable
Game has no controller support, so you need to use community layout / customize it. Otherwise runs great.
Changed right joystick to be scroll wheel
An error occurred (missing executable)
"An error occurred while updating Vegas Pro 13 Edit - Steam Powered (missing executable)"
It then shows a path to the exe I verified does, in fact, exist, but it's in the wrong folder. It installs under common, but then looks for it's executable inside an additional folder. Moving the exe did not solve the issue
Works fine, somewhat lower framerate than on Windows
As others have said, you need xboxdrv running
Launch option: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
And use this custom Proton package: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Had issues with crashing on default Proton, but Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST works great!
I did need to turn down the graphics lower than I would expect on Windows, however it is still very playable and I still get over 100 FPS
You can run the Daemon with a secondary tool such as Lutris.
Add a locally installed game, choose your existing Who's Lila prefix (path should end with compatdata/1697700/pfx
), for the Daemon path, choose your install path ending with
/steamapps/common/Who's Lila/DAEMON/DAEMON.exe
That should run the daemon with ability to connect to the game.
