Becomes inactive after a few seconds "Please Verify file integrity"
Games seems to be working fine till this messages pops up. I found bug reports back to 2021, changing proton version didn't help, using the "low cost/stable" version in the launcher didn't help. Games is borked atm, this seems to not affect every player, buy at your own risk !
Worked good right away, didn't have to change a thing. The controls are not the best but its functional and was able to do what was needed

The controls are not perfect by any means but they are usable once you get use to them. I found things a little overly sensitive and a tad inaccurate with the controls but I was able to do everything needed during an hours play time. For the type of game this is, it controlled better than expected on the Steamdeck (when compared to some other city builder type games).
No need to run it with a different compatability setting as it starts up and plays fine right away. Controls at times can be a little annoying, but overall its usable.
Works perfectly! But you may or may not have a little trouble.
It seems the majority of people have this game working out of the box. But, seeming it didn't work quite perfectly for me the first time somebody could have a little trouble with it.

Full screen works, but when alt-tabbing to another program the full screen shrinks and stutters.
Very early access, lots of missing items and rough edges. (Feb'22)
Shortly after starting a prompt comes up to "Check/verify local files" and then the gameplay freezes.
Tried proton 6.3-8, 5.13-6, experimental
Works till main menu, but game unplayable
game asks to "verify file integrity" in half minute from start. i did run integrity check through steam but i still get same popup window. when i start new game before popup appears is successfully starts, but then again i get that integrity check request in few seconds and game freezes. Esc menu works but it newer goes back to main menu so game is unplayable right now.
Game start after a minute maybe 2 i get a box verify game.
I can still go to menus and settings but when i start a game the field stays empty and nothing happens. Have to close game manually.
Played 10+ hours in almost one go, restarted to a save I'd made an hour earlier as I was getting wiped out by the plague. No issues at all.
Not had an issue since 1st report as not needed to change from borderless to fullscreen again (doing this the first time locked up the game), been fine in fullscreen since.
Edge scrolling is too slow (nothing to do with proton), devs are looking at it or hopefully implementing mouse dragging.
Game runs well.

The Demo of this game just runs in Proton, no tinkering required with my setup.
When running in Borderless window mode, ALT-Tabbing does not work, as game still covers everything except for the taskbar, even when switching to another window.
Did not test any extended gameplay (yet).
