Shows a white screen on both Native & Proton (Including default and GE)
Must launch in windows.
Crash at black screen during startup without updated GE. Game does not perform well on windows either.
Couldn't connect to multiplayer on native version, Proton works.
Works out of the box.
The game runs well but sometimes for whatever reason it will bog down and perform worse. Not very common but requires a restart to return to normal performance.
Very minor stuttering when overlooking some areas. Otherwise perfect.
Little stuttering over large LOD's (at least at the start of the game) Otherwise perfect.
Render of character during creation froze at some point. Could make changes to character but I couldn't see them until I loaded into the game world. Minor Issue

Marginally worse performance than windows
Had no trouble with save migration from the original death stranding, other than the original having to be installed.
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME
Changing between fullscreen and borderless mode causes resolution to swap, makes it very hard to switch to the correct one. Did not see this problem in windows.
Games switches back to assuming MKB when no buttons are pressed on the controller (With Steam Controller)
Seems a little slower than windows

Game started with a bizzare resolution and on wrong monitor (not system primary). Had this happen on windows before so I can't say it's specific to linux but was a small frustration on first launch.
Choose cancel when prompted to login - Multiplayer does not work
EAC makes multiplayer impossible, game boots up and plays well.
Haven't had much change to play summoned. White spirits appear and look fine, bloodstains don't seem to work. Messages appear as normal.
Under game library search proton experimental and set to bleeding edge beta, for multiplayer support.

Multiplayer worked well
Need to close game through steam library button as regular exit leaves process hanging.
Spent hours trying to resolve an EAC failing to launch issue resulting in the "inappropriate activity detected" warning. Tried everything to no avail. Turns out if you have played Star Citizen and used the lutris tools to get that game to work on linux it will edit your hosts file in /etc/hosts that makes accessing the EAC servers impossible. Comment this out if this issue exists.
Takes a little longer for launcher to start as compared to windows. Otherwise no issues.
If using a Sennheiser GSX 1200 Pro depending on your configuration the audio is borked. Ambience and music loops a few seconds in, some sounds are quiet and others loud. Issue is present in other games.
FIX: Switching from "Mono Chat + 7.1 Sorround" to "Pro Audio" in system audio settings.
Map Speed is absurd which results in reduced encounters. Could not fix this in the configuration without also adjusting resolution.
Occasional slowdown to low fps. Resolves in a few seconds.
If using a Sennheiser GSX 1200 Pro depending on your configuration the audio is borked. Audio slider does not work, some sounds are quiet and others loud. Issue is present in other games.

Alt+Tab sometimes freezes the game
Used https://github.com/rockerbacon/modorganizer2-linux-installer to get MO2 to work. MO2 seems to work best for modding.
Also had to install an Anniversary Patcher to revert the game to a modding stable version. This patcher also bundles a 4gb address fix, removes GFWL and fixes mod limit. Easiest way to install was to rename the patcher's exe to the games launcher exe, otherwise work your way around protons prefixes.
Also installed ESM patcher using the same method.
The rest of the modding process is per preference

On startup there is a horrendous loud machine noise. Otherwise no problems

Using Sennheiser GSX 1200 PRO I had loud machine noise at launch. Changing audio from "Mono-Chat + 7.1 Sorround" to "Pro Audio" fixes this. This problem exists in various games.
Infrequently the mouse will escape into other monitors.
Game will stall upon closing. Have to close through steam.
Maps dont download properly so might have to switch to linux build and back to download them. Game servers are fine after issues with files.
Occasional crashes in servers.

Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
May or may not have to use a lutris script to get the launcher to install itself correctly. Try through steam first using custom proton, otherwise try installing launcher through script and then launching through steam.
Used Glorious Eggroll as base proton had issues

Game is fine, getting Rockstar launcher to work is the main headache.

After tabbing out of game sometimes the controls stop working normally and require a restart.
Haven't had success with modding as most require windows programs. Was able to use Peacock server (linux version) to skip mastery locks.

Added steam tinker launcher so I could launch with cheat engine.
If you want to mod it helps to create a shortcut to the local mods folder inside the appdata folder. Windows has the same issue.
Works well.
No issues. I tried to setup the mod manager through wine but it doesn't work. Manual mod installation might be possible.

gamemoderun %command%
Near flawless
Game is reluctant to allow taskbar and other windows to appear over it. Works better to hold alt-tab and click the windows to tab to. Very minor issue
Steam workshop works well. No major issues. "Auto download mods" for multiplayer sessions doesn't work properly, you might have to track down the mods on the workshop rather than the game doing it for you.
Launcher options for vanilla gameplay Several other minor tweaks to allow for modded gameplay
Very likely you will have to set a launcher option using steam. "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command%"
This is a problem on Windows as well, but for 144hz gameplay you must tweak the games INI files, which are a bit harder to find on proton. They are located within a tree of folders under steam leading to a cloned windows directory for the game. Modded gameplay will require Lutris to run Vortex and renaming SKSE to base file names. May have to add some symlinks from vortex to the games PFX folder for plugins.

Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Scenic Cutscenes are missing unless using a custom proton build. Consider using Glorious Eggroll.
I used ( Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 )
