When you open the game and have the option to resume, new game, options, quit, behind that is a blue box with -301 in the top left corner
Proton Hotfix was the only version that would run after trying 9.0-4 and Experimental first without success. Aside from the graphical glitch in the start menu that doesn't hinder anything, the only problem is I can't get non-workshop games to run using -mod=mod/"HIP.mod" -mod=mod/"HIP_Patch.mod" to get them to be recognized like another submission noted. I still have HIP installed but haven't figured out how to get it to work. Workshop mods work fine, though.
Work on AsahiLinux

gamemoderun %command%
I only play singleplayer, so I don't know if multiplayer works on Linux. To have better performance at the cost of higher resource usage install "gamemode" and use my launch options, but make sure that no or a couple programs are running while playing.
If youre trying to Mod without the Workshop you need to add these Startup options to show them in the Modlist. Otherwise they wont show up
-mod=mod/"HIP.mod" -mod=mod/"HIP_Patch.mod"

The exe would not open in native, Proton experimental or Proton 9.0-3.
I didn't try multiplayer, but singleplayer works out of the box with no issues.

weird missing textures in the main menu
Couldn't join my friends' games

Launcher shows up just fine. The game itself is just a black screen.

Paradox game being paradox game, so expected bugs, but none linux specific
As well as it does on Windows (so many oos)

Playable out of the box, runs perfectly.
Do note that some mods may have bugs due to system level differences in scripting; Vanilla does NOT suffer this issue. For A Game of Thrones, there is a county whose script is capitalized, which is read normally on windows, but causes an error on linux systems. To fix this check the A Game of Thrones Discord server, they'll have a file you can download, or with some tinkering you can fix it yourself. Reiterating this is an issue with MODS, not Vanilla.
Works natively OOTB.
Works perfectly.
Works perfect out of the box

PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=0 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9,version=n,b" gamemoderun %command%
Improved the game's support for double-byte text with a patch. (https://github.com/matanki-saito/CK2dll)
Without the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=0 parameter, the game loses graphical performance, without the WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9,version=n,b" parameter and using the CK2DLL patch, double-byte characters in East Asia will not be supported (localized translations do not work). Other than that, the game works normally.

Much faster load time when playing on Linux in comparison to Windows 10/11
I use Openbox instead of GNOME now, so I do not know if there are any changes since my last report regarding windowing/fullscreen.
Playing on Linux (tried it on Linux Mint 21 and Pop! OS before) is much faster in terms of performance and loading speed than on Windows 10
Native game was set to be windowed at 1600x900 resolution but was bordered fullscreen with no way to change the resolution manually on Wayland GNOME. Switching to X11 GNOME resolves the issue altogether. GNOME version: 3.38
Switch to X11 GNOME if experiencing windowing/fullscreen issues on Wayland GNOME (at least for me it works, I forgot if I experienced a similar issue on Linux Mint or Pop! OS).
Recommended mods for those with similar hardware: CK2Plus and CleanSlate (or just CleanSlate) and submods that don't spawn a lot of characters or conduct a lot of checks/events in the background.

In case your game fails to start, download this custom version of libtbb.so.2 from Github and replace it in your CK2 folder. https://github.com/ecrc/bemfmm/blob/master/TBB/lib/libtbb.so.2
Nedded custom Tbb from Github in order to start the game
It works better than in Windows 10.
gamemoderun %command%
The buttons clickbox was shifted a bit

Perfect ootb experience, no tinkering at all.
Just set the layout to a community made one and you are good to go. Running the game at max speed can cause some FPS dips.
Works, natively.
Runs natively out of the box better than on windows
Some jiggery pokery is required for mods if you're using the Flatpak version rather than .deb, but it's easily solved
Roda melhor no Linux do que no Windows no meu computador.
Native runs perfectly. Didn't need Proton.

Couldn't connect to multiplayer on native version, Proton works.
The game runs perfect.
Everytime I start the game, I return to the home screen, but the game does not freeze or anything. I simply click the icon and I'm back at the main menu.
slight fps reduction in game, significantly slower load times, game takes 5-10 minutes to properly launch and the first few minutes of gameplay will be remarkably slower as every new menu requires a few seconds to load
After several hours of playing(3-5), game full on crashes my computer, only happens in this game so it's not a hardware issue
If you aren't running mods, run the native version. Unfortunately, however, many mods aren't compatible with the linux version so if you want mods, run it through proton
Minor bugs, but else works flawlessly
Sometimes the controls were totally messed up after reloading a save, some windows would appear cause it wouldn't recognize a clicking for a certain action, while other actions with the same button were possible. This might be a CK2 issue tho
See input section
Crashed once, might be CK2 tho
In the main menu something cant be displayed properly (webcontent?). You can set some other thing tho which makes the broken one disappear, it doesn't affect gameplay at all
The game does not work well for me natively, but when I run it with Proton, it works perfectly.

Native Linux version stopped working once I upgraded my OS to 19.10. Forcing Proton on it makes it work flawlessly.

Proton is better than native port, because anti-aliasing is available.

Game works native on Linux. It works fine out of the box on Proton. I installed D9VK and it worked great too, even when testing it with the new ACO compiler.

Game works fine native and on Proton.
