There are no saves in the demo (without it being said ingame / store)
When hitting more than 2 enemies, fps drops for duration of attack (especially noticeable with 3 enemies)
Sadly this game does not run on my maschine
Sadly this game does not work on my machine, startup fails with "LoadSystemAndDependencies(): AppSystemDict: Error in Init() of interface 'RenderDeviceMgr001'!"
and in proton it just fails silently, also gamescope
and SteamLinuxRuntime
does not help either
SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 %command%
When using wayland (KDE Plasma), the game currently requires to set SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 %command%
, otherwise it will fail to start with error LoadSystemAndDependencies(): AppSystemDict: Error in Init() of interface 'RenderDeviceMgr001'!
aside from that, it runs smoothly and no other crashes or problems
"../Portal 2/portal2.sh" -game "../Aperture Tag/aperturetag" # %command%
Mod only supports loading the latest save, meaning if you skipped something you have to re-do the whole chapter if wanting to experience it
One Crash on level change
Mod requires "Portal 2" to also be installed (not just owned), also requires setting a custom launch command, because by default it does NOT launch on newer distros (or when not having i386 packages installed)
Game works great, no problems (not played much, because i have already played normal AC3)
Game tried yesterday, working great, started today and does not start beyond splash screen
I could try the game yesterday for like ~3 hours and wanted to start it today again, but it did not go beyond the splashscreen (instantly crashing?), had already tried to clear shadercache, compatdata and game reinstall and also reverted the system to its state yesterday (btrfs snapshots)
When the Game is first opened and no config exists, the game starts on the wrong display (in KDE Plasma Wayland) and does not like to be moved around with HOME+ARROW KEY(S), this can be fixed by first entering the title screen and going to graphics options and select the correct display
Steam Overlay needs to be disabled, because opening it up locks up the game, and without opening it up you cannot hide the Game-Key message (Uplay overlay works just fine, even if it does not display anything sometimes)
When Starting the game the mouse should not be moved and no buttons should be pressed until uplay displays something (not just a shadow, at least on KDE Plasma Wayland), otherwise uplay may never finish to start up and needs to be restarted

Also, the game may lock-up before getting to the title-screen, which requires restarting the game and sometimes restarting steam completely
Game runs fine while being in-game, though set-up and and occasional start-up lock-ups are a bit annoying, also uplay may sometimes just refuse to work
Considering my hardware, it ran fine on High Graphics settings (slight micro stutters here and there and when too many people are on screen)

When Starting the game you should not move your mouse or push any buttons until uplay displays something (not just a window shadow) (at least on KDE Plasma Wayland), otherwise uplay may never start up correctly
also, when the game is started, like in other Assasins creed games, it needs to "Check for Additional Content" before the title screen, which may not finish sometimes and requires to restart the game & uplay to try again
When dust (like in ship breaking / boarding) is active, performance drops heavily
If the overlays (ubisoft & steam) dont show within like 10 seconds of the game starting, it may freeze and require a restart. The best workaround i found is to immediately try opening the ubisoft overlay before it freezes.
Game does not render anything (black screen) when not having "PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
" as launch options
When using KDE and resizing the game on the display where the taskbar is, the game will resize under the taskbar (can be fixed by moving the game window to another display, maximizing it, and moving it around with HOME+ARROW KEY (in my case))
It is weird that the mentioned launch options are required to have anything displayed
Also, other users have noted that the Achievement Dunk the cookie
is not possible, but i just tried and it worked for me
SPOILER for how to get the Achievement
(you get the Achievement by resizing the window so that the "big cookie" is in the milk)Game always goes fullscreen by itself
Sometimes the game is sluggish and not all clicks are registered
When started without PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
, it crashes instantly or does not display anything
Game always goes fullscreen by itself
Sometimes the game is sluggish and not all clicks are registered
Now runs fine without enabling the PROTON_LOG
Sometimes inconsistent walking speed with keyboard & xbox controller, otherwise it just runs fine, only other thing to note is when using "fullscreen" i goes out-of-view, needed to be brought back with HOME+SHIFT+Arrow Keys
The game is currently, with plain Proton (and wine, and Proton-GE) not playable (at least with sound)
tested was Proton 6.3, Proton Experimental, ProtonGE-5, ProtonGE-10, ProtonGE-12
When having multiple displays, the game will limit resolution to the lowest one, even in fullscreen while being on another display (fixed with gamescope)
Tested on KDE X11 and KDE Wayland
After the first Patch, it was very smooth at ~50fps on HIGH, before it was kinda laggy at ~40fps on HIGH
Only with good hardware (way better GPU than i have)
Needed to push ALT+ENTER to get into fullscreen, otherwise it will just get stretched
Many 60 to 1 to 0 fps drops, not only cinematics
Crashes, when first starting and when not having an registered Account
Dont Select DirectX 12, stay at DirectX 11, otherwise it will just crash after the launcher
Trying to use "Windowed (No Border)" Crashes the game
Mouse was not captured, so it stopped at the edges of the display, had to use raw capture
Mouse was not captured, so it stopped at the edges of the display, had to use raw capture
gamemoderun %command%
While in menu or in weapon wheel, mouse is not locked to the window bounds
With preset Medium and dynamic target of 30fps, i get ~38-45 stable fps, considering my GPU is a Vega 64 (which is technically lower than minimal system requirements of RX 5500XT on steam).
Proton-6.5-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Tested with proton 5.0, 5.13, 6.3, but only "Proton-6.5-GE-1" worked (to progress beyond the intro scene)
Could be fixed with "PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%"
Game Starts on wrong monitor, had to change using "HOME+ARROW KEYS"
And Fullscreen did not display anything (but did not crash the game)
This game only became stable after setting everything ingame from "ultra" to "high" ("ultra" was the default)
Setting /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_dpm_force_performance_level
to profile_peak
Setting /sys/devices/system/cpu/intel_pstate/min_perf_pct
to 70
Otherwise, game would be below 30 fps and be an slideshow, afterwards, i got an stable ~30fps (60 being the target)
PS: also let steam & the game completely compile all shaders when asked
On first startup, it may take a bit to load in the map & everything on it, about ~1min at most
When having a distro like "Linux Mint 19.2 Tina" and everything up-to-date from packages, you still need to install the real-latest mesa drivers, otherwise the game will show you "Windows 7 SP1 is at least required" - or use PROTON_USE_WINED3D
Thanks to the occasional Crashes / lockups & fps drops, i would not recommend it for casual gamers
When fullscreen once set, restarting the game, always minimizes itself
Drops from +60 to ~10fps in any areas
Crash - in the meaning of that it just stops working (but audio still plays...), but no response otherwise
When having multiple monitors, on the first start the game needs to be moved to the correct display then restarted to add higher resolutions to be selectable
Sometimes the game would not correctly grab the mouse again after alt-tabbing, could only be fixed by multiple alt-tabbing (mouse would be locked to the center and could not move around)
Sometimes the game would just drop by 30fps (from 75 vsync, also tried unlocked) in areas (with high graphics settings), but system is not used much
The Game is fully playable, though sometimes there are performance drops
Sometimes the game would not correctly grab the mouse again after alt-tabbing, could only be fixed by multiple alt-tabbing (mouse would be locked to the center and could not move around)
Sometimes the input for camera movement seemingly lags behind and is smoothed out, the only fix is to completely restart the game
The Game is fully playable
Current Update (Frontiers) does not start
Tried Proton version:
- Steam Proton 6.3-7
- Steam Proton Experimental
- Proton-6.18-GE-2
steam overlay does not work for the native version github bug
If wanting to resize the window or play fullscreen instead of playing on an ~800-600px window, runescape stops displaying anything
window resize could not be done without runescape stopping to work
Use the Native Linux Client from the Website
VN text seems to be very low fps
- if steam overlay is enabled, game will lock-up in the first loading screen
- the game's account login moves up and down a lot making it impossible to click / input anything, moving window to another display fixed it enough to login with steam
- there are some things which i think are CEF(Chromium) windows and so dont load
Tried in the Free 3 days period, but game does not launch
Tried the game with Native, Native SteamLinuxRuntime and via proton (both native also tried launching stellaris executable directly), with no errors but it would just immediately exit
When Starting the game (set to fullscreen or borderless) it minimizes to task bar, easily resolved by clicking on the icon on the taskbar (alt-tab dosnt work in this case)
Steam Controller Config has to be "Forced Off"
Game only reads config (sound, graphics, controls) after entering the title screen and pressing a button, which means it starts in windowed mode and only then goes fullscreen if selected
mouse & keyboard dont work, only my Xbox One controller or Steam Input does
This Game runs great, except some late game (DLC2) areas, where slowdowns can happen
Game works and is relatively stable, but there is a softlock early on
Once the first "Argo" quest is oveer and the shop opens, it does not load and restarting the game asks "Ready. Close notice to continue" but no notice (dialog) ever opens and just has a infinite loading circle (unable to continue further)
Proton Experimental only has a black-screen when started, switched to 8.0-3
Proton-5.11-GE-2-MF GloriousEggroll
An custom version of Proton is needed, https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Sometimes, the game starts with graphics not shown correctly, and sometimes it just works, see this github issue comment for screenshots
On KDE Plasma Wayland, the game always start on the wrong display and minimizing / restarting the game always brings it back to the wrong display, fixed with gamescope
Steam Input does not work, had to disable it for the Controller to work
Some windows will not load, likely because they are embedded chromium (Terms & Conditions / EULA, some random window before Log-In, Release survey)
After the workaround for the performance degredation it will work just fine
Sometimes drops to 15-20fps, changing graphic settings to lower (and then going back to higher) fixes it
Demo version 0.58.2402050920
Silently Crashes
the native port randomly crashes, and more than 5 save games result in an crash loop
After loading the world after game start it might be laggy for about 5 minutes, but after that really its smooth
The Game dosnt have "VSync" / lock FPS, so my GPU pumped out 3000+ fps, which lagged the game, had to set "vblank_mode=3 %command%" in the start options
Once running out of memory, you have to restart the game to not lag anymore
Game works fine, though text is somewhat blurry (voice line subtitles) and there are no graphics settings and uncapped FPS.
Just beware that the final boss can spawn many objects that use very much RAM, you may have to close other things for this game to not lag in this situation. (16GB on KDE Wayland is just enough to not swap)
Intro Starts, and the crashes, when fast enough i come to the menu
- to try a next try, must close and reopen Uplay
- Disable ESYNC lets me run it for more than 5sec (10sec max) (Uplay: May Update - Tuesday May 21st 2019)
Proton-6.5-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Fixed with "PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command%"
Fullscreen (not borderless) makes the mouse sluggy in the interface
Fullscreen-borderless weapon scope ("zoom") super fast (sensitivity in game settings does nothing)
In DX11 mode it flickers for a few seconds when regaining focus
Benchmark does not properly run - only stays initial black screen (but is running behind it - a character can be controlled and the map can be opened)
also when in DX11 mode there is no HUD ingame - regardless of what the HUD settings are set to
This Game is basically "Install & Play" and runs fine (after the shaders compile for a few stuttery seconds)
only thing to note is that the DX11 mode does not run properly and DX12 is the default anyway
