Works just fine out of the box.
works well

Some item and menu text is a little small, not a big issue for me though.
Fun game, but turn the graphics to low, anthing higher and the game runs really badly. Works great on low though.

Main menu gives false hope of the game working, but as soon as I try to go into a mission it crashes.
I have tried changing every single setting I can, but nothing works. I've tried both in the native Steam deck resolution, as well as 1920x1080 connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

for some reason, if i wanted to get the maximum fps i need to set the graphics to "Default settings", even if I tried to go lower than the default settings I would get an fps decrease
Works perfectly fine out of the box

Runs good enough
sometimes a windows like error screen with an assertion error. Usually around cut scenes
Certainly not perfect, but I did not have any game breaking bugs or inconviencences other than the occasional crash when a cutscene was about to play or finish.
Works great without changing anything

While I usually use gamescope with most games, the game/benchmark would not launch if gamescope was used. Gamemode is also not necessary, but I figure it doesn't hurt to use it anyways. All forms of input, mouse and keyboard or Xbox controller work as expected. Performance is on par with Windows.
MY RUNS HAVE ZERO TWEEKS EVERYTHING RUNS OUT THE BOX...
An amazing experiance on linux! I used a modified ASUS TUF FA506UI, AMD Ryzen 7, 1060ti 16gb with the same POP_OS installed and everything runs good, with some skipping on the higher end and some bugs but rare.
Proton 7th version is the best way to play in my option.
Using a System76's Serval WS. This game runs at a solid 60FPS on all Ultra and High settings completely maxed out..

Turns the game into a slideshow, even on low graphics settings. Menus would open fine but game performance would tank once an area loaded in.
I don't have the best hardware for this game, but it ran fine on Windows, and is near impossible to play on Linux given how badly it slows down once in the actual game. Tried using multiple version of proton including GE, protontricks, gamemode, and other launcher commands and nothing else I've tried as of writing this fixes the performance issues.
I turned everything to low except textures
For some reason any small text is incredibly blurry, for example when near a gun the prompt saying "pickup gun" will be unreadable
Using GE Proton caused the game to be visibly less fluid
HDR is bugged as it detects my monitor as having it (it does not) and absolutely ruining performance and colors. Hard to turn of (game likes to override the change).
The game forces to fullscreen and also changes the resolution to your monitor resolution (which does not sounds bad but you cant run in lower resolution at all).
Slide show even with lowered settings

Capped at 40 fps on high settings, game plays perfect with zero issues. Highly recommended on the Deck.
Crashes after Initial Settings/Starting Menu

Game crashes after initial Settings/Starting Menu without error message

i'd say it works very good
after long sessions ingame, while using the instinct a lot, the ambient sounds sometimes stop working
mouse-input was sometimes lagging after sessions longer than 5 hours
The game stutters occasionally
Occasional stutters, playable but a little annoying.
The stutters make the game uncomfortable to play. An avid Hitman fan would certainly be able to put up with it, but otherwise it impedes on the experience.
Works out of the box

Hitman 2 as installed by default crashes when booting the game. Only when actively setting the game to use Proton Experimental did it stop crashing on boot.
The game works fine but I personally found the screen too small to make it enjoyable. It's too easy to miss details you need on a small screen. As it is, if you can live with this limitation, it's a solid experience with the FPS staying between 30-40 at the vast majority of times at default settings (with DX12).
10-20fps with medium settings, but even with that it's still playable.

Hitman 2 : "one screen at a time please !"
It is only working without Steam Input.
I got less than 30fps at the very lower parameters. Windows gives me a real better experience.
Do not use ntfs filesystem even on fast usb-c. Launch works on ext4.

Used DX12. Working perfectly and performance is great.
All menu text appears very pixelated and ranges from barely readable to unreadable. All in-game text such as subtitles renders just fine.
The game appears to ignore the option to launch in DirectX 12 mode, it will launch in DirectX 11 mode no matter what. Strangly enough the benchmark will respect the setting and run in DirectX 12 mode if selected.
This game used to be able to run smoothly on my system/systems, but it doesn't work anymore. Neither dx11 nor dx12.

When the game launches, I've tried tinkering it with using DirectX11 or DirectX12 and changing the graphics to low/default.
Whenever the game starts, you will be prompted to press either return, X, or A if your using controllers to play. As soon as the button is pressed the game crashes and closes out. I've tried different protons, and I've even addded a launch command to skip the launcher/cutscenes and still no use. Luckily, I connected my IO interactive account to Steam and Epic games so that I can play Hitman 2 maps in Hitman 3. Since I own Hitman 3 with epic games. If anyone was looking for a way around this problem. I don't know why the game has a borked status to me, but it sadly does. I can't fix it felix this. :/
Dropped the refresh rate to 40. Wasn't necessary, but trying to make battery last.

Stutter when options are set to DirectX 11, while DirectX 12 runs just fine
Make sure to set DirectX in the options menu to version 12 for best perfomance
Runs
Stuttering with DIrectX11, no problem with DirectX12.
