GE-Proton is not necessary, it's just what I use. Modding also works fine.

The game works perfectly fine, except for the issues mentioned below. It's pretty much playable out of the box.
When maximizing the window, the mouse was offset by a little, messing up inputs (for example, in the language selection screen, if you wanted to choose English, French would be selected instead). Putting the game into a non-maximized state (either fullscreen or simply windowed) prevents this issue.
Game sometimes freezes for ~3-5 seconds, then returns to normal. Can mess up golden cookie combos, so beware!
works perfectly out of the box
Very bottom of the screen blocked by taskbar when in fullscreen
Everything seems to work 100% out of the box

Works perfectly fine. By default the right touchpad autoclicks like turbo/autofire, which can make it hard to control buying items, but that can be toggled by pressing the right touchpad. Once autofire is toggled off, you can click normally with the R2 button.

Runs great OOTB
Can't alt-tab when in fullscreen

worked out of the box with 0 issues.

Works almost perfectly out of the box.
When maximized the bottom of the game hides behind the taskbar.

Only showed top 1/4 or so of the screen, tried forcing scaling but didn't work.
In maximized window mode the mouse was innacurate. Otherwise was accurate

FPS limited to 60. The game doesn't really take advantage of the extra frames so there isn't much of a visual difference

%command% --force-device-scale-factor=1.5
With or without fancy graphics/CSS filters, parts of the UI can flash in and out of existence.
With fancy graphics/CSS filters, icons will occasionally overwrite each other, and more stylized text elements such as the building counters will distort and become unreadable.
Without fancy graphics/CSS filters, some icons or HUD elements will disappear, but stylized text will not distort.
The fullscreen option is fine, but maximizing the window (which is a behavior that the game performs on startup) causes the bottom and right bounds of the viewport to exceed the window, causing part of the game to get cut off. This is problematic since vital functions of the game such as the building counters and some of the upgrade buttons will be off-screen as a result.
This can be worked around by either fullscreening the game from the options menu or not maximizing the window and instead clicking and dragging it to fill your screen.
When the window is maximized, the area where the mouse clicks will also be misaligned.
Graphical glitches and artifacts can cause issues in terms of gameplay, especially if it hinders important visual HUD elements such as building counters or upgrade icons.
Full screen caused part of the game to cut off.

Works nearly perfect. No game breaking issues.
When maximized, the mouse pointer was slightly offset. Un-Maximized was fine. After relaunching the game, it was fine.
Does not launch

%command% --force-device-scale-factor=1.25
Sometimes switches between different audio devices when starting the game. After initial boot up, works normally.
If not in fullscreen mode, all buttons are slightly offset which makes them not clickable in places they should be.
Very slow on my machine but it's probably because of Electron. It works flawlessly in the browser.
Crashes out of nowhere and closes Steam, when trying to start again, sometimes doesn't turn on which is likely caused by the process "CrRendererMain". When killed, games starts up just fine without the need to reboot my system.
The problems I'm having are very minor, I don't even care about the performance since I'm AFK'ing most of the time but besides that, it's a very good experience.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% --force-device-scale-factor=1
I had to tinker for a while, but I got the game running. PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
didn't work. Use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
instead. --force-device-scale-factor=1
is there for convenience. Change the integer if you need a larger/smaller UI. If you want to fix the ugly fonts just copy the fonts from a Windows install C:\\Windows\Fonts
to your prefic directory SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1454400/pfx/drive_c/windows/Fonts/
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
makes the game slower, but at least it runs.

Game Feels Good to Play

Very slow on my machine but it's probably because of Electron. It works flawlessly in the browser.
Crashes out of nowhere and closes Steam, when trying to start again, sometimes doesn't turn on and I have to reboot system to be able to play again.
This is just my experience with the game, not everybody has the same setup as me and in turn will experience it differently. I do still have to click the Big Cookie.

Game runs perfect out of the box
It's a browser game about clicking cookies, how could it not just work?
install, play, Click the cookie. It's as simple as that.

Runs well outside of trying to play maximized
Input is inaccurate and offset when maximized

The cursor is a bit lower that it is shown.
Game works as expected, just the cursor lower that it is shown.
Took a bit longer to load than on Windows, but beyond that, worked as expected.

Game works perfectly fine on X11. Unplayable however on Wayland due to a crash after resizing.
Crashes after the splash screen when on Wayland. Works fine on X11.

--force-device-scale-factor=2
Missing textures upon startup. Seems random. Restarting fixes it.
Resizing the game causes a crash on GNOME making an achievement impossible
When not in fullscreen the place you click and the hitbox of the mouse do not allign
Random lagspikes every few minutes that last up to five seconds. Visuals freeze when left on for extended periods of time
Rare crashing

gamemoderun gamescope -e -w 1920 -h 1080 %command%
Part of the bottom of the screen was cutoff by default. I used gamescope to force it into 1920x1080 windowed mode and this fixed everything.
I used gamemode because it prevents PC from going to sleep and this is an idler after all.
Works flawlessly without any tweaks

Reduced right trackpad sensibility. Waay to high by default
Mouse cursor is slightly offset from where the game registers it. Have to move it slightly above anything I want to click
Game window sometimes (rarely) disappears entirely. Right clicking on taskbar, exiting, and restarting functional, though.

Works quite well
Resizing the game window is quite laggy, and adjusting the window size too often freezes the game.

Sometimes some of the text seems a little small on the steam deck screen

Button's interactboxes shift when fullscreen
At almost 4000 hours, the grind never ends
on certain resolutions and fullscreen the buttons are misalinged such that you have to hover your mouse above where the buttons are to click them

Works OOTB.
Fonts aren't rendered correctly. Might be an issue with my system rather than the game though.
Full-screen mode didn't hide the KDE UI & caused the bottom portion of my screen to be hidden by the task manager. Can be solved by going into windowed mode & resizing.
Aside from the minor issues I mentioned with full screen & fonts, this game runs pretty much perfectly. Steam Cloud sync worked as well.

Whenever hovering over something in fullscreen it would not match what I was hovering on but windowed is fine
Works pretty much perfectly on my 200 hour save
Practically identical experience as on windows

Game runs well on any modern proton version, even on a save with 3000 hours of playtime and 100% achievements. (biggest flex)

Works fine as long as in fullscreen
When in windowed, the game acts as if its in full screnn at least for what button is being pressed
