MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=zink %command%
45ish fps, fix boosted to 60fps
Steam OS 3.6 seems to have regressions with OpenGL, this command forces the game to run in Vulkan through zink. Fixes framerate being low.

(No launch options used)
PS5 Dualsense was working fine but not detected by the game itself. I fixed this by forcing Steam Input in steam settings and changing to a generic gamepad control scheme in Steam Input instead of using the one offered by Bandai
I am not sure if the issue with my gamepad was relevant to Linux at all but it is posted here for anyone else that may come across the concern.
i've beaten the original game story with no issues what so ever

First run needs on gaming mode requires some work arround:
- Run steamdeck in desktop mode and launch the game
- Start a new game or load a save file
- once you can reach the settings go to the graphic settings and enable fullscreen
- save settings and exit everything go back to gaming mode !
you can face some slow perfomance in some parts of the map ( not a big problem ), Just one action requires on the touchscreen ( to open the messages but also be done with joystick, just need to open main menu ).

A little tinkering required, but it works mostly out of the box.
during dialogue sequences, the background becomes visibly blurry
Had to disable steam input to make controllers work
having stutter in some scenes

Use DSCS Mod loader by SydMontague on GitHub to untie the the players movement from the framerate this makes the game feel significantly better, especially in places like the kowloon. This mod can also disable v-sync and unlock FPS.
The mod also fixes the black screen problem as well.

Not getting 60 fps
The game runs perfect out of the box but for some reason i can't get this game to run at 60 fps, it's locked around 40-55 fps, it's kinda annoying but it is very playable, changing the resolution from 720p to 4k doesn't make any difference in performance, it's just make the image better, Last thing i noticed is that this game doesn't use much of GPU and CPU for whatever reason, but overall it is 100% playable, i never had any crash

Worked perfectly out of the box.
Game runs great, no issues

The game starts in windowed mode by default and only shows a black screen on Gaming mode. It must be started once from Desktop mode and switched to fullscreen, then it works in Gaming mode.
The game slows down significantly in the Kowloon area with the default configuration. Switching to Proton GE fixes this.

Game slowsdown in multiple sections.
Had to launch game in desktop first and get to the point where it lets me change to full screen. After that it works just fine in Gaming mode with slight slowdowns in certain sections.

Originally I had to change the game to fullscreen in desktop mode on the first launch, but it looks like it is no longer a concern.
When the game is switched to Traditional Chinese, it crashes. There is no such problem in English. Other Windows games do not have this problem when switching languages. 当改成繁体中文的时候,游戏闪退。用英文没有这个问题。其他windows游戏切换语言没有这个问题

Power Tools
Slowdowns in Kowloon
There is some slowdown in Kowloon in some spots. Disabling SMT in power tools seems to fix this and it will run at a steady 60 fps with minor drops during battle transitions. Playing on SteamOS 3.5 and latest proton as of posting. No longer have to worry about fullscreen issue.
Runs okay most of the time, I am able to play it but I am saving constantly now due to the number of crashes.
Had to launch in Desktop mode and then swap to Fullscreen to get game to boot in Game Mode.
Game slows down at times in Kowloon and has crashed repeatedly in this area.
Save often!
Changed "Start" to "Y"
The players movement speed is slower, when the framerate drops below 60. Some areas only run with about ~40 FPS. It's kinda annoying but not a huge issue.
launching in Game mode will display a black screen while the opening audio (movie) plays.
Exited, switched to desktop mode, launched the game, chose fullscreen option and selected the game I wanted to play (in this case, Cyber Sleuth), then exited and switched back to Game mode.
After that, launching in Game mode was fine and currently past the initial digimon selection.
switch to Desktop mode, enable fullscreen
mesa_glthread=fallse %command%
I had to do a few things to get it working. In the game properties, enter "mesa_glthread=false %command%" into the launch options and set compatibility to GE-Proton7-43. After this is done, go to desktop mode and launch the game. Click on the "..." button, go to the battery settings and enable "Screen Tearing".
The last step is to launch the game in desktop mode. You will need a mouse to do this part. Once the game is open and you can select any of the two games, go into the game options, and set the graphic settings to run in "Fullscreen". Once this is done, you will be able to play the game in Game Mode.
In desktop mode, once you reach the two game selections to play, the game will suddenly lose focus making your Steam Deck input revert to desktop mode and you are no longer able to interact with the game. You must connect your mouse to the Steam Deck to partially interact with the game with only confirm button aviable.
The game will only display pitch black in Game Mode since the game is in window mode, and require to be set to Fullscreen to work. However to set it to Fullscreen, you need to enter the game with Desktop Mode but the Window Mode causes the game to lose the Steam Deck gamepad input at the game selection screen. You must use a mouse and keyboard to go into the graphic setting to set the game to run in Fullscreen.
You will suddenly lose control of your Steam Deck input at the game selection screen.
Games requires tinkering, otherwise you will be stuck with a pitch black screen with audio upon initial boot-up in Game Mode.

Boot up the game in game mode, only had black screen. Using desktop mode, you can view the game, but once you're at the game selection screen, you lose control of the gamepad input and can not select any of the two game to boot up.
game plays and sounds normal except, it is not displaying any image on the screen.
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 DXVK_HUD=compiler %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -nothreadtimeout
The only problem I had was my fault because I din't installed all driver correctly beforehand. The game runs fine with just proton.
Game will initially start in windowed mode.
Disable steam input for controllers to work.
Using mesa 22.3.1 resulted in black screen, downgrading to mesa 22.2.3 will make it work again.
Also, steam overlay won't work, but steam achievement is working fine.
SteamOS 3.4 fixes preformance issues inside of gaming mode. Didn't have to enable any options in steamOS.
You need to open the game in Desktop Mode once and set the game to run on fullscreen. Then, using SteamOS 3.4 (right now in preview), set the "Allow Tearing" option in the Performance options (using the (...) button). It will run flawlessly!
With SteamOS 3.4, enable the "Allow Screen Tearing" option, and the game now plays flawlessly!
Slowness in game mode due to forced V-Synnc in the Steam UI and forced V-Sync in the game with no toggle.
In desktop mode, the slowness is only in some Kownloon areas but runs 60fps otherwise.
Without using Proton GE 7-37, the game would crash constantly.
You need to launch the game in desktop mode and set it to fullscreen as game mode doesn't like the window on initial launch. You also need to use Proton GE 7-37 to resolve crashes.
Unable to see in Gaming mode. Need to go to desktop mode first, then change the window option to fullscreen.
If you are hearing music but not seeing video, see title.
Tried experimental, ver 7 and ver 6 of proton with no luck.
Set the TDP down along with the framerate to 30, it will run similar to the vita ver.
game blackscreens whenever switching to windowed
Game has unstable framerates but its playable
Don't alter the display settings and it will all work fine.
Game has the same problem Dragon Quest Builders 2 has--despite very low CPU/GPU utilization, it runs at 30-45 FPS in Game Mode. However, it runs at full speed in Desktop Mode. Some speculate there's a double VSync going on, but I can't verify that. Also of note: The game will have a black screen in Game Mode by default--in Desktop Mode, change from Windowed to Fullscreen, and this will be fixed, but not the choppy framerate.
See note about switching to Fullscreen in Desktop Mode.
Same framerate issues as present in Dragon Quest Builders 2 in Game Mode, very likely the same problem.
If the problem affecting this in Game Mode can be found and solved, this will likely fix multiple games with Namco Bandai rendering engines.
Runs good right out of the box. I would recogmend limiting the FPS from 60 to 40 for more battery as this is just a turn-based RPG.
Swapped the start and select buttons to match their icons
Limited to 40 fps
Windows mode in Game Mode causes issues. Requires you go to Desktop Mode to switch to Fullscreen prior to playing in Game Mode.
The game has crashed 4 times in the 9 hours or so I've played for. I suspect it isn't a Proton issue, but an issue with the actual game itself. Save often. I have lost probably 45 progress due to the crashing.
I remember when most games would be in fullscreen mode by default. This is one of those games that could benefit from it. That would put it at "no tinkering required to make it work." If it wasn't for ProtonDB existing, I honestly would have thought this was broken and not bothered going into desktop to see if I can make this game work. Thank you, other contributors, for making this game playable for all of us.
Fix the blackscreen by switching from Windowed to Fullscreen in Desktop Mode and play in Game Mode Fullscreen should work fine.
Capped framerate to 30 FPS
First startup launches the game in Windowed which causes a blackscreen on Game Mode. Switch to Desktop Mode and play through the game enough to access the settings menu to switch to Fullscreen. Otherwards, the game works normally in Game Mode in Fullscreen.
If playing on Desktop Mode, pressing the Steam button or the Menu button causes the Steam Deck built in controller to no longer work for that session. Buttons works fine in Game Mode.
Game worked perfectly out of the box. Not sure why Steam says it's not supported on the Steam Deck.
if run in a window, deck game mode sees a black screen. Go to desktop mode for initial setup to get it into borderless or fullscreen
Windowed mode makes the game show black screen in game mode. Use desktop mode to set up fullscreen or borderless
Desktop mode runs out of the box, gets at least 6 or so hours on deck after setting it to borderless so it runs on game mode
Framerate is borked, stuck at 42 FPS for me regardless of settings or area, similar results seen by looking at benchmarks of the game on Youtube on Steam Deck
Not recommended as performance seems to be bad regardless of settings while in Game Mode.
Performance seems better when Launching on Desktop Mode but Pressing the "Steam" or "..." Buttons makes the game stop responding to any input and requiring a relaunch.
