As long as you dont visit the level-select to often its fine
i get about 40fps -> it runs worse than minecraft (capped 60fps in a 3d game) on the same hardware
while in the level-select screen it sometimes crashes due to

Native buggs out after a few seconds and freezes. I only tried to launch it in "no anticheat" mode and had no unexpected issues in my 4h singleplayer session. As expected of ark i had to turn graphics to the lowest possible (-> stuff pops into existence 1m in front of me and looks like on a n64).

I have all graphic settings turned to the absolute lowest possible value (except resolution, which is at 720p) and get around 5fps while staring at the ground
Pressing the Join Arc
(aka multiplayer) button crashes the game

Within GE it took me 10 minutes to load the graphic settings-page and set it to low, which still gave me less than 1fps and a crash when opening avatar

If you have no issues with a bit of stutter and usually forget to take breaks it works well enough

I tried (each a few times): native; native with the start arguments; proton (experimental); proton with start arguments; Proton (5.0-10); Proton (5.0-10) with start arguments a black fullscreen window pops up and disappears after a few seconds - no errors/..
All game dialogue assumes i use a controler (but im not) and cant be dismissed/… - usually you can just walk out of the dialogue area, but equipment-drones cause a softlock since they require you to aknowledge the info with "y" on a controler and dont let you escape it.

It didn't show anything when launching. after trying to get debug-messages by starting steam via bash the problem vanished and there havent been any issues (even in the logs). no idea how/why/…
without GE the post-tutorial loadingscreen is broken and dosn't finish.
after switching to GE no issue in 4h of gameplay and good performance.
its probably a good idea to skip the ~5h shader compiliation (it gets slower and slower) and accept the worse performance since performance is not a problem.
The game isnt very polished (bright levels, boken ignorable tutorial, etc), but it seems to be the game and not proton

I basically tried every single fix mentioned in the last 6 months and it didnt work with GE-Proton7-24 - after switching to GE-Proton7-9 it worked
VSync is broken
After escaping from fullscreen and going back in the window was transparent
Mouse and Keyboard not detected - had to physically unplug my controller and restart
It crashes about every hour if you dont do something it dislikes (like ending fullscreen) - if the same happens to you sigkill steam.exe and steam to get your mouse back
All text and audio was in my local language even tho my system, steamaccount, etc are on english and i cant change it (and the translation is pretty bad: informationdata means savegames, etc)
GE-Proton7-9 works, but newer versions do not. if you constantly save and have no issue with restarting constantly go ahead
Some texts are placeholders (Enemy.IntroText1 Enemy.IntroText2, etc)

When switching to a diffrent window/workspace during fullscreen all main-menu items will break (they still make sounds when clicked, but thats it)
Custom xmomap settings are weird (esc mapped to caps-lock does not work, but r mapped to s does work and is pretty annoying)
The game launch takes 7-12minutes
sometimes it freezes with a black screen during the boot-screen (once in 4 boots) and about half the boots dosnt even open a window
It runs, but the annoyance of starting it (resetting xmodmap, starting it, waiting forever without touching anything, 70% chance of having to retry, etc), and the inability to switch windows just make me not want to start it again.

With my x86 setup the mouse didnt turn the character at the start of ttt rounds (~3sec during setup)
Native & Basic proton work fine in singleplayer, but multiplayer crashes.

i was stuck in the intro at first - pressing escape and then quickload fixed it

For some reason it didnt launch until i forced the proton version (although i have the exact same version as default version) (maybe just retry it often enough idk)

After starting it the 16gb RAM slowly fill up, everything freezes and you have to force-restart

, which could be intended, but since the logs are littered with python tracebacks, which contain the same text i assume something is broken. it is still playable since the broken text does not seem to be important for the story.

Almost no issues in 15 hours
Issues i had within 15 hours of gameplay:
- the car i was driving disappeared once
- sometimes enemies disappear
- npcs have no props (instruments, tables, etc)
- the bavarium dlc has no allies (-> you have to swim after capturing something) and seems to be unfinishable (the storm stays forever)
- the emp cannon never turns of (-> you cant use planes in a certain area of the map)
- im unable to fasttravel / use the rebel drop (im not sure if its borked, normal or due to accidentally skipping a part of the tutorial)
- fullscreen window switching is slow (i3wm)
- streaming it reduces the fps from a constant 60 (capped by xrandr) to 2 (other games loose only ~10%)
no noticeable issues
the musician npcs have no instruments, but everything else works fine
low fps (i3wm fullscreen) and inability to find any online games without a good offline non tutorial option.
With minimal graphic settings i had extreme lag in the menu and slightly less ingame - still its not enjoyable for me with ~10fps + lagspikes
A jump and run without platforms and a visual novel with half of the text missing isnt fun
Half of the speechbubbles are completly invisible and you have to guess their location and contents
The main menu only accepts about 30% of my inputs
My GPU can handle a lot of demanding games, but not this visual novel (100% gpu usage, 5% cpu usage, and 20fps according to mangohud)
Im not sure how much of this is caused by proton, how much by unity, and how much by weird game design, but this is not how any game should play.. especially combined with the game-design decision to make the text extremly slow (even in speedrun mode) and the platforms collisions very weird
The game has no fullscreen and full-screening or resizing via xorg breaks the controls -> just resize it via f6 (or whatever it tells you on the menuscreen) and play with whatever it gives you
Unable to load the tutorial
GE7-20 dosnt even launch, but 7-24 can view the menu and log in, just starting the tutorial crashes it. (i have the proton-easyanticheat-runtime installed)

1gb/s downloadspeed should allow it to download the flash player within the 15mins i gave it
Some dialog boxes have no contents

I have all available "Proton * Runtime" installed and tried multiple mentioned lauchargs and versions
Cutscenes are slideshows and constant pauses with absolute minimal graphic settings (and for some reason 720p) (which btw looks awful)
didn't even complete the tutorial since the tutorial bots kill enemies before they are even rendered, etc

My old settings pre fortification: 60fps, after: <20fps. New settings for consistent 60fps:
- everything to low (except render distance)
- disable proton-upscaling and use the games integrated amd upscaling instead (the nvidia dosnt work) (and reduce the ingame resolution manually)
- restart planetside after changing any graphic settings

Since todays update switching to other windows at any point completly bricks the game (taskkill it)
Quiting the game breaks your mouse (you cant click) -> find out how to open/focus a terminal/dmenu via keyboard beforehand and run pkill LaunchPad.exe

Ive been playing it via proton for a while and today i was unable to login since the username-text-field was not clickable with experimental and GE9-1 (multiple tries). with GE8-32 it (and everything else) still works.
The launcher is broken
I can play the live version fine, but every time i try the test version the launcher says Insufficient storage. You need to free up 1GB of space where the game has been installed.
and refuses to start the game.
i have only one mounted drive with 670G of free space and according to protontricks open explorer
this also exists within wine.
Same expierence as i had on windows (same pc): lags and high usage (12gb ram & 20Load) with minimal settings

In the past GE7-20 worked (and had way better performance than the newer ones), but it stopped working.
newer versions (i tried GE7-42) require to circumvent DirectX11. PROTON_NO_D3D11=1
creates a blank screen and PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
makes the game even slower.
Sometimes its possible to reach the main menu (where characters have glitched textures), but sooner or later you run into a 104
error, which can be fixed using bethesdas tutorial. Afterwards you will be greeted by a login screen (and since i never created a account before, i had to create a new one, which can't log in for some reason)

Traversing the map is extremly laggy no matter the settings
I cancelled the "compiling vulcan" after 2h of multiple attempts
(mouse & keyboard) Reload dosnt work and i cant navigate weapon shops at all (clothes, etc work fine)

Update: For speedruns fine, but even for just causing mayham its annoying to have to replay the intro every time
Saves work, as long as the game isn't closed - retried it a few times and after task killing (closing dosn't work) the main menu with working saves the saves disappear

Unlocking a weapon ends in a softlock (alt+f4 -> restart works)
i have set all graphic options to minimal -> 50-60fps (with default settings ~2-15fps), but the graphics look good -> i assume it just uses a new metric for good

I would recommend using DFU (Luxtorpeda takes care of installation, etc) and optionally DREAM (https://www.nexusmods.com/daggerfallunity/mods/5 + recommendations) since it improves the experience a lot (better graphics, stability, controls, settings, …)

The game only updates while a key is down (even during animations) -> it feels like playing sega desert bus

It uses DX12 per default. you have to change this to DX11 in the launcher.
With DX12 i got half-life 1 graphics at 25fps and a crash within 1min.
With DX11 i havent had any issues in 4h and got 50fps.
Unable to get it to run

The controller mappings changed while playing (Logitech Cordless RumblePad2), but keyboard worked as expected
Since keyboard controls take some getting used to and the controller constantly changed the mappings (or each menu has its own inconsistent mappings) it felt weird at first

it launches the ea launcher and the ea launcher does nothing. ok to be fair sometimes it does show a error has occured

after selecting proton v5.0-10 (which was recommended in another comment) it worked fine - otherwise the game and steam will crash on start

You have to set your keyboard layout to american qwertz/qwerty at a system level (you cant change wasd, etc ingame)
The fps are fine, but the downloadspeeds of avatars are not how i expect them to be with 1gig fiberglass lan connection (vrchat (th game) downloads in ~1min, but avatars sometimes take 2mins to load..)

It un-fullscreens on loadscreen start and end -> move it to a empty workspace and resize it
Disable Ingame Vsync (default is auto) - otherwise the fps will jump between 120 and 1 every second..
Vulcan caching is extremly slow - i started timing it, but gave up after 1.5h (it got to 60%) and skipped it. (also it dosn't always try to cache)

if you have a better pc its probably good
i meet the minumum system requirements, have all settings on the lowest possible setting and both hitting enemies at all and not driving into a wall is pure gambling
it crashed(?) once when i died (screen frozen, but sound, etc still worked) and i had to restart
its an alpha so maybe some/most things are game and not proton side

The WGC install script
My WOWS account is a WG account and therefore i cant play the steam-version with it..
I give up doing the devs work..

The devs forgot to install a bunch of dependencies, which i manually installed (see other section). now the game no longer pops up any errors, but just displays a light-gray screen. i assume some other dependencies are missing as well, but without knowing where i can find the log, etc i dont want to waste more time on this
After playing a round the screen just blacks out instead of a scoreboard or whatever is supposed to be there
might be fixable, but since im not to interrested in this type of game i didnt try
