Applied a fane-made patch to remove build in the game fps limiter https://github.com/BlanknameES/Div2Patch
Cutscenes work flawlessly only with this version of proton without issues

Game is limited to I believe 55 fps but after applying a patch you can find in the Steam community forum for the game I am getting a locked 160 fps. 21:9 Ultra Wide even works. The cutscenes also work without issue. You need to go into the game settings and disable the in game FPS limit it is not implemented properly. Use mangohud for FPS limit if you need it.

Videos work now out of the box. Runs well with max settings. But do not increase the fps cap or it stutters (a game engine limitation).
I was playing docked with an external monitor, but it's easy to tell that text would be tiny on the Steam Deck's built in screen.
Shadows on the player character look extremely jagged, particularly on the character's skin. I could not find any setting which fixes this. I don't know if this is a Steam Deck specific problem or an issue with the game itself.
This isn't something you're likely to notice often however. While running around in game the camera isn't close enough to really see it much. Looking at the character closer up (for example during conversations) is when the camera could be close enough to make it more visible.
The game gets very stuttery if you turn fps above the default 30 fps. It runs very well if you leave it at default.
I also turned off VSync when trying to figure out why 60fps was stuttering. I don't know if turning that off is necessary or not.
Ran docked in desktop mode with an external monitor.
Maxed most settings. Turned off VSync, Screenspace Anti-Aliasing (character outline looked ugly), and Render Light Shafts (looking up at the sun made the whole sky white. But that's probably due to the game engine rather than Steam Deck/Proton).
The old cutscenes not playing problem is fixed, which used to be the major problem with the game.

After a lot of experimenting trying to get the WMV cutscenes to play, I had some joy with GE-Proton7-25 specifically. Cutscenes seem to work on this specific version with no additional steps needed. Couldn't find any other proton version that played them.

No issues with cutscenes, etc for me - maybe fixed by GE (and using a newer version)

Fun RPG with some good mechanical choices and some bad. Overall it's very enjoyable and can offer quite a bit of playtime if you want it to.
Mouse control is usually completely smooth. Sometimes the mouse stops tracking for a fraction of a second randomly before going back to being smooth. This is a very small issue as fine mouse movement really isn't important unless you play as a ranger and even then it's not a real problem.
The menus are somewhat stuttery with the cursor but gameplay is completely smooth.

The game doesn't work
The DirectX and VCREDIST installation script is hanging in a loop
You need to interrupt the installation of directx and vcredist via the task manager

I have installed an additional: d3dx10, d3dx9, mfc80, mfc90, vcrun2005, vcrun2008, physx. But cutscenes are not played, and the game freezes.
game freezes
Bad performance
Menu runs at 20-30fps and gameplay is about 40-45 fps. Considering my rig this is ridiculous, and none of the graphics options seem to help (including disabling/re-enabling Vsync)
Poor performance in-game and in the menus.
Nearly flawless out of the box. Only the in-game videos which shown in the skill tree don't work.
In-game movies work fine, but the mini video player which gives a short clip of your 'Skills' does not work.

Broken, Installation failed!
Installed DirectX, VCRedist, PhysX via Protontricks
After Steam-Install only the Divinity 2 installer window is showing up. But it's not working and crashing to desktop. Manual installation of the stuff the installer probably would have installed (DirectX, VCRedist, PhysicX) doesn't change anything.
There's a mod that increases font size that helps considerably. https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=463279
Prerendered cutscenes are unfortunately broken even on experimental and GE but works fine on current Proton 7.0-2 otherwise.
This game works just fine so far. Changing the controls layout to Keyboard (WASD) and mouse still allows play with the controller sticks.
In game text is on the small side.
No issues found

Aside from the choppyness and cutscenes, the game seems to work fine.
Seems to runa bit choppy
No cutscenes, seems to get stuck but just press "Esc" and it'll work

Not Working
Using the latest versions of Proton nothing happens when launching game, it immediately closes. If I force Proton 4.2 the game menu comes up but wants me to install the game (it is already installed in Steam) but when I click install the menu simply closes and the game shuts off.
Other than cutscenes not working (the game "freezes" - just press ESC to skip), it worked fine out of the box with no slowness.
Only works on proton 4.2
Fullscreen only works if desktop resolution is set to ingame resolution otherwise the game shows just a black screen
There is a noticeable performance decrease compared to windows
The cutscenes don't seem to work although they did play once for me when i was messing with the settings so your millage might vary. The game did not run well on my computer. Stuttering issues and 30-ish fps. Changing the resolution in game crashes the game and shows a black screen afterwards. The way to fix this is to change the screen resolution to match the in game resolution. Better experience on windows.

Gameplay works perfectly. Cut scenes broken
Cut scenes do not work
Cutscenes does not work, game seems stuck, but hitting Esc terminates the cutscene and game will continue.

Works acceptable
No cut scenes.
After disabling the V-Sync, game is playable. It does not perform great, but delay is acceptable.
No cutscenes, poor performance.
The game appears to be fully playable besides the fact that the cutscenes do not work.
Video cutscenes do not play, skip them with ESC
Performance is great now. Don't forget to raise FPS cap in options. The only downside is broken cutscenes.
In it's current state the game is not playable at least on my system.
The game runs absolutely unplayable, it runs at ~1fps

Like others have said, cut scenes do not play and it feels a bit choppy. After looking for a fix it seems Windows users also have the issue with the game being choppy.

Cut scenes do not work.
The actual game is playable but the visuals feels a little bit choppy

Everything works as expected. Zero issues.

For the most part it works fine with Proton 4.2-3 with the exception of the cutscenes which just hang. I am simply pressing space to skip past them but have not yet found a solution to get them working properly.

Game runs well out of the box. Main menu is slow and performance not astonishing but well playable. Resulution cannot be set to other than native because the game won't lauch when doing so.

Runs perfect out of the box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAT_qNBljGE

Doesn't launch if you change the resolution, other graphics options work

No issues to report

Set graphics preset to Ultra, afterwards change resolution to 1280x720 and Antialiasing to 2xMSAA, works perfect after that.

Error during the installation of VC Redist "error creating process msiexec /i vcredist.msi"
Game doesn't start

Cut scenes don't work

Very laggy in menu and in game. Turning off Vsync fixed that. Cutscenes do not play. You can skip through them by pressing escape, otherwise your screen will have a still image for a bit. Everything gameplay-wise works. Mediocre performance. 1080p/35-50fps
