Runs like a charm. Used to get crashes but they seem to have resolved
I used to experience crashes at random, but they don't seem to continue to be occurring. Game runs fine now, but this is listed for clarity
Be prepared for some chugging
Extensive in-game config
Assets slow to load
This game is slow by nature how I play it (with many new asset loads and car customization), but works fine despite the battery drain
Non-Unreal version crashes at startup with an OpenGL error. Unreal version crashes after clicking through the first menu
PRESSURE_VESSEL_FILESYSTEMS_RW=$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/wivrn/comp_ipc %command%
Unsure how to continue
Works just fine
The game runs remarkably well on later rounds (80-120) for being Bloons of all things, meaning the Steam Deck's CPU is probably pretty damn good. I'm not good enough at the game to vouch for anything past that.
Consistent crashing makes the game unplayable. This persists across various versions of Proton
Seemingly completely at random
Still a bit worried about crashes happening because I was only on it for a short time, but it seems good right now.
Game runs well when configured well. Not perfect on this machine but only because the specs suck
Nothing of note, really, though I haven't given this a try with default Proton, as I don't own the game on Steam.
Works like a charm
A bit worse performance than Windows but nothing really of note
Lag right before the start of races due to shader loading makes race starts unplayable. I've only observed this on this rig; it's fine on my Steam Deck
Game freezes on loading before initial menu
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
A solid experience that plays similar to mobile
Touchscreen handled a bit weird compared to mobile. Expected, but notable
Game runs at 10 FPS, when I can run the game at 120 FPS on PC
I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, but this doesn't seem like a game that's good out of the box like other reports I've seen.
DXVK_HUD=compiler STAGING_SHARED_MEMORY=1 __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE=1 __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Massive lag at game start. Must load into practice range, tab out, then tab back in to get frames to maximum of 165.
Settings do not save. This may be a perms issue but does not appear to be the case currently
See specific entries for my qualms. Despite the initial hassle, once the game is running at full speed, it runs flawlessly at better speeds than Windows native.
Game takes a while to compile shaders even with shaders cached already. Game blackscreens on bootup due to low framerate, but as soon as you're in game with some cached shaders it'll start out at 30-60 FPS and become more stable as you play
Launch options I previously used disabled Steam's own shader cache, leading to much more problems. Don't add any launch options and you're fine
Nothing major, expected for the Deck
A bit laggy on deck, but nothing major. Playable. Works as a handheld way to play PSO2
Why is this one of the best experiences I have had running a 3D game on Linux
Barely made it to the first menu. Game ran at single digit FPS the entire time
Literally runs perfectly; my previous review was done with the nouveau drivers, which aren't nearly as good as the proprietary option.
Works out of the box. Probably works on Linux too, for anyone with the NVIDIA drivers setup.
Game crashes at launch, does not show any debugging errors
Unsure how to proceed further
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Literally the first game I booted up to test out Proton. Works like a charm once setup
Native Linux port does well, but some graphical issues inherent to the Linux version disappointing
Loading screen does not display similarly to Windows. Linux version generally iffy despite near parity with Windows
Runs better than native Windows in my experience, if only because of Steam Input
Surprisingly... it works perfectly
On some boots the updater window makes it difficult for Gamescope to detect the window or the game crashes entirely
Crashes sometimes when updating
Touchscreen needed
Works without a hitch
Handles every mode at least decently. Low graphics required and character models will take some time to load in on Fighting Ground character select, but this is a Steam Deck playing a relatively intensive game, so that's inevitable. No frame issues
Plays fine
Loads textures/models slow at times. Can lead to crashing. May just be a problem with hardware but it seems a bit worse at this than Windows given how imbalanced my system is
A bit worse than Steam Deck Verified would imply but playable
Likely due to system temperature or updates
Plays smoothly, but controls do not fix themselves after reverting controls from Colemak-DH to QWERTY unlike on Windows
Keyboard commands assume a non-QWERTY loadout and don't let me fix it
DXVK_HUD=compiler %command%
Warframe does not frontload all of its shader compilation due to the large amount of content in the game; as such, there is pretty heavy lag when loading into a new zone, but it compiles quickly. May not for everyone
Occasional frame drops, better than when running on GE
Works practically flawlessly
Crashes Waybar on boot for some reason???
I'm a little mad about Waybar crashing but in reality it's not big deal
