Well two reasons, it's an aim trainer, and 2 the windowing switching issues, occasional lag, and other stuff mostly would keep one away.
If you have anything but GE-Proton or Proton Expiremental running, when you try to get into the actual traing window, it likes to stay in the main window instead. Typically if that happens, I'd just put Steam into fullscreen mode, and then Alt-Tab straight to the training window and bypass the main window entirely. I don't know why that is sometimes, but it works for some reason.
Same thing as the Windowing and Full Screen issue. Sometimes it wouldn't register that I selected the other window to go to.
Depending on what you have running also it might lag a bit, but that's mostly just from Linux itself and how it handles memory allocation. As long as you don't have too many background processes running you should be fine.
Lag sometimes when Linux allocates memory, and not much you can do about it without just restarting the game.
It's iffy because sometimes it runs even better than the windows version, but other times there's no point in bothering with it cause when it does have its issues, they are very rough, and for a thing that is supposed to help improve you aim is practically useless during those times. I'd say if you think you can manage to deal with the occasional lag, one every so often, quit out and restart it when it happens and it'll usually be fine. If you don't wanna bother with any of that, then there are other Aim Trainers that run a lot better than this does.
Can't run
No issues here
После последнего глобального обновления 3D Aim Trainer перестал запускаться
Не с одним протон трейнер не запустился
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
More laggy then playing in browser. DRI_PRIME and other env variables work for Choosing gamemode window, but not for the Actual game window, so you can't use dedicated GPU or Mangohud
Without PROTON_LOG=1 it gives JavaScript error: EINVAL: invalid argument, uv_pipe_open
Screen area is too big, text is a bit small to read.
Some courses will crash, but will start up if you boot it up again.
Enabling gyro controls is a must here.
DRI_PRIME=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_WRITE_WATCH=1 %command%
Works fine with latest Proton-GE.
Fails to launch
Does not open any window, have to kill the process. Tried both default proton and experimental with no difference. The browser version plays very well though, don't know if the one on Steam adds any functionality.
Fails to start any training.
For less than a second there's an empty Unity error window opening and closing.
Failed to initialize graphics when start playing
Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed
work
Runs out of the box, leaderboards and syncing with the web version work, all courses work.
Ran at 30fps on max settings, ran perfectly on medium and low
JavaScript error on startup
Unable to start the game due to an Uncaught (JavaScript) Exception, see here: https://i.imgur.com/CiMIwYt.png
3D Aim Trainer - JavaScript Errors on Start
It tries to starts and then the JavaScript window appears and then stops.
The game runs pretty flawless with Proton Experimental, with other Proton Version I didnt had a that good play.
Crashing sometimes.
