Each title installs uplay separately. While that's not entirely unexpected, it prolongs the initial setup.
Following launch parameter fixes the audio
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=”xaudio2_7=n,b” %command%
Extremely blurry textures if esync and fsync are not disabled
Fixed by disabling esync and fsync
Do NOT run the native version
Don't run the native version as it syncs different saves and you won't see your characters you had while playing on Windows. Instead, force a specific Steam Play tool and select Proton on Compatibility tab.
Doesn't run on newer versions of Proton - Process launches, but the game is not visible.
Integrity check complains about "invalid data" and issues "penalty" forbidding online play.
Frequent lagging and stuttering when the game loaded new assets and textures. Once they are cached, it plays smoothly, but unfortunately the loading occurs pretty often.
Disabling V-sync in game and lowering details helps too. "Very high" and "Ultra" settings cause the lags and stutters appear often enough for the game to be unplayable. Applying esync and vsync tweaks and capping the details on "high" makes the experience better, but still subpar comparing to playing on Windows.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
(Make sure the quotation marks are the correct ones. ProtonDB comments may replace them with U+201D character instead of U+0022)
NPC lines missing, fixed via WINEDLLOVERRIDES
Works out of the box
Each title installs uplay separately. While that's not entirely unexpected, it prolongs the need for the initial setup.
Works out-of-the-box
I was pleasantly surprised that the game install, run, and works even with all the Rockstar Club bloatware.
Works out-of-the-box
The game doesn't support modern resolutions and has no setting for V-sync, so if you don't want to have 700 FPS like I had, force vsync externally.
Works smoothly out-of-the-box
Slight stutter and lags on ultra high settings while prefetching assets and textures. I didn't see such behavior on Windows, but capping some setting on very high solves the problem and makes the game look still perfectly fine.
Works almost out-of-the-box (from second run onward)
No audio during the first run, but no problems in subsequent ones.
Access violation errors
Configuring wine to different Windows version doesn't help.
Convert music from WMA to OGG
cd ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Oozi\ Earth\ Adventure/Content
find -name "*.wma" -exec bash -c 'ffmpeg -i "{}" -q:a 10 "${0/.wma}.ogg"' {} \;
Thin white border
Remove OpenAL library from game directory
rm ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Original\ War/OpenAL32.dll
Voiceovers in cutscenes missing, fixed by removing OpenAL32.dll
Works out-of-the-box with minor issues
Crashes (resp. freezes) on exit
External V-sync or FPS limiter recommended, otherwise it runs on 800 FPS.
Works decently
Lags and stuttering while loading new assets (models, textures etc.), but works well once everything is cached.
Works out-of-the-box
Camera movement feels choppy, but that may be a problem in the game itself, not in OS / SteamPlay / Proton
Works decently
After you're dropped into the world, asset loading takes fairly long compared to Windows, so first couple of seconds are very laggy and choppy, but everything runs smoothly after the assets are cached.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
(Make sure the quotation marks are the correct ones. The others reporting that it doesn't work for them probably copied it directly from ProtonDB comments which replace them (U+201D character instead of U+0022)

With Proton 6.3-7, the picture was off center, but the mouse hover and click were registered on places where the controls would normally be if the picture would be centered. Works without problems in Proton 5.0-10, though.
Works decently
Lags and stuttering when loading new assets, usually when loading a new area. Runs smooth after a few seconds, once everything is cached.
Works out-of-the-box
Minor lagging and stuttering when loading assets, usually in the beginning of level. Lowering setting from very high helps.
Works well enough
Menu not loaded after the intro on DX11. The game needs to be run using DX9 (second choice in Steam launch options) in order to work.
Alt-tab crashes the game
Without disabled esync freezes after loading screen
Widescreen mod from http://www.wsgfmedia.com/jackfuste/UFO%20Aftershock/UFO_Aftershock.7z
Black screen unless run with --option fullscreen=FALSE
(Mind the two dashes. ProtonDB displays them as a single one in the previous comments)
Works out-of-the-box, needs thorough first-time setup, though
Weird initial setting of brightness, contrast, and gamma. Needs to be corrected manually on the first run.
