Works good with no crashes the whole playthrough
The mouse cursor does not disappear. It's an issue with the game itself but there is a patch if it bothers you. I also did not get playstation prompts, which apparently is supposed to happen automatically.
Works nearly perfectly.
1 or 2 crashes during the whole playthrough. I did read oa couple reviews mentioning crashes so it may simply be a problem with the game itself. Otherwise, it's not an issue as auto saves are plentiful.
Playable at a high framerate from the beginning to the end. No significant or gamebreaking bugs.
some weird windowing in dx12 when launched
when loading into a stage it may seem like it has freezed, just wait a couple seconds.
Installed the Committee of Zero patch
the latest proton versions have slow video playback
Proton FSHack makes it a more enjoyable experience at high resolutions(1440p+) than windows since the game only goes up to 1080p and won't screw up the scaling unlike windows.
disabled anti aliasing
anti aliasing kills fps and it also just runs pretty bad on an empty map
you need to bypass the launcher
Crashes make it a painful experience if you do not save frequently.
roads may disappear at odd angles
post crashes the game would still keep control of my mouse preventing me from using it until I restart X.
40 fps avg on high settings and large frefabs(like custom roundabouts) cause performance to drop heavily while placing them.
crashes within an hour of playing every time.
symlink Cities_Data to dowser_Data and Cities.exe to dowser.exe to bypass the launcher
runs perfectly
uses controller prompts if a control is plugged in(may be a game issue)
couldn't join my friend instead he had to join me. Linux for me and windows for hm.
Game runs good. At highest settings on my system I was able to run at around 135-150fps which made for an extremely fluid experience.
Needs PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command% to start at all.
flawless. runs like native
Just works (most of the time)
sometimes doesn't launch
Videos may not load using normal proton(did not for me). use ge-proton if you don't want any issues with videos at all
use gamescope to fix buggy alt+tab
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2951750868 for playstation prompts
https://www.nexusmods.com/fatalframemaidenofblackwater/mods/ for any other mods(some are nice to have like decensor or high res textures but are not required)
alt tab is a little buggy, use gamescope
ge-proton for video playback
use https://www.nexusmods.com/fatalframemaskofthelunareclipse/mods/2 for playstation button prompts
~40 hours on Linux; ~500 hours on Windows. The Linux experience is nearly as good as the windows experience with only a few issues.
some weird rendering of LODs not seen on windows
Alt get stuck after alt-tabbing. You need to press is again once you have tabbed back in.
In the social overlay your cursor won't appear and you need to geuss by hovering over a button(it will be slightly highlighted)
Saves aren't always synced.
Some crashes here and there.
On very rare occasions alt-tabbing will make the game run at 5fps. Sometimes it solves itself, other times you need to restart.
Works great on Intel Arc 770. Use the high refresh rate mod to uncap or increase the fps cap from 60fps.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8.dll=n,b' %command%
Install https://github.com/blueskythlikesclouds/DivaModLoader and add the launch options above, then install https://gamebanana.com/mods/380955 and configure this mod to remove the 60fps limit.
works like native with the exception of the opening that occurs on launch(with 07th mod)
opening cutscenes do not work
I've used MGROverride to play the game in 1440p. Restarting the game will set it back to 1080p so remember, 4 down in the main menu to get into the settings menu and set it back to 800x600 so it runs at your custom resolution. https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/722-mgroverride
Proton Experimental doesn't work; use Proton 6.3-8.
laggy pre-rendered cut scenes ruins the narrative of the game. rest of the game is flawless.
pre-rendered cutscenes run at less than a frame per second.
There are next to no issues regarding the game.
I couldn't log in to their online services. It probably doesn't take that much effort to achieve but it is something to know.
Works well with very little issues.
when playing on my laptop on the side, it was a little demanding to run.
I've had one or two crashes. They are very rare.
There was a moment where the characters stopped speaking after reloading a save and the game softlocked.
works fine apart from broken live tv cutscenes. if you want a just works no issues experience, it's not there yet.
game bug not linux specific: mouse look is broken
live tv cutscenes don't work. need to watch on youtube
Game runs good@1440p DLSS Quality with occasional crashes which can be annoying since the game doesn't let you make a lot of quick saves.
same weird LOD quirk I get on GTA V but less pronounced where LODs render in a weird half pixel arrangement which I never experienced on windows
occasional ERR_GFX_STATE crashes
-add run the game with vulkan and add 'PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%' in your launch options for DLSS support
-I use the hardware unboxed graphics settings for around 70fps
dx11_non_rt beta branch
crash with ray tracing
Just works.
may crash with ray tracing like resident evil 2 but I never tried it. ymmv
Base game + Seperate Ways DLC just work with no issues
I never tried ray tracing. If it's anything like re2 remake, it may be a little crash prone. YMMV
fps limit for oruboros fight with flamethrower.
in resolutions other than native res there will be black checkerboard squares after alt-tabbing
intro video didn't work correctly - had to watch on youtube
matchmaking works well
No issues.
matchmaking had no problems
Didn't have any cutscene issues unlike res5 or re:revelations
Works great apart from a handful of broken fmv
checkerboard effect if not set to native res like resident evil 5
A handful of pre-rendered cutscenes didn't work. I assume it's using the proton media converter/fossilize and it'll be fixed for other players since I went through them.
mouse acceleration is on by default, disable it.
Works great but with one extremely minor bug
A single torch had a bugged red flame when it was in the corner of my screen.
The game only supports up to 1080p so use GE-Proton and WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1
to scale nicely with monitors over 1080p.
Used the Committee of Zero steam patch with protontricks https://sonome.dareno.me/projects/sg0-steam.html
Game does not have a framerate limit, rather it caps it's framerate at your monitor's refresh rate. Use DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60
For scaling over 1080p use WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1
alongside GE-Proton
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
latest proton-ge
With the native port I had many problems regarding fullscreen and crashes. Zero issues over proton.
Works well. DX9 and DX11 both work but DX11 is around 15fps faster on my laptop.
I noticed some crackling when resupplying ammo. I didn't notice it anywhere else.
Uplay will ask for your password on every launch of the game. You also need to stop the uplay client as well or it'll run in the background racking up hours on Steam.
Multiplayer was shutdown in January but singleplayer works without issues.
on gnome if I alt tabbed I had to press alt+enter to get back into fullscreen
two crashes throughout the game. save regularly.
