A perfect experience on both desktop and the Deck

X-ray would not work with Half-rate shading enabled.

Majority of text is readable, even in the launcher window. Some text in the in-game options menu is very small for the deck's screen. Setting the options is a one time thing though, so not a big deal.
Using the Half Rate Shading performance option on Deck will cause X-ray vision to become completely white. X-ray works normally if this option is disabled.
X-Ray is a white screen, rendering the game unplayable. All other graphics, however, are perfect.
X-Ray vision is a pure white screen. All other graphics run well.
X-Ray issue seeks random, 0 other reports on this on ProtonDB and only a small handful of reports on Reddit

I could fully operate launcher in game mode using steam button+right trackpad, no issues closing settings window. Unfortunatelly the game syncs video settings, so you have to change resolution every time you switch.
The game looks very blocky on SD in 720p. By enforcing 1080p you can get it to look much better.
Once in game I encountered no issues.
Works good with no crashes the whole playthrough
The mouse cursor does not disappear. It's an issue with the game itself but there is a patch if it bothers you. I also did not get playstation prompts, which apparently is supposed to happen automatically.

To play in 16:10 you need to install AISomniumFiles2Fix from github and force Proton to inject the version.dll file. Afterwards it's just perfect. Improves grahpics quality as well.
Did not switch glyphs properly for PS4 controller
No videos unless you use Proton-7.1-GE-2

There is a launcher window with a "Video Settings" window that is hard to close in Gaming Mode. As a workaround, I recommend either mapping one of the back buttons to Alt+F4 so you can close the window that way. or launching the game one in Desktop Mode.
I didn't need to switch Proton versions for the video to work correctly. This is probably because transcoded video files are already being distributed through shader cache.
For the videos to work, use https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/7.1-GE-2
Video playback failed (lack of codec thus test-card video), this leads to very bad title screen.
If you want to change the graphics settings in the launcher window, you're going to have a hard time exiting out of the graphics settings menu in game mode. Either do this in desktop mode, or bind ALT+F4 in game mode.
The launcher can sometimes appear to be frozen on startup and not respond to inputs, opening the steam menu and closing it again seems to fix that.
Make sure to download a fully compatible version of Proton like GE-Proton7-21 if you notice that the game launches without showing the Spike Chunsoft logo video, or the main menu background is just a video-unplayable test image.
Custom proton versions may force 16:10 support when the game only really supports 16:9 aspect ratios, so you may see some unintended behaviour at the top and bottom of the screen.
At 60 FPS, you should be able to achieve around 4 hours of battery life. Limiting framerate to 30 fps might even get you 5 or 6 hours of battery life.
Default proton-7.x and proton experimental from Steam can not render the videos at all
TDP Limit = 5 still runs at 60fps
Game has a config launcher before going into main menu
Proton 7.0-3
Only one crash throughout playthrough, and that's after everything's done, probably an outlier.

Had to switch from Proton GE to Experimental for videos to work
Runs well out of the box. Using a mouse, it didn't hide my desktop cursor, displaying it over the game's cursor. Was a bit annoying, but didn't break the game in any way. Controller users won't have this issue. Haven't noticed anything else abnormal yet
Note that when using vanilla proton many of the game's builtin videos will not render properly, and instead display a static error screen resembling SMPTE color bars. Glorious Eggroll release 7.1-GE-2 renders these videos properly, and while 7-20 will display video, it'll render distorted output. Highly recommend installing 7.1-GE-2 specifically for this.
using proton experimental I have experienced no issues so far
Some pre-rendered videos or cutscenes would not show up, instead you would see something reminiscent of TV color bars. Using Proton GE fixed this.
This is a release day post, but I had to switch from my version of Glorious Eggroll to Experimental to get the game to install and launch. Other than that it plays very well. Just as good as the first entry did on Windows so far.
Changing graphics settings in the launcher will be problematic in game mode. Use desktop mode instead.
Videos do not work.
I tried Proton-GE, which made videos sort of work, but they were still not displayed correctly on the latest version.

The background video of the game launch and home menu is not displayed properly
There's a launcher window with a video setup option. You have to start the game using Steam+trackpad as cursor. If you select the video setup option you have to close the secondary window manually from SteamOs
