Trying to change texture and shadow to high instead of the default chosen by the game made my framerate drop to 20fps. It could be because of my hardware. Using the default of the game works without any problem

white screen on startup, as other have said before just change the workspace.
My recommendation is don't change proton version. In my case its changed it to a virtual desktop and wasn't able to access the game, just got a blank window. You can revert this by the deleting the id game's file on the compdata folder.
