Needs to force gamepad layout
Default gamepad layout is mouse (using trackpad), need to force it to gamepad manually. No other issues
For some reason the game haged indefinitley when i first tried to run it using the standard version of Proton. it started by forcing Proton Hotfix. Performance are just fine using defaoult settings (around 40 fps with medium settings and FSR 1.0 set on balanced) Should run even better when FSR2 is finally added
Works out of the box, around 30fps at low settings
Works just fine out of the box, the performance isn't great but still playable. I reccomend keeping the default settings: everything at low, FSR and frame generation on. On most demanding areas (for example, the very first fight) it often drops on the 20-25 fps area, but then it stays at a stedy 30-35, even reaching 40 fps sometimes. Overall still (surprisingly) playable and enjoyable on Steam Deck, even if the game is extremely demanding.
On Proton 7.0-2 and Experimental the game crashes on the second video while starting the game. Works well on Proton 6.3-8 Needs touchscreen to install UE4 prerequisites.
(Demo Version) Works Flawlessly
Works great. Didn't noticed any problem with the videos, maybe it was indirecly fixed by last Proton update
(Open Beta) Can't play online (EAC)
The game itself works fine and lets you play the tutorial without issues. But if you try to play online, you will be kicked out by EAC since it hasn't been enabled for Linux/Proton
Funziona perfettamente senza richiedere nessun particolare intervento
Great experience on Steam Deck
The tutorial refers to mouse and keyboard and can be a little confusing, but it's still playable and the default control mapping is perfect for the game
Crashes after registering the account
The game requieres an account refistration, this fan be done on the deck using touch/trackpads and the virtual keyboard. But sadly, crashes right after.
Also tried with Proton-GE 7.16 and editing the configuration file, nothing changed.
Works great out of the box
Runs at 30-40 fps on ultra settings and FSR 1.0 set to ultra quality (from game's settings), wich is pretty good for the Deck
Runs flawlessly out of the box
Game is running perfectly fine, even the small tutorial video box in the upgrade menu works as expected (i guess this was fixed recently)
Funziona perfettamente senza altre configurazioni aggiuntive
Works great on Steam Deck on last Proton Experimental (must still force Proton Experimental manually)
Forced to Proton Experimental, the video playback issue has been recently fixed and now it works pretty well. It has also quite good performances, runs at 60 fps at "high" settings
Works on steam deck on the standard Proton version, but with very poor performance (unplayable). Proton GE works fine.
(Demo Version) Woks fine. Not great performance, but still enjoyable
The game uses EasyAntiCheat, but i still had no peoblem connetting to the servers, at least on the demo version
As said on the title, it's possible to run the game using an old version of proton GE (7.55) Also, the anticheat has some problems with steam deck's game mode, so you'll have to play it in desktop mode. You'll probably have to use the touchscreen to get control of the game window, but other than that it runs fine.
Just Perfect
It even has a Vulkan mode just for Steam Deck. Runs under proton (not a Linux Native game), but it's still one of the game wich run better on the Deck.
Minor graphical artifacts, specially during videos
Works well on Steam Deck using Proton Experimental. On default settings (medium/high) runs at around 50fps
Minor graphical artifacts, specially during videos
Made it run on ArchLinux, AMD 5700XT. Screen freezes using the mesa version currently shipped on the main repositories, but runs fine using mesa-git (from AUR). Must use Proton Experimental (last versions of Proton-GE should be fine too)
The intro video is glitched on newer Proton version (playa perfectly on 6.3-8), but thevgame itself works without issues
Started steam adding the "-steamdeck" option
For some reason, i couldn't start the game on linux desktop as expected on a standard steam instance. But worked just fine after starting steam with the "-steamdeck" parameter.
Runs fine out of the box
Runs just fine. The default settings for syeam deck keep the game capped at 30fps at low settings, but it lets the user change them. Thanks to AMD FSR 2.0, it's possible to play at a reasonable framerate (around 30-40 fps) even on highest settings and FSR set to quality. But if you aim for an experience closer to 60 fps, you'll need to lower a bit the settings and swotch to a more performing FSR profile. Great experience overall.
Runs well. Needs to temporary change gamepad layout to be able to write the character name
On character creation, the X button is mapped to another action and the textbox loses focus when pressing steam+x to bring up the virtual keyboard. Needs to set another layout to be able to write.
Other than that, works great.
Don't ever try to enable FSR frame generation right now. Game crashes when trying to enable that option. Also, it remains saved in the save files and the game keeps crashing at startup. If it happens, i suggest you to diable steam's cloud save and delete the save folder.
FSR3 without frame generation seems working just fine
Even if frame generation doesn't seem to work right now, FSR3 upscaling offers a good quality boost. Everything else seems working fine
On Steam Deck, FRS3 even without frame generation offers a good eprformance boost, and the game is now able to run at 30 fps. i suggest you to keep the suggested settings (almost everything to low) and FSR balanced. Can still have some trouble in more intense scenes, but overall it's playable
Even if forcing Proton Experimental is still needed, now AMD FSR3 frame generation works just fine and doesn't make the game crash. It gives a great performance boost, and in areas without enemies the game can reach 50-55 fps with setting set to minumum. but it's not like a game running at that framerate natively. Also, it has frequent fps drops when fighting enemies. It's playable, but not a great experience on deck.
Works perfectly using Steam Deck virtual keyboard
Using the default controls is possible to navigate the menus using the trackpad and write using the virtual keyboard. The keyboard must be opened manually (steam button + x) A bit uncomfortable, but the game itself works perfectly.
(Demo Version) Works great with keyboard+mouse emulation
Controllers not supported, needs to set keyboard + mouse layout. Other than that, it works just fine.
Woks out of the box
Thanks to the last improvements in Proton, the game runs out of the box on Steam Deck. There's still a wierd glitch with the lights in some scenes and that's probably why the game is marked as "playable", but it's still a great experience on the Deck
By default the game uses a community layout, wich is well made but doesn't feature every single button. So, some tweaks are still needed for completing the tutorial.
Got fixed by last Proton Experimental update (needs to be forced), must use touchscreen for navigating the menu.
Works great out of the box
On the starting screen i had to touch the screen (other controls were not responding), other the that the game worked just fine. Since it's a rhitm game and 60 fps stable are almost mandatory, you'll probably have to lower the settings to medium-low and use FSR. But still enjoyable.
(Early Access Open Beta) Works Great
Anticheat (EAC) issue has been addressed, now the game works just fine on Steam Deck
Works out of the box (full release, 2024)
Online works great out of the box, EAC issues seems solved
Local multiplayers works without issues
I've seen many complaining about errors about EAC not working, but today, May 29th 2024, seems like it's solved. Work fine with standard Proton on both solo missions and online PVP.
Works out of the box, needs touchscreen on first run (full release 2024)

Touchscreen is needed on first run for installing the prerequisite libraries, but that's not really an issue at all
Poor performance, but still playable out of the box
Finally playable thanks to last Proton Experimental update
Needs touchscreen (mouse emulation) to install UE4 prerequisites on first launch
The game has gamepad support, but has still some problems in the menus
Last Proton Experimental update fixed the video playback issue, now the game is fully playable. Around 30 fps at medium quality
Finalmente giocabile grazie all'ultimo aggiornamento di Proton Experimental
The game works well even on standard proton, unless for the videos. This was fixed in last Proton Experimental build
Could not open the virtual keyboard, this is required on forst launch for writing the account name. As a workaround, i ran the game in desktop mode and set it on "Window" screen type on first run. Then, i just played normally on game mode and "fullscreen" screen type
Last Proton Experimental made easier to run the game on Steam Deck. Just force experimental, no further steps. Needs to use the touchpad on first run to install UE3 redists.
Needs trackpad, nice experience on Steam Deck
Runs fine, needs the trackpad on Steam Deck since it's a mouse-based game. Still a good experience on Steam Deck overall.
(Demo Version) Playable, but has not great peformance and very long loading times
Performance is acceptable, but not perfect. Around 30 fps at medium quality.
Forced Proton 6.3-8 and everything works fine. On Proton 7 the videos look glitched and distorted. Proton-GE had the same issue.
Forzando Proton 6.3-8 tutto funziona a dovere.
Works out of the box
Woks fine with default proton, performance are fine and online fully working
(Demo version) Game itself works fine with mouse and keyboard emulation, needs to tweak a bit the controls
Controls need tweaking, some keys are missing in the standard keyboard + mouse layout (example, the "space" key needed to stop time). Can still be enjoyable on Steam Deck.
(Demo Version) Native Linux game with both Vulkan and OpenGL rendering. Still needs somw tweaking for Steam Deck
Using the gamepad layout (wich is the default one) it's impossibile to navigate the menu without the touchscreen. The game also defaults to 1080p, it's better to set it at 720p on deck.
(Demo) Works nativley on linux, it also supports both Vulkan and OpenGL rendering. Still needs some tweaks to ve played on Steam Deck
Gamepad isn't supported on the demo, so it's currently needed to use mouse and keyboard emulation. There are also some community layouts already. Anyway, gamepad support should eventually be added in the full game.
Also, the game's resolution currently defaults to 1080p, so i suggest you to set it to 720p on the Deck.
On proton 7.0-4 cursor is visible but the screen is black. Works without issues on Proton Experimental
(Demo Version) Runs perfectly fine on the Steam Deck
Runs perfectly. Using the default settings (High) it runs at around 35-40 fps. Setting it to max settings (Very High) it struggles to reach 30 fps (around 25, with some stutteri g). Still perfectly fine for the Deck. Slight performance improvement using Proton-GE (tested version 31), but runs judt fine even with the default Proton
(Demo Version) Works just fine
There's a minior issue on the menu screen: it was probably designesd for higher resolutions and the icons for settings and exit game are a bit misplaced. Anyway, they still work fine. (Start for menu, select for exit)
Game itself runs perfectly
(Demo Version) Works fine using trackpads/touchscreen
No controller support, but works out of the box using the trackpad or touchscreen
The game works nativley on Linux, but also the Windows version under Proton works without any issue
Titolo nativo Linux, funziona perfettamente senza dover configurare nulla
Runs nativley on Linux, works without issues and it doesn't need any additional configuration
Great experience on Steam Deck
The options to disable fullscreen, change resolution, modify AA are all locked (cannot be altered in-game). ...But that's actually fine, since they are already fine for playing on the Steam Deck
The game runst at stable 60 fps on the Steam Deck. i saw many rviews complaing for stuttering, but i didn't experienced that.
Also, some reviewers noticed a wierd graphical glitch on level 1-4. This may be differend on your playtrough since the levels are randomly generated, but that's probably an intended feature: the game behaves on that way when there's a warp zone nearby.
Online play is very unstable on proton. I managed to play a match, but in many other cases i got kicked before being able to connect
Game runs usually fine (60 fps) at medium settings with FSR2 balanced, but i suggest to lower it for playing the campaing, because some stage are more demanding.
Online play is broken, most of the time it disconnects before being able to play
Works out of the box after last Proton Hotfix update
As many already reported, the last Proton Hotfix fixed online play, wich was broken on linux at day one. It's automatically used by default, so now it's working out of the box. Some people reported that it's needed a custom launch option to force the region, but in my case it assigned the right one (europe 1). I can't be sure if it isn't needed anymore or it's just because i played on windows before.
Playable, but has missing textures and artifacts
Some artifacts in the start menu, but nothing too serious. What's really a ptoblem is that the floor texture in Kastleton, the first city, is compleatly black. Might have the same problem in other parts of the gme, i didn't play fot too long. Game is still theorically playable.
Game runs well, there's an issue in video playback, but still playable
Game can be played on Steam Deck using trackpad as mouse and runs pretty well. There's a graphical issue in the main menu and in tooltip videos when selecting stuctures. It's probably the same video playback issue wich is currently worked on on the last Proton releases for many other games (looks the same)
I could normally join the lobby and see people online, i even saw someone in other zones. So, i guess the anticheat isn't giving problems, at least in the beta
Works perfectly by forcing proton hotfix (version 20230922-re4-dlc) Performance seems to be on-par with windows, online fully working (at least on beta)
there was an annoying red dot in the center of the screen, barely noticeable. wasn't visible in the menu, so i guess is a sort of crosshair. maybe it's intended, but i didn't saw that playing on desktop (even on linux) so i guess it was a bug
Online seems to work just fine, the anticheat didn't block me (at least on Open Beta)
using proton hotfix i was able to play normally. On low settings + FSR balanced i got around 40 fps in exploration, dropping to 30-35 in more action intensive combat. Still good enough for the Steam Deck. The game has full gamepad support.
Works on Steam Deck using keboard+mouse emulation. Performances not great, but playable
The game has no controller support right now, but it's possible to play anyway on Steam Deck using keboard and mouse emulation. I also created a custom layout, "Timemelters Simple Layout".
(Demo Version) Works surprinsignly well, the anticheat seems to work on Linux, at least on the demo version (or maybe it's just disabled)
Needs touchscreen on login screen (controller and trackpad are unresponsive), but then it works fine
Didn't tried to play with someone else, but i played until the first city, and i found other players around as expected
Needs touchscreen on login screen (controller and trackpad are unresponsive), but then it works fine. Controllers are supported, even if the interface isn't really desinged for them. you can switch from "action" to "cursor" mode pressing the start button. But i found touchscreen more comfortable. Performance are acceptable for the deck (30-40 fps at max settings) The game has an anticheat, it's possible to view it's loading screen at startup. But it seems like to work along well with Linux, at least on the demo.
The issues were fixed by last Proton Experimental update, so it's currently required to force it. Works Flawlessly with that version.
(Desktop Mode) Runs great even with EAC
The recent update added Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) from Epic Games. The version used by VRchat runs fine on Proton, so it shouldn't be an issue.
(Kickstarter demo) Works Flawlessly, had to change the control layout (defaults to mouse and keyboard emulation, changed to gamepad)
No problem with EAC after following the workaround, multioplayer works great
Some users fond a workaround to make the game playable on Linux. I followed this guide https://steamcommunity.com/app/1361210/discussions/0/6126609705336354111/
The deck plays it at around 20-30 FPS on medium settings, wich is actually quite good, considering that the beta has some performance issue on windows too, and also on high-end machines
Works fine out of the box, performance close to windows, loadings can be slow
Crashed once while playing online. but actually, server aren't very stable and sometimes happens even on windows, could be not linux-related
It took a while to cache shaders and load the game, but after that it worked great. Performance on AMD gpu is pretty close to the windows version, but the game doesn't seem to have any frame generation technology built-in, and you migh be have a better experience on windows using AMD's driver-level frame generation technology, or Lossless Scaling for Nvidia users.
Playing online works, but servers seems like to have some problem right now (today it's 07/09/2024 and game is currently in early access) not really a linux-related issue
Could not play online, was loading forever. can easly be a server issue (the game is having some server-side problem right now) and not being related to Steam Deck/Linux at all. (i played online on my destop pc on linux, so it shouldn't be any anticheat-related issue)
The game is set by default to low-medium settings and native AA, you'll probably want to set FSR to "balanced" or "performance". It can reach 30 fps in lobby, but it usually drops on actual gameplay. on default settings it can drop even to something like 15 fps, unplayble, while with FSR balanced/performance it could reach 20/25. Lowering other settings doesn't seem to change much, and the game seems more limited by the CPU than the GPU. It's still in the "playable" zone, but barely. I guess it can reach a reasonable performance using the "dlss enabler" mod (wich actually relies on FSR3)
Epic Games Store version under Heroic Game Launcher, had to use Wine-GE-Proton7-26, does not wirk eith Proton, but it's ok on Wine.
