Game would start up great, then the performance would tank into unplayable few FPS after some time into the first run.
Multiplayer works - no issues

Very good game and perfectly playable on linux :)

As title mentions. Initially played the game a bit single player and was 100% fine. When I tried to play with a friend via online co-op the game crashed and had connectivity issues. We both switched over to GE-Proton9-7 and the game was stable after that. I think we had about 3 hours of straight MP and never had an issue.
Crashed 3 times during a 2 hour multiplayer session

Game only runs in fullscreen (but Alt-Enter seems to work) and picking a smaller resolution only shows a smaller game screen sorrounded by black to fill the difference to your monitor resolution.
Worked out of the box with Proton 9.0

Creashed once on starting a multiplayer lobby, has been successful since then. I had the same multiplayer crash as mentioned in most other reports when the game launched. This seems to be (mostly) fixed now.
Multiplayer Crashes only

Still experience Dysphoric Video Stuttering or stopped in general, in main menu and end of game.
The dev's way of fullscreen with resolution is for the nicest way of saying it, Half Assed.
Even when me and my gf got into a functioning lobby and game, the input because of the sudden lag, made controller unbearable. Along with the fact that to this day, we still cannot remap controllers. As every controller third party or not, works dramatically different.
Multiplayer shredded my fps to like 9. While Singleplayer is still like 40-60. Unable to lower Graphical Settings, the settings do not exist.
Multiplayer Crashes all the time, but at least we got the island??????
While yes, I can get into lobby and get onto the island after alot of bashing my head into a wall. It still did not work and crashed after set sail and I had to change proton versions alot to see what works.
Via Parsec, It was managable to play the game but it was still a slog because the game did not want to work on Local either. It works most of the time, but when it doesn't it honestly Hurts the experience so much.
They promised Steam Deck Support, which in turn should also mean Linux/Proton Support in their new Fish and ships update. They have clearly not done so.

Horrid stuttering. Loading screens all take multiple minutes.
Experimental or GE. Don't use default.

Text is tiny and game seems to by poorly optimized. Unfortunately can't recommend playing it on Deck
Test is very tiny. Really hard to read.
Audio in opening movie is scuffed if TDP is set to lower than 60 FPS.
Minos but plenty stutters

A Typical person would not enjoy this on linux if this automatically ruins multiplayer for them off the bat.
Some loading times were kinda annoying and it felt off because the rest of the game runs flawless.
Starting game has some graphical vomit, and the menu video freezes, stutters, while the dlc fish walks so smoothly. It also effects the credits and makes it look dysphoric.
Steam Play is excellent, but doing this on linux just auto-crashes, when you join the game/and when you let someone join you. Unplayable and I would like to play with my gf but cant because we have linux.
Thank god for steam play and other programs for local lan emulation. The game is unplayable on steamdeck but they said, they'd be patching as part of their roadmap in september.
fps drops
Multiplayer does not work, crashes game
Crashes game when joining lobby
~40fps constantly, I get 60fps on windows (game is capped at 60)
crashed when joining a lobby, or friend joining my lobby
used steam remote play
crash or broken graphics with proton 7.0-6, 6.3-8, and GE7-55, I did not try any launch options to resolve these
Menu has a weird backdrop. Everything else works fine.
RTX3070 pumping 50-60FPS with dips.
The game crashes at the FIKA screen sometimes, I restart the game and it seems to allow me to go to the menu.
I can play online using remote play, but the multiplayer crashes on lobby
Controllers recommend, the keyboard is a bit weird.
The default proton will get you stuck on a black screen (probably the FIKA before the text appears).
With normal Proton the game gets stuck on a blackscreen. This seems to be because the game is expecting the company logo videos to play, and if they don't the game just stops. You can replicate the behaviour once the game is working by just renaming the logo mp4s.
Game crashes as soon as someone joins your lobby or you join someone else's lobby.
For a game that says it's co-operative the multiplayer side of things is a bit dyer. Slow lobby creation (even on Windows), desync issues, and the guest doesn't get any progression.
Won't launch without proton experimental
The game crashed when the co-op partner joined.
Like other players have commented here, the game crashes when joining or being joined by a friend in the online mode.
Single player works fine, steam remote play works fine, in-game multiplayer doesn't work at all.
Game crashes immediately when entering a lobby, or when player 2 joins your lobby

Game crashes as soon as someone joins the lobby.
Works with proton experimental immediately but Remote Play is the only way to play with friends.

Doesn't seem to work with the native proton Steam chooses (it just shows a blank screen with a cursor on it), but works if you use proton-experimental or GE-Proton.
Ran this on Flatpak version of Steam. Game had a black screen using Proton 7.0-4 and Proton-GE 7-35. Not sure why, but the game did not start at first while forcing Proton Experimental but worked after restarting Steam.

On proton 7.0-4 cursor is visible but the screen is black. Works without issues on Proton Experimental
