The game is playable. You can complete the game and get 100% achievements, but i recommend to turn on subtitles causing audio missing.
Missing audio in cut scenes. Tried all tips from others reports, but nothing helped. In the Proton logs i found that probably ffmpeg is responsible for that crashes, and log error recommends to upgrade ffmpeg (it didn't help for me).
If alt-tab/minimize cannot recover to fullscreen.
Once I had stuttering audio issue, simple restart and it's gone
Firstly: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Game works BUT physic is broken? It depends on FPS lol idk if it caused by Proton or not, but i had to restart game often to avoid game bugging.
Game doesn't respect primary monitor, keep switching to the 2nd (left), so I needed to move a window on every launch.
It works flawlessly. I had some crashes, but probably it wasn't Proton fault. Old proton version because I played this game 1.5y ago.
If fullscreen is enabled sometimes second monitor is frozen. Easy fix: you can just go to the game settings, disable fullscreen and enable again.
The game works well, but for this moment (2023 Jan) it contains a bug which doesn't allow to progress, but it isn't related with the Proton. More in the steam discussions.
It works. Some problems with resolution (not sure if it's game feature or Linux problem).
Fullscreen works perfectly, if you force it. In Ubuntum go to the settings->keyboard shortcuts and find 'Toggle fullscreen mode' -- for me alt+F11 works.
Wrong monitor on fullscreen, but it works well in windowed mode.
The game works with the Proton experimental (over 7.0). With default Proton version I had a black screen.
Steam overlay doesn't work (not sure if the game uses it)
To play this game, you need to remove `GUI3` directory from the `LEGO MARVEL's Avengers` dir before every launch.
The game crashes a few times, but it's probably unrelated to Proton.
100%. Everything works with Proton 5.0. On proton 4 i had more FPS, but it was causing some issues with bonus levels, so switched to 5.0.
With proton 4.0 there is a bug with bonus levels. Some objects disappear (ball, gate). With proton 5.0 everything works good.
It crashed once at year 6. Some stuttering but playable and enjoyable. 100% completed with Steam Controller.
Stuttering 120->30 fps every 5-10 seconds (i found that's "Nvidia problem"), disable option "shader cache cleanup" helped a little:
export __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1
one crash at beginning
Missing audio in cut scenes
alt + tab can cause problems with older Proton versions
About ~50-60 FPS, but dropping when moving mouse to ~5-10 FPS, but still playable (100%).
About ~50-60 FPS but dropping when moving mouse to ~5-10 FPS, but still playable
Some fps drops and little stuttering when load new puzzle, but it's probably caused by poorly optimized game (basing on steam reviews)
Some fps drop/stuttering
It works as devs made it (I mean it doesn't work with higher resolutions than 1920x1080, but it's probably not by Proton).
It randomly crashes i.e. if you click something in menu or in options. But it works good when you play (until you die, then it may crash). 100% achievement are possible.
Game captures cursor and focus window even if you alt-tabbed.
Steam overlay doesn't work. The game takes some time to launch.
I only managed to run it 2 times.
For the first time i was waiting about 2 minutes to launch and it crashed. 2nd time it worked, poorly but i could playing for about ~10 min then it crashed again (even got 1 achievement). After these i cannot run this game anymore. Tried different versions of proton, reinstalled etc. nothing works.
In reference to the last report, it works in the Proton 5.13. Completed and got 100% achievements. Screenshots (F12) not working by dev.
After a few years, I cannot launch the game with latest update
Tried with protontricks but no success
Changing to "windowed mode" with every relaunch. Not sure if it's caused by the game or the Proton.
Random audio stuttering (rarely)
Just maximized, but not a problem at all for this game
You can enjoy this game, but if you want to complete it on 100% you might not, but it's probably more caused by the game bugs, not the OS.
Game doesn't respect the primary monitor (right 3440x1440) and switching to secondary (left 1920x1080)
...
<myn:XResolution>1920</myn:XResolution>
<myn:YResolution>1440</myn:YResolution>
<myn:Refreshrate>0</myn:Refreshrate>
<myn:Fullscreen>false</myn:Fullscreen>
...
Changing above in currentUserSettings.xml fixed the issue for me, and game still starts in fullscreen mode.
In cutscenes, intros, and menus, sometimes there's texture flickering, but it's not a big problem.
I'm not sure, but the game contains a "dragging object" mechanic where, for me, it was very difficult to perform in few moments. I had to move the mouse very quickly across the entire mousepad to get it done. This could also be a game bug caused by the high resolution.
Sometimes crash on launching the game (only there).
Steam Controller doesn't work for me – not detected – tried to workaround the bug to get achievements – more in the steam discussions. Great game, but 'UX' and bugs are some of the worst from Daedalic.
Getting achievements, works ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Muting game in the menu doesn't work, but not sure is it a game bug or Proton problem.
Like in other reports. Needed to create player.ini file in game files location.
800 600 32 0 BaseCMO.cmo
Fullscreen not works. Only 800x600 window.
Few random crashes.
7.0-6
Once you alt-tab and want to return game window, it causes an alt-tab loop. You have to click in the game window fast, or it will crash.
1 random crash in the middle of a playtrough (not sure if it's related to Proton)
It works very well (100% achievements and 2 playthrough on casual and hard).
The games is little laggy when load scenes and with speedrunning can cause some graphical glitches, but it's not probably Proton fault.
There is microstuttering at 3440x1440 resolution. FPS drops occur even though Steam shows a stable 60-120 FPS. I'm not sure if this is a Proton issue or a problem with the game itself, but it’s not significant enough to prevent playing and enjoying the game.
Works with Proton without any problems
Linux native version has completely broken achievements. Using Proton, it works as should.
Cut scenes audio is missing. Use launch options:
SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30
If you have cracking/popping sound, try to change second value to for example 20 or 40.
Cannot restore full screen after alt-tab
One crash on exit, but nothing important.
Starts on wrong monitor, but it's no problem at all. Changing one-time to windowed mode, moving to primary and fullscreen again (keeps it).
The game doesn't remember saved full screen setting. Every launch it's need to be changed. It's common for the Artifex games.
A little stuttering sometimes, but it doesn't break the game at all.
If you want to load choices from S2, you need to copy manually save as pointed in below reports.
Sometimes FPS drop, but opening the menu (esc) helps to stabilze the FPSes.
It could be caused by next gen patch, not the Proton
Same as above (It could be caused by next gen patch, not the Proton)
Game "works" as should (to get achievement, look into guides at the steam community).
Need to change to full screen in the settings on every launch of the game
