It works very well (100% achievements and 2 playthrough on casual and hard).
The games is little laggy when load scenes and with speedrunning can cause some graphical glitches, but it's not probably Proton fault.

Since Proton 4.2-3, the game works out of the box. Finished the game after 15h.
It played without modifications, and I was able to play it through. Switching window with alt+tab did break it unfortunately (on Gnome/x11). Even then autosave worked, and once I killed the process and restarted I was back with no progress lost. I did encounter a couple of glitches with character sprites appearing/disappearing for a second when they shouldn't. This only happened 3 times (all before or after an animation), and didn't break anything. It seem more like a game bug than an issue with Proton.
Switched to windowed since I had problems with tabbing out of full screen. When tabbing out, I got stuck on a black screen and could do nothing. Had to connect through ssh and kill the game. But it works perfectly in windowed mode.
I can confirm that the configurator tool doesn't work. Since it is only useful when the game doesn't work at all. I just is a graphical editor for the config.ini file. All settings can also be configured in-game.
