Game works absolutely flawlessly. Runs a lot better than compared to Windows. It doesn't even stutter anymore.
WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 gamemoderun strangle 144 DXVK_ASYNC=1
Currently the game cannot save your video config. That means that you are pretty much forced to use White theme for the time being. Hopefully this gets fixed soon
Great experience out of the box. Requires "WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1" command to get video playback to work. Everything else works absolutely fine, there is no stutters, game doesn't crash on alt tabbing and it has smooth mouse input.
I enabled gamescope to upscale the game from it's default 1024x768 to 1440x1080 using FSR. It just makes it look a bit better. Other than that, game runs flawlessly
Works just like original Alien Shooter. I just enabled gamescope in order to upscale game from 1024x768 to 1440x1080 using FSR, it makes it look better. Other than that, it works flawlessly
Works and runs just as expected. Performance is even better on Linux than it is on Windows.
strangle 72 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command% -dev +fps_max 0
Multiplayer works perfect. No issues or slowdowns.
This is the game that made me finally switch to Linux. Game runs as expected and it has higher 1% low fps than Windows. Linux was the complete winner here in terms of overall smoothness and enjoyability. I use "strangle 72" because that's the framerate I have 99% of the time which makes the game a lot more smoother and "DXVK_ASYNC=1" to remove the stutters.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
I used Protontricks to download dotnet472 vcrun2022 d3dcompiler_47 corefonts
After installing that, I downloaded Content Manager and placed it into main game folder, and then I renamed it to AssettoCorsa.exe . After I did that Steam started booting up ContentManager instead of original launcher
Content Manager launcher is a bit buggy, but it's alright
Hosted a server for friends, works fine
This game requires some tinkering, but nothing special. Runs way better than it does on Windows. Maxed out game graphics and I'm getting between 350-500fps depending on where I am, and what type of map I'm playing. Overall I'm very happy with how it runs. Modded tracks and cars also run good, Custom Shader Patch is also working without any issues.
Added "dwrite" inside libraries tab on winecfg
Content Manager is being buggy / glitchy. It can be fixed by disabling hardware acceleration
Multiplayer works awesome. I joined a 32 player lobby on Nürburgring, game worked smooth as butter, no stutters or internet lags.
I made a YouTube video to cover installation and setup of Assetto Corsa on Linux, hopefully it helps some of you guys. Install guide by me
gamemoderun strangle 143 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1
Tried multiplayer on 1 server, it works fine.
This is probably the best COD2 experience I had so far. I completed this game very well over 6-7 times, but the experience I had on linux was the best.
gamemoderun mangohud
I added a keybind to disable DOF. Since game has a bug that constantly resets this option. This is just a game bug in general, nothing related to Proton.
When you alt tab out of the game, audio source dissapears, this makes it hard to capture the game with "PipeWire Application Audio Capture" plugin on OBS, that's not really a problem if you are just playing the game since audio works normally otherwise.
Game works smooth as butter. I did not really experience any stutters since DXVK 2.1 release. I'm using GE-Proton out of the habit and it works pretty good with this game. Maxed out settings are almost maxing out my 8GB of VRAM, but game remains pretty smooth throughout the mission. Definitely recommend everyone to try this game out, it's great.
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 MANGOHUD=1 %command% +com_showLoadingScreen 0
Game runs fine on maximum settings. It takes around 7.5-7.8gb of VRAM depending on the scene. If you lower settings from Ultra to Very High VRAM usage gets almost halfed and stays that way pretty much. Game runs smooth without any stutters. Very enjoyable experience. I completed the game twice and had no bugs or visual glitches.
GameMode ON
Runner: Wine-GE-8-22
I installed CLEO, SilentPatch and FramerateVigilante to have better overall experience
- Launcher: Lutris
- Runner: Wine-GE-8-24
Completed the entire game without a single problem.
-w 1920 -h 1080
Game sometimes freezes when I want to quit, so I have to terminate it. I'm not sure if this is only Native build bug. I did not try Proton version.
Game runs very good on my hardware, running low settings at 1080p gets me anything between 75 and 100fps, very enjoyable experience. I hope it's going to work as good with the new engine update that's about to come out.
It used to work fine, now it's borked
gamemoderun mangohud
Installed every vcrun to try running the game
Older Beta version runs fine but doesn't have Online leaderboards. Current version after anti cheat removal was workin fine, but now it always gives me error about missing Visual C++ . I used Protontricks to get all of them installed and yet the game still won't run. Same error occurs on Proton 8.0.1, GE-Proton7-55 and Proton Experimental. I'll play around with it more and see if I can fix it, or it fixes itself eventually.
Installed "vcrun2022" with Protontricks
Works smooth as butter. Once compositor is disabled there is no input lag at all. I didn't encounter any stutters or problems even without launch commands.
Everything runs like it should. Works the same way it does on Windows, except on Linux there is slightly less input lag which makes my aim more precise (Running X11 without compositing). Really enjoyable experience.
I used "Online-Fix" version of the game, it requires some minor tinkering, but works awesome. Steam version works out of the box
I used Protontricks to change some DLL types:
- OnlineFix64 = Native
- SteamOverlay64 = Native
- winmm = Native/Builtin
- dnet = Native
- steam_api64 = Native
Multiplayer works exactly like it's supposed to
So far I didn't notice any problems with the game, everything runs as intended

Installed D8VK to convert DX8 to DXVK
Works perfectly fine even without tinkering. Overall enjoyable experience. I strongly recommend installing D8VK to make the game overall more smooth, plus it's going to run better.
Gamemode (ON) , MangoHud (ON) , FPS Limit (60)
Installed "vcrun2019" and "dotnet48" with Winetricks
Runs smooth at 60fps lock with High settings on my specs. Overall a great game. I used "Lutris-GE-Proton8-7" runner.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Game is running smooth, didn't notice any fps drops in particular, runs at high settings perfectly fine.
gamemoderun mangohud
With Mesa 23.2 Devel drivers, stutters are a thing of past. I transferred save file from Windows and finished the rest of the game. It ran smoothly with 144fps cap on max settings.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
- I made "user.cfg" file in game directory to disable DOF and increase default fps limiter from the game because it causes micro stutters.
PostProcess.ForceDofEnable 0
GameTime.MaxVariableFPS 300
- After that I limited fps with MangoHud to 72 and it was butter smooth framegraph and gameplay.
Game runs pretty good on Ultra settings. Managed to complete the game and it was a blast. There is few things I would like to mention:
- Make sure to run the game with Proton8 or older, for some reason the game crashes with Proton9
- EA Launcher will sometimes just crash or not load the game, in that case just restart the game
Newer Proton versions cause insane stuttering and low performance in this game. I went back to GE-Proton7-55 and the game works great. I also noticed MangoHud causes rather weird lags within the game, so for the time being I'm using DXVK Hud to monitor the framerate. Other than that the game runs pretty good with current setup
gamemoderun DXVK_FRAME_RATE=72 LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope -w 1600 -h 900 -W 1920 -H 1080 -F fsr -f --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
This game has some issue with MangoHud, it causes major stutters. Avoid using MangoHud if possible. Newer Proton versions also cause a lot of stutters and bad performance, and I'm not sure why that's happening. However with GE-Proton7-55 game runs butter smooth. I'm using gamescope to upscale the game for a slightly better performance, and I have 72fps cap since I get that always. Overall very enjoyable game, already put over 100hrs and not a single problem.
I used GOG version of the game because friends don't wanna get the game on Steam. Works just like native.
Gamemode (ON)
dotnet48 vcrun2019
Multiplayer works fine. I'm hosting server for friends and no one has issues.
I used Lutris to install the game and play it with the boys. It works flawlessly. I have the game on Steam and it also runs perfectly.
gamemoderun %command%
Game runs as expected. Didn't occur any bugs, glitches or crashes in 5 hours of gameplay. Running HD version with 60fps lock in game.
gamemoderun
Game works smooth at locked 60 fps. I completed the entire game without a single bug encountered. Ever since Mesa 23.1 shader stuttering is also a thing of the past. Flawless and smooth experience.
Gamemode (ON), Mangohud (ON)
dotnet48 vcrun2019
Game runs just as I would expect it. It's running medium-high settings at 1080p without any issues. For the most part it's locked 60fps, only sometimes it drops to 50-55 when using scopes on snipers. But game is playable and definitely enjoyable. Launcher is "Lutris-GE-Proton8-7"
gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Game works pretty good considering my hardware. I lowered resolution to 1664x936 and used FSR provided with GE-Proton since I didn't like in game FSR implementation. Game runs at decent 70-90fps with medium-high settings. I just played the beggining part, didn't go any further. Demo version.
gamemoderun mangohud
Game would not go fullscreen properly with GE-Proton8, so I switched to GE-Proton7 and it started working fine. It could also be just a Wayland issue
Particles during fights would sometimes cut fps in half.
At High settings it ran at nice 120fps lock, but when fight started particles pretty much dropped frames all the way down to 70-80. Not sure if that's normal, but still, very playable overall (For a DEMO).
gamemoderun strangle 143 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Game runs at locked 143fps all the time and it plays much better with DXVK then it does with DX9 on Windows.
Works great out of the box. You can use "dgvoodoo" if you want Mangohud overlay and better performance
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8=n" gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_only,fps_limit=60,font_size=16 %command%
I added "dgvoodoo" to convert the game from D3D8 to something i can use with DXVK. This gives you more fps.
Game works fine out of the box but limits fps to your refresh rate. Adding "dgvoodoo" removes fps cap and increases fps further, but it's optional, game works great as it is even without it.
gamemoderun strangle 72 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Finished campaign in COOP without a single problem.
Game works perfectly fine out of the box. I use "strangle 72" to limit my fps and "DXVK_ASYNC=1" to make my overall gameplay smoother. I play the game at maxed out settings and it rarely goes below 60fps (and that's only In very big cities or demanding scenery). Overall very enjoyable experience.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Decided to give this game a try. It works pretty good without stutters, however, forced TAA anti aliasing is awful. Game looks like a blurry mess. This is not a Linux problem, since it also happens on Windows. But the game works fine.
gamemoderun mangohud

Anticheat kicks you out of multiplayer. Singleplayer works perfect
Game runs fine at high settings. I didn't notice any bugs or graphical issues. FPS is fine given my hardware.
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl gamemoderun mangohud
Works smooth as butter. Game was maxed out for the most part, running at capped 120fps. I limited fps because I prefer smooth frame times. Overall gameplay was good and responsive. Game plays out very well. Pretty enjoyable experience overall.
gamemoderun strangle 143 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
When Warframe updater first launched it was complete blackscreen. Disabling "Launcher GPU acceleration" fixed the problem.
Game works as expected.
After updating the game and launching I maxed out all the settings and played a few missions. I had stutters for first 2 minutes of gameplay and after that they never happened again. "DXVK_ASYNC=1" helped greatly in reducing stutters. Performance is honestly better then expected and that made the game more enjoyable.
Works pretty much like it does on Windows
Runs just as expected. Using DXVK instead of "experimental" vulkan in game renderer. I'm getting stable 144 fps in most areas. Everything works as it should.
