Tried all versions of proton (experimental, hotfix, and GE)
Sometimes an enemy's limb would be invisible, the environment would randomly disappear, or the lighting would freak out.
The game would hang and freeze once I got to the village each time, forcing me to quit the game.
Proton hotfix seemed to work the best out of all the versions, I was able to complete the demo a single time without hanging using hotfix.
works out of the box, but performance is worse than it should be on my hardware
the game hardly ever goes over 30 FPS, even on "performance" settings - usually 15-25 FPS with a few sudden, short drops into the single digits here and there - all this while my CPU utilization does not go over 50%, GPU does not go over 50%, RAM and vRAM only 50% and my GPU and CPU FANs don't even need to ramp up.
After Steam Deck update (15/03/23) works fine on default (35-41fps). Changing some graphic options like in the previous games would do good.
40-45hz framerate + TDP cap 9 (settings from RE2)
You've got a mouse cursor in the middle of the screen the whole time.
Eventual fps drops to 15-20fps before cutscenes.
The demo could use some love and fixing the cursor would be a great deal. Except the eventual frame drops - works fine.
Frequent crashes and freezes. Some textures fail to render properly after some time, specially if the game is left sitting on the same scene
Switching to Proton hotfix-09032023 seemed to fix the audio and some freezes at first, vertices on the menu screen dont poke outside anymore, but after a couple of minutes the game still crashes making the game basically unplayable.
gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Game works pretty good considering my hardware. I lowered resolution to 1664x936 and used FSR provided with GE-Proton since I didn't like in game FSR implementation. Game runs at decent 70-90fps with medium-high settings. I just played the beggining part, didn't go any further. Demo version.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV gamemoderun %command%
some flickering and weirdness with the text again solved by using RADV
Ran at aroun 15fps without forcing RADV in launch options (GPU not being utilised)
initially it may launch windowed and slightly offscreen, can drag window and set options though so not a problem.
