Shader compilation stutters
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 %command%
Crashes randomly, the error message says something about some missing directX files. Could not find a solution.
It runs with all of the nvidia gameworks only if you put these launch options.
The technical problems are quite annoying with the native linux version, but not gamebreaking
Textures taking long to properly load or not loading at all
Frequent fps drops
I did not try the Proton/Windows version
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 PROTON_CONFIG=dxr11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
It runs with a slightly lower framerate than on windows
These launch options are required in order to use DLSS and Raytracing.
Highly recommend using mods to improve vehicle handling
-dx11
Videos in the in game shop did not function correctly. Also while browsing the shop the performance of the game drops significantly.
Proton-GE fixes the video playback problem, but also breaks GI in certain places.
Also i played exclusively on DX11 for better performance. Results may differ in DX12.
Occasional stutters
Cannot go above 1080p Resolution natively
Use this mod if you want arbitrary resolutions: MGROverride https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearrisingrevengeance/mods/1
Steam runs the native linux version by default
The launcher claims that my linux distro is incompatible, but it runs just fine.
Heavy flickering on trees, plants and their shadows.
Whenever you change anything in the settings the game drops to around 5 fps permanently, needing a restart. Also it performs noticeably worse than on windows under usual circumstances.
The constant flickering is awful, and having to restart the game every time you touch the settings make it a nightmare to find the right ones for your pc.
Game crashes when you try to take a screenshot, preventing you from completing some side missions.
Had to use the DX11 beta to have good performance. In DX12 it runs about 30% slower.
The game warns about corrupted save files
Its not clear what triggers the crashes
Shader compilation stutters for up to a second
Takes a while to boot the first time

If the PC suspends due to inactivity, when you resume playing the performance drops to half. Forcing you to restart the game.
The performance of the linux native version is significantly worse than using proton.
Heavy stuttering, probably shader compilation related.
Not sure what triggers the crashes. But when you have 40+ minutes missions, you really don't want to lose all your progress to something like that.
If the stutters are too heavy an you're the host of the mission, it might lead to a host migration for your teammates.
If you're not the host, it will just kick you off the mission and back to your ship.
It will take quite a few hours of play for the game to compile the shaders necessary to run smoothly on most maps. Wich still leaves the crashes to deal with.
Some cutscenes play the wrong audio file, from a different cutscene. Only happens on FMV cutscenes and the subtitles play fine so you don't miss the plot.
gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -W 2560 -H 1440 -U -f %command%
I used gamescope to upscale with FSR from 1080p to 1440p. It's NOT required to run the game.
