Cutscenes would play wrong audio, fixed using last version of ProtonGE.
Game would crash on Alt-Tab, changing to borderless mode solved the issue.

Даже не пытался запускать через обычный протон, начитавшись отзывов ниже про некорректные дорожки в роликах. С GE работало всё как часы, за 50+ часов геймплея с сессиями по 4-8 часов проблем не выявлено вообще никаких.

Game could only handle 1 Alt-Tab, after which it maximized into a 800x600 square and became unplayable
Slower load times than Windows
The audo issues reported by previous contributors have been fixed both in latest Experimental and GE. Experimental does give slightly slower load times than GE, which is the primary reason to use it, as the loading times in this one suffer slightly under Linux. The issues still present are minor enough to still enjoy the game with next to no discomfort, especially if you are a handheld player

Caught a turtle, soft locked the game and had to reload.
Initally played the game with the Steam Recommended version of proton and the wrong audio played during a cutscene a couple of times. This did not occur again after I switched to GE Proton.

Cutscene videos would sometimes play the wrong audio, or have no audio at all. Same behavior on latest proton GE at time of writing as well.
If you catch a turtle while fishing as Haruka the game crashes
The game works well enough, but the wrong audio playing can be distracting. Subtitles make it workable though to get the story, I don't speak japanese so the audio isn't the absolute most important thing to me at least. Many cutscenes do work, it's a mixed bag.

Previously, I found some success protontricks-ing the Media Foundation DLL into Proton 5.13, but that still had some major stability issues as well as the cutscene audio issue reported here by several other users. Playable, but not perfect. No more!
GloriousEggroll comes in to save this game from being unstable and having audio issues with cutscenes. No more random freezes and crashes, and all the cutscenes finally play their correct audio tracks! Absolute perfection. Huzzah!
The game might have bugs when alt tabbing.

gamescope -e --expose-wayland --adaptive-sync -- gamemoderun mangohud %command%
The default input configuration isn't mapped properly
The game took a long time to load
Since the game is recommended to be played using gamepad, I have to downvote playing out of the box because it's not mapped properly in my case

Some minor visible artifacts at start menu
Works out of the box with GE-Proton9-20. I've tested with default Proton 9.0.3 and found audio issues with cutscenes, such as wrong audio being played
Some audios are played when they shoudn't and some voices are missing.

Without ProtonGE, there's a weird issue where cutscenes may load the wrong audio.

DOES NOT WORK WITH GE-PROTON9-10
works perfectly fine with 9-9 tho

GE Proton 8-25 works great, however. And unlike the Steam Deck default Proton, actually plays the correct cutscene audio.

FMVs go gradually out of sync
FMVs have frequent artifacting
Installed "Yakuza 5 Licensed Music Video and Uncensor Restoration Patch". Finished the game mostly without issues, although prerendered cutscenes have annoying artifacting and audio sync issues. Haven't checked if the issues are related to the mod.

Sometimes on Ultra settings I got small stutters when walking in cities. Switched to High and the problem was gone.
The cutscene bug is fixed when using GE-Proton8-24 or later. Everything else worked OOTB. Gameplay was smooth, I managed to enjoy some minigames and side content (Premium Adventure) on my Desktop PC running fresh install of Fedora 40.

Game had some issues with playing wrong audio track during cutsecnes, otherwise it worked fine. After switching to GE-Proton8-25 everything started to work flawlessly, the bug was fixed. Gameplay was smooth, I managed to go through the whole game on Steam Deck. My graphics preset was set to "Ultra" and with that I expreienced about 2 hours of gameplay on battery.
Game keeps crashing around Part 2 Chapter 4

Proton 9.00 (beta)
Remastered mod, dark mode for startup, 4k font, crying eyes fix, Dragon Heat supressor, Fixed taxi cut in, RyuUI5
Watts changed to 7%
When pre-rendered cutscenes artifact, the audio falls behind
Wrong models for certain scenarios (shinada in his baseball outfit by default and the final battle stage being bloody rather than the clean variant used in the final fight) and the Colleseum's standing audience members are missing their legs
Overall, in spite of it's issues, I'd still play this as the gameplay is still relatively functional

Installed Licensed Music Restoration Patch and Highres Patch.
After playing over 30 hours I did not experience a single crash or bug. Works like a native game. I used proton-ge from the start so I had no issues with cutscene audio.

After installing via heroic owning it on gog it crashes when launching. I added it to Lutris and used wine ge then added the lutris entry to steam so I can run it in game mode. After that it is smooth sailing. Make sure to have current wine ge for the fixes.(I used wine ge 8-25)

Works great but needs some fixes only in the latest GE-Proton version.

Works perfectly at 60 FPS at high settings. Proton GE needed for correct cutscenes to work.
Without the latest proton GE, some cutscenes will have wrong audio and end early. Needed as it's such a story-intensive game

Introduced in GE-Proton8-24, a patch was added to fix hashing collisions with different audio. Seems to have fixed majority if not all the audio cutscenes.

Latest Proton-GE introduced a patch for the Y5 cutscene audio bug; game seems to work perfectly now.
Hash collision bug caused the cutscenes to play the wrong audio. You could watch them on YouTube, but imo having to do such a thing drastically reduces immersion/enjoyment.
Thankfully, the latest version of Proton GE (8-25 as of writing) introduced a patch to fix said bug. I've only played through chapter 1 (so far), but all the cutscenes have had proper audio. I'm yet to see if Shinada's outfit bug is fixed, but it's likely.

Shadow settings low, texture settings ultra, 16x texture filtering to retain visual fidelity. 30 FPS cap.
Cutscene audio is sometimes swapped.
Shinada is wearing his baseball outfit instead of his regular one.
Plays perfectly fine.

On some characters there is a small black flickering.
Some of FMV cutscenes played wrong audio.
I was able to fix FMV cutscenes playing wrong audio by moving my installation from SSD that's using LVM to HDD using btrfs.

Some in-game cinematic cutscenes are played with the audio track for a different cutscene. FMV cutscenes contain artefacts.
Some in-game cinematics play with the wrong audio track
FMV cutscenes contain artefacting
The audio swapping issue for cutscenes is unfortunately still not solved. Tested using GE-Proton8-3, 8-6 and 8-11 since prior reports indicating that the audio issues were resolved reported using 8-3 and 8-6, and 8-11 was the latest available version at the time of writing.
Pre-rendered cutscenes have compression artefacting, most noticeable when a lot of visual changes occur between frames. It's noticeable, but it doesn't make the scenes unintelligable.
The game doesn't crash due to video codecs anymore, and the cutscene audio does not go out of sync anymore either, so the problems have been reduced to occasional cutscenes playing the wrong audio.
Outside of cutscene issues the game runs at a fluid 60FPS with all graphical settings maxed out. I can recommend this for people who started this series on SD and want to or have to finish it on Deck for whatever reason, when watching cutscenes on youtube is an acceptable workaround. For anyone else I would recommend playing it on literally any other system or OS.
Kinda torn between thumbs up and thumbs down, since personally I find the state it runs in acceptable enough to play (and honestly the remaining problems are quite minor and completely absent during hands-on-controller gameplay), but I can't comfortably say the game runs without issue.

Installing Media Foundations did not help with the cutscene bug
Cutscenes play the wrong audio, sometimes causing the cutscene to end early
Cutscenes that did not have the audio bug had artifacting instead
Several different proton versions were tested, none fixed the audio bug

Some cutscenes play the wrong audio file, from a different cutscene. Only happens on FMV cutscenes and the subtitles play fine so you don't miss the plot.

still have to finish the game but with proton GE 8.6 no more sound problems in the cinematics on SteamDeck.
Playable

GE 8-3 doesn't completely fix the cutscene audio issues as previously reported, the problem re-emerged with the end cutscenes of chapter 1 and beginning cutscenes of chapter 2.
With GE-Proton8-3 we finally have synced audio with the video cutscenes. Everything else works too, although alt-tabbing from both botherless and full screen is still very wonky. Other than that, you can finally play this as intended on Linux.
Cutscene audio was sometimes wrong
The last playable character was wearing the wrong outfit
I didn't really try any of the mini games so I'm not sure if those work well. Other than the issues I listed, this is probably one of my favorites in the series.
Game runs well, but as others have noted; many cutscenes are nearly unwatchable due to audio issues.
Certain in-game cutscenes have de-synced or incorrect audio
Video artifacting
Some Cutscence still have wrong audio, which cause them to end prematurely.
Cutscenes have the wrong audio.
The game mostly works. But cutscenes still have the wrong audio + another pretty major bug.
Some cutscenes play the audio from another cutscene.
Minor artifacts in pre-rendered cutscenes. Doesn't affect all of them.
In Part 4 Shinada is wearing his baseball uniform instead of his normal outfit. Which you can't change into/out of until you complete the game.
Keep Youtube handy for the cutscenes if you still plan on playing through the game on Linux. I also haven't really found much on the internet about the Shinada outfit bug. So I hope I, or someone else finds a fix for it eventually.

some cut sences audio are not correct
The outfit of Shinada is not correct on steamdeck.
