Out of the box the gameplay runs at an extremely low framerate, and online its even worse. Launch options above fixed it, just replace whats in "" with your own gpu. May just be an issue with laptops or devices with integrated graphics and an actual gpu.

anda perfecto

gamescope -W width -H height -r refreshrate -- %command% # If running on Hyprland
Note that the game will always display in a 16:9 aspect ratio and is locked to 60 fps by design, but giving other aspect ratios/refresh rates to gamescope will work without issue
Also, mods work perfectly fine
Funciona perfeitamente.

Sometimes would become extremely slow for a bit or crash after switching from and back to GGST
Somewhat decreased FPS, particularly noticeable on low spec systems ofc
Also just fails to start up sometimes, in that case just close and reopen it.

Works perfectly out of the box

Funciona maravilhosamente bem!
Não é preciso fazer nada o jogo roda bem, o mais impressionante é que online funciona.

Was very determined to use my iGPU, which resulted in the window freezing everytime it was the active window
If you have a Multi-GPU computer like I do, (e.g. A Dedicated GPU and an Integrated GPU) it will only use the first GPU in that list. If that GPU is not the dGPU, then you will need to determine it's name using MESA_VK_DEVICE_SELECT=list vulkaninfo
and using the mentioned launch arguments, except replace my A770 with you cards name. DRI_PRIME
and other env variables do not work for this game, it will always default to the GPU that is first in the list.

Add friends+a couple drinks and kick the audio up to 11
Make sure your time is set and sync'ed up before going online!

Fun game and works perfectly on linux, including multiplayer.
Everything works, even online

Great Fighting Game On Linux
Has no stupid anticheat, has mods, great online, moddable, great game
Playing in tower has the same problems as Windows, Strive being Strive
Works flawlessly

Haven't noticed any issues. Runs great.
Game gets to the character select screen, but locks up after selecting a character.

Connecting over Ethernet or WiFi is flawless. The infamous "Communicating with server" takes a long time on first load, but may not be exclusive to Linux and may not be a Linux problem
Controller support works fine out of the box. Unique controllers and gamepads designed for fighting games have not been tested.
Use Proton-GE to fix colored screens on tutorial videos and character select.

Dualsense and Qanba Obsidian do not load Playstation icons.
Strive has occasional connection problems not related to Proton. Quitting to title or restarting the game fixes any problems.
Unverum mod loader can work on Proton 8.0-5 via Protontricks, but text mods are not usable. With vanilla game or manual mod installation, latest Proton still works fine.

Works out of the box with no issues. It's like if it was a native build.

It's install and play. Everything works exactly the same as it does on Windows. No performance difference also.
Plug and play, literally no problem or latency

Sometimes the game would stop responding when starting a match.
Matchmaking sometimes completely breaks and won't connect to any match. Restarting helps.
It works flawlessly

Experienced no issues with this game on proton experimental. Video Playback issues have been fixed

Initial connection to the servers took 20-30 seconds, which is normal.
After installation, the intro movie and movies that play while looking up your character's move set only showed a black screen. Enabling GE-Proton9-4 fixed this issue.

No problems finding my controllers

Jogo roda liso com tudo no padrão usando proton
Jogo roda liso com tudo no padrão usando proton, só tive problemas com áudio

Slow motion should've stayed in training mode.
Game runs in slow motion.
Global issue plagues local multiplayer. Online not attempted.

-dx12 -NOTEXTURESTREAMING
Changed left joystick to DPAD, changed diagonal overlap
Beware your graphics settings - if you're noticing high Rollback Frame numbers at low ping, it means your machine (or your opponents) isn't maintaining consistent frametimes. Frame Limiter may help.
Also, if you're noticing matches failing to connect often and have modified/tinkered with the desktop, check your time synchronization. It may be worth installing chronyd or similar, as a desynced clock will prevent matches from connecting.
(This may depend on the Proton version, mine was Proton 9.0 (beta), YMMV)
-dx12
does make the game use DX12 (checked with DXVK_HUD), and improves GPU usage by over 20% on some stages
-vulkan
does not work (they haven't included a vulkan shader cache)
Unsure if -NOTEXTURESTREAMING
impacts performance in any meaningful way.

Just install and play
Selection screen missing background (probbably a missing render target or something like that) shows a color test screen
Any issues I have found appeared on a windows machine, so it's probabbly just a game issue more than a proton issue.
- Long load times in multiplayer
- Commmunication with servers on main menu is quite slow (maybe a ping/latency test?)

I believe this has to do with how online works, but some matches are a little "laggy", feels like its running at lower framerates ( mangohud reports stable 60fps )
Sometimes it takes some time to connect to servers, maybe its GG's fault and not Proton's
Local mp works flawlessly

Works OOTB w/o issue
Worked comparably to Windows.
Tested using both keyboard and arcade stick, online and offline, with no issue. Great fighting game and very glad it works as well as it does on Linux.

Fun game, no issues, no lag, was able to play online, with good frames
got online, got rated, and had some fun games the online park. No issues, no lag, no stuttering, just plain ol fun.
That's all thanks! Great game

Nvidia users should ignore Wayland, alot of ghosting, amd users will be fine. So nvidia users as of January 2024 stick with x11. You will be gucci!

Works Out Of The Box With Proton Experimental and Proton-GE 8-27 Without Any Bugs Or Perfomance Issues.
recommended changes :
step 1 - go to path/to/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1384160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/GGST/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/Engine.ini
obs : the following option is based of your monitor resolution so if your monitor already have a big resolution this option maybe extremely heavy for your pc, you can change the value for better suit your pc specs (150 = 1.5x your monitor resolution, 200 = 2x your monitor resolution)
step - 2 put the following line in the end of the Engine.ini file for massive resolution quality boost. no more pixelated models :),
[ConsoleVariables] r.ScreenPercentage=200
matching making just works like windows. (for those who are not aware "Guilty Gear Strive" always have servers errors even on Windows so... in linux is just the way the game is)
Works Out Of The Box Without Any Issues
Jhonny Players Please Uninstall the game, Tkx <3

Maybe this is just a issue with this game, but I just can't ignore the online issues. The online basically never works
Online almost NEVER works the way it's supposed to. Each day it has a slightly different error on either the tower online, open park, or public rooms. Private rooms seem to consistently work fine, though. Absolutely horrendous.
EVERYTHING in this game works perfectly, but it's incredible how the user experience can be SO SO BAD. First thing, already does happen in every system, not only linux, but you have to connect to the servers to enter the MAIN MENU??? And it's not quick, it always, for me, takes AT LEAST 3 minutes. And my internet is not bad, I always get at least 160+ mb upload and download speeds, and delay is generally not higher than 5 ms. And then, for acessing ANY menu that has an online feature, even if you're NOT necessarily using it, it NEEDS TO CONNECT TO SERVERS AGAIN???? WHERE DID MY 3 MINUTES GO??? You CAN bypass the loading to get to the main menu by disabling the internet connection, but guess what, even if you connect again in the main menu, it most likely won't work out if you try to connect to online. You'll have to restart the game and go through the loading.
BUT WAIT! That's only THE BEGINNING of the horrible user experience here. If I try to enter any lobbies, be it tower (ranked) or open park (non-ranked) it almost ALWAYS will have a different issue each day. Generally what happens is, any time you try to enter on a station, you'll first time get a message saying "Couldn't obtain Duel information", and you'll be left in a connecting state in which you have to wait for the game to want to free you, because you'll be unable to do anything for some good minutes. GENERALLY after you try entering in a station AGAIN after getting this error it'll work... But only if it's quick enough, because the game automatically disconnects you after a few minutes (Generally around 10, doesn't pass 20)
But that's only the DEFAULT behavior, because during the first 3 or 4 days after I bought the game, every day I tried logging into this game, I got a different issue when trying to do something on online. I literally only could actually play ranked for 2 days or so.
I could be here all day ranting, but I think you got the idea.. This game's online is a sh*tshow.

Some maps dip to ~35 fps
Trying to join a battle against someone would sometimes hang for ~30 seconds until it timed out. This could only be fixed by restarting the game/Steam, which only had a chance to work. Other reports suggest adding ntp
/systemd-timesyncd
, but these did not have any effect.
