Mooty!

Wasn't able to launch with normal or GE Proton, Discussions mention needing a Google/Apple account and installing something called ACE
Don't think this will ever work and reading more about it, it wil probably not be missed
The game launches fine with cutscenes and all OOTB with no additional tinkering required, but terrible performance
More noticeably on regular Proton, but with GE it would also stutter quite a bit
I had a shader compile error when first launching on normal Proton but switching to GE8-11 seemingly made it go away. Then retrying normal Proton didn't show the error again.
I could leave the game on full-screen and then just needed to click once in the window to get it on the foreground (otherwise taskbar was visible, KDE Plasma), no issues here either.
The game is playable but the stutters upon loading a new area or such are really bad. I even turned down all the graphical settings to minimum but that didn't help at all.
GE-Proton required for the cinematics, everything else works OOTB
Game seems to fully work, videos now have audio but its delayed by about 1 second
Videos now on standard Proton but the audio drags by about 1 second. ProtonGE has no audio on videos at all.
Intro cut-scene requires GE-Proton, everything else seems to work fine
GE-Proton8-28 gave me the best results. Using no GE meant missing videos and a newer version of GE like 9-2 made the game crash during Trisha's introduction.
There seems to be a DoF issue with in-engine cutscenes (at least for me) where everything will be blurry in mid-range shots but close-up shots of characters are normal. Turning off Depth of Field in the settings fixed it for me.
Works perfectly, just be sure to force Proton, otherwise the game folder will be empty
Works great, I've finished about 90% of the overall content by now
The only minor problem I had was the Steam overlay being finnicky in Crush the Castle 2. If I opened the Steam overlay, the overlay would consist of the blank, full color squares of the overlay. A minor gripe and I'm not entirely sure it was the game's fault. During CtC1 and CtCA I never had this issue occur.
All in all: the games are at least fully playable.
Standard Proton ran the game just fine but the intro screen displaying the title (as a video file) won't be visible. Switching to GE-Proton fixes this.
Tried the demo, worked great with default proton
Supposedly it has a native version but I don't see anything about it on the store page for now and Proton works fine
Finished the demo (which is marked Windows only) and it ran perfectly all the way through
Worked flawlessly for many hours
It's been a while since I've played but my entire playtime has been on Linux for many hours and not once did I have a single problem.
Proton Experimental now shows the full intro and runs fine
After the first time starting the game and changing the resolution, the game now always starts in full screen black with a tiny resolution in the upper left corner. When I skip the intro, the splash screen will be full screen but may or may not freeze there. (Unsure if this is a Proton issue or a vanilla issue)
When I got a gun that could be used from a vehicle, the gun would suddenly start firing without me pushing the button. This behaviour would stop randomly if I opened the control settings and didn't change anything. (Unsure if this is a Proton issue or a vanilla issue)
I'm unsure if the issues I've been experiencing are related to Proton or me testing the vanilla Steam version without any alterations (due to mods leading to frequent crashes in the past for me) but there has been some definite progress
Everything works wonderfully OOTB
In regards to the latest review, I simply used the default Proton version and achievements worked
Heavy artifacting in certain area if using native version
A certain area in the Fungal region will give horrible artifacting
The native version worked pretty well overal but a certain Fungal area completely broke the game for me with its heavy artifacting. I switched over to Proton Experimental and it all worked fine from then on.
I think the game will run fine on normal Proton too, but the intro/main menu video will be missing
The game seems to be fully functional but will often crash when a gameplay tip appears on screen
The game would sometimes crash when a gameplay tip came up on screen
Retrying without GE would give me a main menu with the video missing test screen in 4:3 ratio and I can't see the menu options
Regular Proton would not display the opening video but considering this will be Deck verified on release, I assume this will not be a problem in the future. GE Proton makes the video work just fine anyway.
Apparently no need for any tinkering any more, works perfectly out of the box
Intro videos now work out of the box but sound effects are all over the place
Some sound effects would get stuck looping, others would disappear at all like the "ready, set, go" sound effects at the start of the race
I think it works a bit better than a few years ago, but this was a pretty hackneyed PC version to begin with in my opinion.
Seems to work great out of the box now
The only thing that didn't work correctly was my Steam overlay (for some reason). Every surface was just a unicolor rectangle, including my Friends List.
The game seemed to work fine on regular Proton but wouldn't show cut-scenes
Still not able to easily boot the game on Proton Experimental or GE
Tried out the demo, everything worked fine. Both dx11 and dx12 worked but I had better performance with dx11.
Tried the demo, everything seemed to be in working order
There was one relic (matrushka doll?) that didn't have a text explanation while the 3 others did have one, unsure whether it was a bug or intentional
Game worked on default Experimental Proton (without audio) but works with audio on Proton-7.0rc2-GE-1
Proton-7.0rc2-GE-1
Proton-7.0rc2-GE-1 fixes the audio out of the box.
You need to specify Dx11 at start-up, seemed to work the same as on Windows (based on the average reviews), intro video is a green screen
Launching with vanilla Proton means you won't see the Unreal Engine splash screen and the intro video will be a white screen
The demo seemingly booted fine, but I was greeted with a very unclear pop-up which GE-Proton didn't fix
The game will ask you to agree to terms it will not properly display (infinitely loading), even with GE-Proton. I'm going to ASSUME the game works fine beyond that point, but you are not allowed to start the game before accepting the terms which you cannot see.
I'm going to assume these involve the fact the game offers "in-game purchases" or some such drivel.
Regular Proton also worked but had no intro videos, GE 8.9 showed the intro videos and everything worked flawlessly
The game works fine on default Proton but videos won't play (test screen), this is fixed with GE Proton.
Seems to work fine for the most part
I didn't play much but the game crashed at the end of the Naked Terror chapter, right as I got the achievement
The game did crash at the end of chapter 2
Demo works perfectly out of the box, the slowdown during combat has been resolved though the video at the end of the demo heavily stutters
GE Proton was necessary for the tutorial videos that pop up. Without it the game would also run fine but the videos would be missing.
The game has now also been Steam Deck verified.
