Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: GE-Proton9-4

Was having significant hitching/stuttering issues on standard Proton in areas with water. Switching to Proton GE seems to have fixed completely.

Performance:Significant Performance Problems
  • massive frame drops in any screen with water, biggest issue was around water surface screens
  • disabling screen shake helped a little, other settings didn't do anything
  • changing proton versions didn't help either
  • unfortunately about a quarter to a third of the game has screens with this issue
