Minor text glitches.
Occasional slowdown during gameplay.
Launch parameters: thread_submit=true tearfree_discard=true vblank_mode=3
Works out of the box
1080p Medium. Any bugs I've encountered appear to be with the game itself but these are being patched by the developer.
used -changedir launch parameter to start the game
Did not play beyond the intro of the game. Will have to investigate if the stuttering is from the textures.
Used the following launch options per other reports: RADV_PERFTEST=aco PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nointro
Volume is low with the volume settings turned up to max. Had to adjust the volume knob on my speakers.
Some strobing banding
Lots of stuttering. This was also happening in Windows but I was using a card w/ only 1GB VRAM.
Setting the gamma slider has no effect.
Launch options: RADV_PERFTEST=aco PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nointro -ReadTexturePoolFromIni
Screen tearing on strobing effects. Recommend turning vertical sync on.
Some pauses when moving between areas in levels
-ReadTexturePoolFromIni helps with the stutters
Runs fine in OpenGL, will not start with Vulkan. Tried all the available Proton versions, added "+r_renderapi 1" launch parameter to no avail. Possibly need to add a Microsoft redistributable with protontricks.
Installed Wine from PopShop, updated mesa drivers through system update
Works fine out of the box in OpenGL. Only after I did the forementioned installs and used "+r_renderapi 1" was I able to run the game in Vulkan.
Works out of the box
Froze once while playing but otherwise stable.
Works OOTB w/ minor graphics issues
Occasional moire patterns on the characters
It probably works fine under Proton but I need to reconfigure controller bindings.
A bug has developed where the character will continuing firing after releasing the RT trigger. Using 8-Bit Do Ultimate 2.4G Wireless Controller.
It plays well if you have this version of the game.
Crashed maybe once or twice in my time playing it.
Works out of the box
DirectX 11 1080p tweaked high settings Textures at Very High Post-processing at Low
RADV_PERFTEST=aco
Enabling Transparency Anti-Alias will corrupt the player HUD. Leave this disabled.
Does not correctly detect controller on boot until button is pressed.
Alpha transparency bugs on Proton builds higher than 5.0 during character progression screens in Single Player Battles.
Some slowdown during the Scarecrow transistion scene
No audio after upgrading to Pop!_OS 22.04. Disappointing because I still enjoy playing this.

Played the DirectX 9 version. Some background movies behind the start menu showed colorbars but is not important to the game.
Great game w/ minor graphical glitches, at least w/ mesa
Mostly around flora and coast lines
Playable out of the box
Some noticeable frame rate drops but nothing severe.
If you've previously bought tables for PInball FX2, this is the better option until Pinball FX3 starts working.
-changedir launch parameter
slow performance during the plant selection screen
Works out of the box
Crashed once after I enabled vsync but worked after I tried booting it again.
You can only set graphics options in the launcher which is a pain. After you've set the graphics how you want it and played it once, use SKIPLAUNCHER in the Steam launch options.
Not all FMVs play with default Proton. The intro movies played but the first zombie encounter yielded colorbars.
Windows Media Player 11 is the main blocker here.
There is a guide for installing WMP11 w/ Protontricks but I've had no luck so far.
Proton-6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.10-GE-1
W/o Proton GE, game shows a blank screen w/ loading icon.
Native version doesn't always start. The workaround is to force Proton and then switch back to native. Windows version won't start with default Proton. Game will boot under Proton Experimental.
Runs great out of the box
The intro movie doesn't play as others have mentioned, but most people will skip over it after a while anyway.
