I can't tell if this is an issue on my end or the game, but as it stands, the random freezing and crashes prevents me from playing.
The game will start and run, but will randomly freeze after a few minutes, forcing me to kill the program.
Runs great on Wayland Linux!
Gamepad was recognised, but "A" and "B" buttons were not recognised. Required setting "Controls" to "Gamepad" in the launcher. If this setting doesn't appear, I've confirmed that the following config mod also works:
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/290300/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/my games/double damage games/rebelgalaxy/local_settings.txt:
<INTEGER>GAMEPAD:1
Wouldn't launch with default proton
works unless you want controller support. (steelseries and ps4 not working for me)
Controller(s) detected in menu but cannot click, no response in game. :(
really hope i can find a way to play with a controller!
You must use the touchscreen for the settings when starting the game. Runs flawlessly with gamepad like on PC
numactl -N 0 -l %command%
Fails to run out of the box on Threadripper, presumably also fails on other high thread count CPUs. Limiting to 16 threads with numactl fixed that. Fullscreen display is garbled, possibly an i3 issue, but windowed is fine.

Installed the game via HeroicGamesLauncher But it didn't work out. Through PortWINE, launch without problems.

Doesn't load config menu
Disabling ESYNC, VSYNC, DX9, 10, 11 doesn't work. Log shows that it can't find some threads it spawned, and it times out after 2 minutes of waiting.
Got to the second solar system without issues

Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Use GE Proton to make cutscenes/movies work. Game runs fine and I had no performance issues.
will attempt to tinker more with it at a later time.
frame rate stutters and stays in the sub 20's
Had to roll back to proton version 5.0-10 to even get the game running. And when I did the framerate was near unplayable.
Adjusting the volume in game via keyboard binds, and even attempting to bring up the steam overlay (shift+tab) causes the game to crash.
Works out of the box
Crashed once after I enabled vsync but worked after I tried booting it again.
You can only set graphics options in the launcher which is a pain. After you've set the graphics how you want it and played it once, use SKIPLAUNCHER in the Steam launch options.
Just had to fall back to Proton 5.13-6
Works fine if you want to play with mouse/keyboard.
I could not select in the settings launcher a controller. In game they dis not work therefore.
Works out of the box
ignore DirectX, use Opengl + VSync + Full widow + default setings (everything on high) and played the firdst mission without any issue.

Does Not Start
Steam will try to run the game after I press the "► Play" button. The "► Play" button switches to "x Stop" and after a few seconds switches back to "► Play." I have not tried to tinker with it yet.

Nope
DirectX9+ no VSync will bring you to menu. Can't get past menu

Crashes as soon as press new game
Changing settings in initial config popup has no effect on result

VSync crashes/freezes my PC. Default settings and gamepad but VSync disabled I played for 32h 4k 60+fps, no issues. ***Except, that KDE taskbar seems to freeze while the game is open. This doesn't affect the game in any way, but if I want to tab out and switch to another task / read my system clock I can't see the updated taskbar, clicking on other tasks works, though - I just can't see where they are on the taskbar shrug. Closing the game resets the taskbar. Again - doesn't affect gaming directly.

Installed the game. Started the game. Set everything to highest settings on DX11. Everything worked flawlessly. Basically no way for me to tell if the game is running in native Windows or via Proton, it's the exact same experience from installation to playing.

Using these launch parameters (PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%), the game runs at a solid 60FPS throughout with everything maxed. No audio glitches, crashes or other anomalies.

Runs on OpenGL. The game crashes on launch after my system first starts up but runs well after launching it again.

Wont start with any renderer even on bare minimum settings @720p, crashhes on new game button press.

Crashes with ogre exception when launching in DX11. DX9 and OpenGL crash immediately after the splash screen.

Runs perfectly out of the box.

Runs perfectly, nothing to add.

Choosed OpenGL in the game launcher and it worked flawlessly.

Changed graphic API in the Launcher to OpenGL.

Change graphics API from DX to OpenGL before launch within the games own setup-launcher.

Runs on OpenGL perfectly from the first time launch, but the mouse cursor placement doesn't quite precisely placed, for example: when selecting a menu, you have to move your cursor below the intended menu before clicking it. I decided to use D3D11 by changing its Launch Options to "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" to make it work (it won't run in Vulkan's D3D11).
