Runs perfectly out of the box; Controller input not tested (but also not advertised on store page)
Numbers such as money etc. aren't properly displayed, instead showing ##0 or else, making the game nearly unplayable. The game itself runs quite well. Experienced a permanent freeze on changing antialiasing settings.
Gives error message: 'The Achron directory within the current user's home directory is corrupt or the home directory is unwritable.'
Surprised to see this game run perfectly on my old laptop. Had to use the following command to get through product activation: WINEPREFIX=${HOME}/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/105450/pfx/ winetricks d3dx9 mfc42 winxp l3codecx corefonts
Tried the Building Traffic mode. The game itself is perfectly playable. Performance slowly but surely gets worse over time, slowing down the game speed. Switching to windowed mode is not really possible as, when you turn off fullscreen, a giant black window with only a tiny fraction being the game appears.
Slight audio stutter noticeable; Putting the game into windowed mode reveals a large black area outside of the game area (window is not properly resized to fit onto the game)
Some audio stutter noticeable. Windowed mode does not work properly. Game itself works.
Tested a few levels. Seems to run perfectly aside from a minor graphical glitch where the pilot chair is partially invisible. As this is the only issue I found, I'm still rating this as Platinum since this has no impact on gameplay.
Open Beta (Playtest) works fine
Explosion particle effects generated by firing guns look slightly off. Minor issue, to be honest.
Mouse seems slightly floaty at times, much too responsive at other times. Could have something to do with mouse acceleration?
Much better performance ingame with Proton (~50-120 FPS) when compared with the native port (~20-40 FPS) on my machine.
Used the instructions at https://gist.github.com/jrbergen/0ce746676c4fbcc2becd6054d1bba2ed as recommended by a previous report. Multiplayer works perfectly now.
Works out of the box
The only thing I noticed is some kind of parsing error in the score table, but it didn't affect anything else.
Runs perfectly. Tested using an XBOX-One Controller over Bluetooth. Very fun and fast game, lots of explosions.
To get Online to work, use:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d %command%
The game works out of the box except for video playback. To fix this, I used the same command suggested by previous posters:
WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/368370/pfx/ winetricks ffdshow l3codecx winxp directshow
Any time a video is started, you're kicked out of fullscreen. Thus, you should play this game in windowed mode.
Runs perfectly. Tested using an XBOX-One Controller over Bluetooth. Minor performance hiccups at the start when the world is loading in.
Runs perfectly with good performance - However, one font seems to be missing/is not shown. As this game heavily relies on that font (descriptions, names etc. of different options, employees...), the game is not really playable. I'm still giving it Bronze though as the buttons, while blank, work, and you still get most of the necessary information you need by pressing on them.
I commited a report in 3.16-3 before. The game now runs perfectly with ALL fonts showing! 3.16-4's improvements to text rendering definitely show in this game as everything is shown now, giving this game a platinum rank!
No text ingame; Large areas of the launcher are painted black as soon as any 3D rendering happens. Mission descriptions only contain their first line repeated over and over again.
The initial menu kind of works, but has major rendering issues as soon as anything 3D is rendered. The actual game crashes when loading in.
"PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" doesn't help and seems to further increase the problems with the initial menu.
The game runs flawlessly. Did not test multiplayer. The launcher is unusually dark, but works well enough to get to the game. In fact, the whole launcher seems to work well aside from video playback.
UH OH! Your graphics card doesn't like our game. Please try upgrading your drivers. This usually fixes the problem. If that doesn't work, email MILES@PIXELJAM.COM.
Had to fall back to DirectX 9 because of buggy reflections in the mirrors. DirectX9 performance is significantly lower than DirectX11 performance, so keep that in mind.
After 10 minutes, the game blackscreens all monitors (two, in my case), but continues to run (you can hear that the game is still reacting to your inputs). Alt-tabbing out and back in makes the game reappear.
Aside from these (somewhat major) issues, the game runs as expected.
Runs perfectly at excellent performance, but MSAA breaks reflections, you should therefore disable it. Singleplayer and Multiplayer tested; Used Steam Controller.
Demo works pretty well
Minor freezes when shooting the shotgun-like weapon at something close to you or when having the flamethrower-like enemy shooting very close to you
Can hang on exit
Tried the demo. Menu works, but that's it.
Crashes when trying to start the Tutorial. Fades to black and hangs when trying to host or join a game.
Doesn't start. Had to manually click through DirectX-prompts during installation. Tries to install PhysX physics engine at every launch-attempt.
Runs perfectly, but there are some terrain glitches that can impact playability. They become especially apparent in the space age, where leaving from and returning to the same planet can sometimes result in large parts of the planets surface turning into a flat mountain.
Works perfectly (in the sense of being DLC and adding content); Start from Spore or Spore Galactic Adventures
Works absolutely perfect in every way. Tested career, single missions, naval academy and museum. Did not test multiplayer.
Runs perfectly. I even see minor graphical advantages over Windows, especially the fact that the aspect ratio is displayed correctly instead of stretching the game.
Game literally unplayable for the first minute, performance reaches normal levels after one minute.
Runs perfectly; However, enabling filters does not seem to be possible over the menu, forcing me to manually activate them using the settings.ini; Filters work perfectly after that, though.
Demo works, albeit with some rough edges
When starting the game for the first time, some sort of intro (?) appears to be supposed to play. However, you can only see a black screen and a small message in the corner allowing you to skip. Doing that will allow you to get into the game, though.
Unusually slow startup
Game hangs on exit
Runs quite well, although the mission control center sometimes fades to black towards the beginning of the game. Since pressing ESC unfades the game again, I'd still rate it as running perfectly.
Vastly better performance than the native linux port. Went from 20-30fps (native) to 70-80fps (Proton) on highest settings.
Antialiasing is broken (Terrain becomes invisible with it turned on), so keep it off
Everything runs perfectly, even file loading for custom heads etc.; Tested several maps
