Plays great.
Both renderers work great. DX12 seems to have slightly better performance. Raytracing features didn't work for me with this GPU/driver combination.
gamemoderun %command% +fps_max 0 +cl_showpos 1 -forcenovsync -dev +cl_ragdoll_collide 0
Plays perfectly after the shader cache is built. There is sometimes a slight performance degredation in some areas compared to playing natively on Windows, but the difference has been negligible in my experience. Overall a near perfect experience without any tweaking.
Runs well without tinkering.
The game sometimes hangs on exit.
If the game hangs after attempting to quit, just stop the game from the Steam library. The intro splash screen movies played correctly.

The game sometimes hangs on exit.
The intro splash screen movies didn't play using the default Proton version. If the game hangs after attempting to quit, use the exit game option in the Steam overlay.
No missing background videos with GE-Proton7-15. Proton Experimental still has missing videos most of the time, although some seem to work. Gameplay is great with both versions, framerate consistency and overall latency feels better than Windows.
The Windows version works perfectly through Proton. The native port failed to launch on this computer for some reason, although I've used it in the past on other machines.
Plays great but encountered text input issue.
Attempting to rename a savefile slot brings up a keyboard prompt. The Steam Deck software keyboard can input characters, but the cursor position can't be adjusted and the prompt can't be closed without temporarily binding a button to the "Enter" key. Plugging in a physical keyboard works as expected.
The game itself runs great, locked 60fps. The developer recommended control scheme uses WASD and mouse by default, a bit odd considering the game has full controller support.
Perfect after uncapping the framerate.
Noticeable input lag if the framerate limiter is left enabled.
Gameplay caps at 57 FPS instead of the intended 60. Framepacing is slightly inconsistent.
Disable the framerate limit in order to resolve the performance and input issues. With default settings the game will be playable but imperfect.
Works great!
I haven't encountered any issues. No tweaks, plays great and seems very stable.
Perfect!
The game plays perfectly on Deck. 60FPS locked and no desync issues. The aspect ratio is locked to 16:9 which means a bit of unused screen space, a 16:10 mode would be nice.
I didn't encounter the issue with the swapped ABXY controls that other reviews have mentioned.
Great!
Hard stuttering after playing for a while. This only happened once and restarting the game fixed it.
Playable without any tinkering.
Perfect!
Bound dpad to act as left thumbstick
No issues.
Perfect!
Plays like native. No tinkering. The default control scheme works as intended but could be easily improved upon by using one of the trackpads as a mouse.
Works flawlessly without any tinkering.
Perfect!
Plays perfectly out of the box. Low battery consumption even at default hardware settings.
Perfect!
Full playthrough, no issues. This game is an early access title still in development, so it's only a "full" playthrough at this point in time.
Full playthrough, no issues or tinkering.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
If playing on a high refresh rate monitor the game will run too quickly, use the launch option to limit the framerate to 60 FPS.
While using default Proton: disappearing props and flickering textures in the prologue dungeon.
The game initially had some issues rendering the first 3D area whilst using the default Proton or the latest GE-Proton. I had a similar issue with a single level in Sonic Frontiers, so it might just be something with this system specifically. In both cases the issues didn't occur on Steam Deck, just this desktop. Proton Next seems to run the game perfectly. The game runs at 60 FPS solid for me, but I also get a jittery feeling somewhere. It feels like some parts of the game might update at less than 60 FPS internally, but that's just a guess. Overall the game looks and plays very well.
Perfect!
Set display refresh rate to 40hz.
No issues. Performance chugs a bit on the world map. An inconsistent 60hz is possible, but 40hz seems like the way to go.
Plays great!
No issues or tinkering. Make sure to save using the load/save option in the emulation menu as the in game memory card saves don't persist. I think this is just a quirk of the port and not a compatibility issue.

Mouse cursor flickers when moved.
Worked flawlessly until a couple days ago, now there's a slight issue with the mouse cursor flickering. Setting the Proton version to Proton 7.0-3 avoids this problem.
Perfect!
No issues. Set in-game resolution to 1680x1050 for 16:10 aspect ratio. Solid 60 FPS with all graphics options set to max. Looks and plays great!
Perfect!
Adjusted thumbstick deadzones
Scaling looks bad at 1280x800 for some reason, adjusted in-game settings to 1280x720
Runs very well with surprisingly good battery life. No tweaks required.
Currently unplayable with default Proton due to an interesting save bug. Works perfectly with the latest GE-Proton.
Plays like native.
Sometimes displays keyboard prompts instead of or alongside gamepad prompts.
Install a Windows DLL or component > vcrun2019
Requires C++ libraries but doesn't automatically install them. Runs great afterwards.
Runs extremely well. Encountered no issues.
Great!
Control prompt text runs off the screen slightly in Intimacy mode. Everything is readable otherwise so this is an extremely trivial detail.
Plays great, no tinkering required.
Runs perfectly with GE-Proton7-24. The default version of Proton only drew a black screen with this hardware for some reason. The default Proton works fine on Steam Deck.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
The game runs too quickly on high refresh rate monitors. The launch option prevents this by locking the game to 60 FPS.
Currently doesn't work with the latest Proton versions. The game will launch to the title screen but crash when loading the main menu. Everything is fully playable when using Proton 6.3-8.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
Using a high refresh rate monitor without limiting the game to 60fps will cause the game to run too quickly. This can be fixed easily using the launch option. The game speed issues are present on Windows as well and not specific to Linux/Proton.
Great performance with a few minor visual bugs.
Bodies of water sometimes glow red with excessive bloom. Rainbow artifacts on large rocks in World 2.
World details and scenery don't load in on level 1-7, only interactable items like rails, rings and boost ramps display properly. Collision is unaffected and the level is playable without issue, although it looks unfinished. So far this is the only level where this has happened.
Interestingly, the problems listed above haven't presented themselves while running the game on Steam Deck. It's possible GE-Proton might improve things, or perhaps this install is corrupted in some way. Overall the game looks and plays great.
Plays great, no issues.
Set screen refresh rate to 40hz.
A mostly solid 40 FPS is attainable without resolution scaling. Looks and plays great but drains battery fairly quickly. If loading a save from another device, take caution that your difficulty setting doesn't change. It will default to easy difficulty if left untouched.
Plays great!
The Unity crash handler pops up after attempting to exit the game, but that's the only oddity I've encountered.
Perfect!
Set the left thumbstick to use a square deadzone.
Plays great without any tinkering.
Perfect!
Bound RT to accelerate, LT to decelerate.
Full playthrough, no issues.

No tinkering, no issues.

No tinkering, no issues.
No audio.
Steam Cloud not supported.
Tried multiple versions of Proton, including the latest Proton-GE. The game runs well with the default Proton version but lacks audio.
Runs well, but no audio.

The game runs well with the default Proton version but lacks audio.
Working as expected.
Plays perfectly without any tinkering.
Set resolution to 640x480 or 960x720 using the "Launch Controller Layout Tool" option at launch.
Bound dpad to act as left thumbstick.
Disable framerate cap and allow tearing to minimize latency.
Resolution cannot be set to 1280x960 or the game will fail to initialize.
Plays great after the resolution and control scheme are set correctly.
Perfect!
Bound dpad to act as left thumbstick.
Disabled framerate cap to minimize latency.
No issues.

Works great without any tinkering. No noticeable issues.
Runs perfectly with GE-Proton7-24. The default version of Proton only drew a black screen with this hardware for some reason. The default Proton works fine on Steam Deck.
Set "UseDirectInput=True" in /Unreal Tournament/System/UnrealTournament.ini This removes mouse acceleration.
Alt-Tab or minimizing the program will break mouse capture. The game will still play properly, but the system cursor will be visible on top of the game screen.
A much better out of the box experience than modern Windows. The game runs at the correct speed on a 240hz monitor.
Mouse input is still somewhat delayed but completely acceptable, probably due to Vsync. I suspect additional config tweaks or a different renderer could improve things.
Perfect!
Set resolution to 720p. Higher resolutions crop the screen slightly.
No issues.
Perfect!
Enabled half rate shading, reduced TDP to minimum.
Full playthrough, no issues. The game sips power and runs at 60fps. Cloud saves work as expected.
Nearly perfect.
Full playthrough, no gameplay issues. Two pre-rendered cutscenes were unable to play properly towards the end of the game (cutscene after defeating the final boss and the credit roll cutscene). The intro cinematic played correctly. GE-Proton likely fixes this but I didn't bother.
Nearly perfect.
Set TDP to minimum, enable half rate shading.
Full playthrough, no gameplay issues. Set resolution to 1280x800 using the configuration tool before playing. Two cutscenes towards the end of the game may not load properly with the default Proton version (cutscene after defeating the final boss and the credit roll cutscene). The intro cinematic played correctly.
Runs well with Proton 3.16-9, but newer versions of Proton do not work.
The default control layout is pretty bad, so it's best to rearrange the controls yourself or choose a community layout.
Plays well with Proton 3.16-9, but newer versions of Proton do not work. The menu controls are hard bound to the in-game action buttons, so rearranging the layout will probably result in weird menu navigation.
Plays great with Proton 3.16-9, but newer versions of Proton do not work.
Changed dpad bindings to act as left thumbstick.
Plays great with Proton 3.16-9. Newer version of Proton do not work. The launch window will require the software keyboard if you wish to change your name for the high score table.
